Exactly I agree to what you said about insurance policy for the climbers or sherpa who assist climbers to summit, the government should really look into this matter instead of keep praising the effort of one sherpa, as there were many who lost their lives for the sake of assisting others! Harsh but reality that they don't even bother to revise the insurance policy for sherpas.

Very informative n step by step.If the climbers & the porters are going on a mission the govt must have a rescue team on hand at all times this is extemely crucial & imp as lives can be saved plus their GPS or communication system should be very much active secondly the insurance should be a secure one these porters will say climbers as the gentlema correctly put in they carry so much weight n they climb in extreme conditions.PM must look into this as overall he is doing a great job.
Climbing is death game, especially on K2, the savage mountain, and the NAnga Parbat, the killer mountain. Climbers know they will die while on the mission, but they keep pursuing the ambitious risk for name and fame plus money.
Pakistan government should provide such high level helicopter , first aid , rescue camp or Pakistan should have a satellite system but nothing Pakistan has in K-2 area .
Did you even listen to the guy what he said? It is around the border area and that is a militarized zone. Only Army helicopters are allowed to fly there. Army has its own protocols to follow and you cannot just believe they are a call away. Also, our Army does professionally handle all of this, they always have been. They never reject a rescue mission, be it floods, earthquakes or any other disaster. Do you even know how difficult it is to reach K2? It's not like your average highway road to destination. You have to walk there overcoming dangerous paths and reaching such high altitude in a matter of days only to reach the base camp of k2. Climbing is another story.
More people have been to space than of the summit of K2 that's in normal weather in winter only one team of 10 people have went that too this year only so u think it's easy to go up there No helicopter can fly at that altitudes with that much air current or else they would have tried

They can do round the clock monitoring n shifts as no one can be there on a permanent basis when the mountaineers are climbing this requires through planning n yes investment so the lives can be saved.
private companies should also be given chance for rescue and search operations there...there should international standard proper infrastructure & trainining schools for mountaineering...

@Paul Wolf Well money & fame is important for people But in this case it is not for money because Pakistan is not so rich to pay money to her own climbers even for motivation also i didn't know his name until he lost..So it is better to not risk your life in such Harsh cold weather where you can't be rescued even...while climbing a tower you can be rescued or even your loved ones know your condition..But Going to K2 in winter is totally different I want government to put a ban on climbing K-2 in winter!!
Ali Sadpara is the only one I am sorry for...the others, not so much. They were selfish in their pursuit, John Snorri, for example, is leaving 6 children behind. During the last 4 to 6 years he was gone most of the time-his youngest sons probably did not spend much time with their father.
