      The bug bites I'm still scratching from my trip 3 years ago. Be prepared for the most mosquitoes you've ever experienced. 😂

      In 1983 we stopped at "The Root Beer Lady's" island and had a cold root beer, candy bar and signed her guest book. She was very kind and a great memory of my times in the BWCA!

    Nice Video, looks like a well-planned trip. I've been coming up to the Ely area for years, but haven't ventured into the BWCA for a long time. My best day ever was a day trip into Pipestone Bay though Fall Lake. We killed the walleyes that day. We were 2 fish or so short of our limit but all of our Walleyes were between 2 and 4 lbs with the biggest being just over 4lbs. I always enjoyed the portage around Pipestone Falls even going up Heart Attack Hill coming out.

    How much ice do you bring,? And is that cooking grate at a designated camp site

    • @ReelNorthOutdoors
      @ReelNorthOutdoors  4 месяца назад

      I don’t bring any ice! In the past I have frozen some plastic water bottles to keep bait cool if it’s warm out. The grates are at every designated site!

    With all the walleyes in the water why would you eat bass? I see alot of people eating small mouth. Let em go let em grow. All you need is a jig and a worm....

    • @ReelNorthOutdoors
      @ReelNorthOutdoors  Год назад

      Didn’t get into the walleyes until the day after the fish fry otherwise we would have!

    • @eduffy4937
      @eduffy4937 11 месяцев назад +2

      Ain't nothing wrong with eating smallmouth man. There's plenty of them and there's lots of those 13" fish that are begging for the fry pan. You CAN eat more than just walleyes in the park I eat bass, pike, brookies, walleyes, lakers, whitefish in fall, and suckers in spring. They all taste like fish with the exception of the char species.

      @eduffy4937 to each their own. I've fished all over Canada, Minnesota. Most people eat walleye unless of course you couldn't locate them. If I wanted to eat mush I could go buy some talipia. You keep eating all the others, leaves more walleye for me!!
