Great video, Jayden. I was also really surprised at how basic the JAL domestic lounges are compared to their international lounges. I"m surprised there were no English announcements in the airport though. That would make it fairly difficult for non-Japanese speakers. That meal looked amazing, especially for a 1 hour flight! I hope you had a great time Tokyo. I can't wait to get back there in October!
Great video. Surprised by the delicious meals on the short flight and the champagne. Nice A350 and missing logo A350 on the rear fuselage lol. Glad had the tail camera on JAL A350. These were excellent seats, and JAL A350 wish could fly anywhere in Asia. Did you explore in Osaka area? I wish I could explore areas in Japan than stay in the airport.
yep I too wish they have a International configured A350. They will have A350-1000 but probably for Long haul only. I was only in Osaka for 24 hours, had to cut my trip short because I caught covid earlier and had to cut my trip short ;(
Great vlog mate. Im booking a couple of flights to Japan tomorrow at 11am when Qantas releases their massive rewards seats allocation. Your vlog just added to the excitement so thanks and happy travelling 😊 🇦🇺👍🍻
Hi Jayden! What a nice flight on JAL! Many bubbles and flavourful meal according to your facial expression! Yum! We didn't see the bathroom though, no coat hook? How do you like the A350 compared to a 777, if it's a valid comparison? Okay, maybe it depends on which class you are travelling and the distance. I'm so excited to fly the A350-1000 next week, it will be a first for me (I've flown the A350-900)! Great to see your Tokyo vlog too. I need to visit Japan one day, really! Your hotel room was cosy and had everything you need. I love the "curtain" that you open to get the view outside. Well, I am waiting for your 6th trip now and I will be in Bangkok when your video is published next Thursday! Safe travels, Jayden :)
Should add Tokyo/Japan for the stopover to Asia next time! :) This trip was a stopover for me before continuing to America haha. A350 is a lot nicer, quieter and more humid. If speaking of 3-3-3 seats on both A350 and B777. B777 is comfier because the cabin is wider. Enjoy your trip to BKK on CX😍
Indeed the train might have been faster. But I suspect many pax are making onward connex. Same here in Europe where KL continues to fly the 104 mile sector between BRU and AMS.
Shinkansen takes about 2.5 hours. Flight takes less than 1.5 hours. Though if you account for time spent in airport check-in, security, boarding, etc., Shinkansen is probably slightly faster.
Shinkansen would've been faster especially if you are staying near Tokyo Station. I was staying in Shinjuku and travelling with luggage so it was actually easier for me to fly into Haneda and then catch the Airport Limousine (big orange bus) straight to my hotel. Also, economy on JAL starts from 7000yen, train is around double of that so easy choice for me, price wise and for my needs :)
@@JaydenWong good luck doing that 7 hours with overpriced half-eaten looking food and seats so thin you think you'd be sitting on a wooden bench xD have a good flight!
The flight of ITAMI-HANEDA is too short to enjoy meals and veberages😭 As you mentioned, domestic lounges have little service(no shower except in HANEDA, no hot meal etc)🙁🙁but the steak and soba noodles served during the flight are really delicious🥰 Shochu which JAL First Class serves called MORI IZOU(森伊蔵) is extremely rare so please enjoy MORI IZOU when you are on board JAL First again👍️
Amazing video mate. The experience of the lounge was truly underwhelming, but not actually needed, you got the view and food on board. Wonder how the other lounge is tho. The announcements are in Japanese, but FIDs are in English too?
As always, another great and informative trip report Jayden. Question, did the ground crew wave goodbye to the plane as it left the gate in Osaka? I've been to Japan many times for work, and it was so cool when the ground crew waved the plane goodbye
Always surprises me how “scruffy” Haneda looks in terms of the weeds around the taxiways and the grass that isn’t well kept or cut, considering how immaculate everything else is in Japan it’s a bit of a strange sight. Hopefully I’ll be back soon and they might have cut the grass by then 😂
submerge, i guess the word you were looking for. Anyway, for me, the JAL first class felt a bit underwhelming tho nothing much you can provide in just 1 hour flight.
One of the problems for this flight was that the seat belt sign was illuminated earlier than usual so had to rush through the food and no time to use the bathroom and recline the seat. Still better than US carriers though, one hour = almost no service. Thanks for watching! :)
Hong Konger-Canadian living in Sapporo here. Took JAL's A350 multiple times (in class J) now from CTS-HND, all should have under belly and tail camera bor. I even have pictures and videos from my multiple trips on them haha I think it was at the bottom of the home screen or a little icon at the bottom iirc, it was not easy to find, but can confirm they all have! CTS-HND route is now primarily served by A350, used to be B777, still have the odd B737 for the wee hours. Also an odd theory, but many times I flew domestic when there was no "visible foreigner" (white person) they did the announcements in Japanese only, but if there was a visible foreigner on board, they did Japanese and English.
Hello there! Thanks for leaving a comment. Ah thanks for exposing me for not knowing for the camera is 😆🤣 Can’t believe I missed it. Interesting about the PA. I remember flying Jetstar Japan HKG-NRT once and they did only Japanese safety PA lol. I was like ‘is this even allowed’😂😂
Less than ¥50,000 - or A$500 - for a return trip between Osaka and Tokyo on JAL. That's remarkably cheap between two Japanese cities and partly because they were competing against the popular, but environmentally friendly Shinkansen services on the same route. Here, you can fly between Sydney and Melbourne on Business for roughly A$200 more than what you get for the trip shown on this report. I guess it is affordable to fly with luxury within Japan, unlike mostly anywhere else. With Qantas revealing new First and Business class products for their Airbus A350 Project Sunrise routes, it won't be too far away before Australians like me travel on one of these new big metal birds. (Technically, this is out of reach for your channel's needs, but hey at least we can all dream!) 🙂
Such a shame Australia and the USA don't have high-speed yet. I drove Adelaide to Melbourne last week because it was so much cheaper to drive down to Melbourne and then fly out from there to overseas. Conveniently, my housemate from Thailand is returning to Australia next week. Flying BKK-MEL, and can pick up my car and drive it back to ADL 🤣
Did you encounter any issues communicating with the crews and ground staffs in this particular domestic flight, especially in English? This is always my concern, although I can speak N5 (beginner level) and some N4 (amateur level) Japanese.
Lol.... definitely first🤣 The word you're looking for is " soak" in the tub. Jetlag will do that to you 😴 I dunno if I would ever call a men's bathroom " cute", but anything is possible 😅

yep, it makes the AA Admirals Clubs shine! Fortunately the inflight service made it up :)
My goodness, the level of service was great! What a nice experience.
thanks for watching Patricia, you can always expect a lot from the Japanese!
It looks like great value for 1st class domestic.
totally! And lots of points/status credits accrual 😍
@@JaydenWong Thanks! I’ll go for the splurge next time, and I’m in Osaka.
I missed first class on JAL☺️thanks for vlog! And it’s a good price, better that Australia or USA loved the vlog of Tokyo too. Few memories for me ❤️
thanks Ian! Cheaper than Qantas Sydney to Adelaide in economy most of the time!

Hi Jayden thank you for the video yes meal did look good. One thing I liked was the divider between the seats.
thanks Maureen, yep the divider wasn't big but added a lot of privacy to my seat :)
16:05 Jayden that’s the biggest pedestrian crossing I’ve ever seeeeeennn
there are bigger and busier ones in other parts of Tokyo!
as usual well done Jayden thankyou

Hi
hi!
2-2-2 in first in 2023? What are poeples opinions on this? Most business classes are 1-2-1 nowadays
this is a domestic only aircraft. Their longest flight is barely over 2 hours. Their A350-1000 will have 1-2-1 and go overseas.
It looks like a business class 😂 If you make the changes choice of Singapore airlines
their business class/class J is very similar but without the partition between you and neighbour and no free meals.
Plastic cups for the fake champagne 😂😂😂. First Class, I don’t think. More like SQ Economy.
you don't get sparkling on SQ economy do you?
