all of my succulents (or succulent-like plants) have made it through the winter because i wait to water until their leaves start to feel a little soft. it’s a pretty good rule of thumb. i have anything from hawthoria, to kalanchoe, to senecio, a variegated jade plant, and a variegated string of pearls.. it works well with all of those lol. i feel like it’s SO much easier to tell what’s going on if you pay attention to the plant, not just the soil. i try to check mine everyday, but i miss some days, and that’s okay, as long as you keep on top of it. -i do have grow lights so they’ve been thirstier since i got them, but the hawthorias that i have weren’t under the grow lights and i still treat them the same way. check for softness!!!! i usually wait until a little less than half of the plant is getting soft, and they seem to love it??? they bounce RIGHT back to those thick juicy leaves. if they’re showing signs of too much dryness- leaves are getting crispy and falling off, you’re waiting too long. try watering before it gets to that point. but hey, we’re all learning, so don’t beat yourself up about it if you lose some leaves, or some plants. much love 🌱🧡
Right. I'm a succulent breeder, specified on Aloes, and I never water every 2 weeks. My plants would rot away if I watered that frequent. It depends on your air humidity, the amount of sun light, the temperature and several other factors, like soil mix, etc.
Each and every succulent and their needs vary from each other, they dont grow as same parameter, i have experience of 1 year now stopped growing themas well stopped buying them, only 20 succulents in very good conditions and happy with them, becuz now i became too knowledgeable and expert 😜how to keep happy them😃😊by personal care method, not easy haa..😮
Cut back to watering once a month during winter, unless you have plant lights that mimic the active growing season. If they go sormant and stop growing, cut back on water to keep them from wet rotting
If you know nothing about plants do not rely on this advice. Most succulents need watering maybe once a month or less, so to have a rule of every 2 weeks to stick by is odd, it depends on the plant, light levels and the soil. Also I’ve had cacti that have burned in direct light, so again depends on the plant.
My succulent needs more water, every 2 in a week, and it's good going... even you don't know anything,,plants are just babies and every child different nature by their home and environment
2 oz. of water might not be enough. You should water deeply until the soil is fully moistened, allowing excess water to drain. Make sure to water thoroughly, then wait until the soil dries out completely before the next watering.
Bro that’s not how it works really. Haworthia have hard leaves but need indirect, soft leaves just indicate thirst. Water on signs of thirst, scheduled watering leads to over or under watering. Either means unhappy plant. Light: afternoon or morning direct sun is generally good, hawothia and echeveria will be fine in that kind of light. If plant starts to stress too much or etiolate move the plant to a shadier or sunnier spot respectively.
Does anyone know the name of the very first succulent in this video??? (She stuck her finger in the pot) It looks very similar to the one I have. I seriously cannot find what type it is....I used Google lens too and no luck. I have no idea how to care for it. All the leafs fell off Mine and it's growing small ones on the main stem....but now they are dying. I dunno what to do 😢🫣🫣🫣😭😭😭😫😫😨😨
I'm in the beginning of my cacti journey after killing one. Cacti generally need more light but the species are all different. Some are naturally evolved for the shade of indirect sun. Or direct overcast sun. From what ive seen most cacti dont want direct bright light
So the lavender Pebbles I notice are not lavender. Nor are mine that I got from you guys and I know they're grown in a greenhouse it would be cool to do a guide on how much sun and any other tricks they need to actually become that awesome lavender color

Yahh, and you can use your finger to check the soil. If the soil feels dry and powdery when you stick your finger in up to the second knuckle, it's time to water your plant.
Just stop watering your succulents when the soil is fully soaked. You can use your finger to check the soil. If the soil feels dry and powdery when you stick your finger in up to the second knuckle, it's time to water your plant.
You also have better draining soil than most succulent owners. I'm sure you just posted this for interaction bait and knew that this generalization was as incorrect as it is.
That's great! Actually the best method is you can use your finger to check the soil. If the soil feels dry and powdery when you stick your finger in up to the second knuckle, it's time to water your plant.
I saw my cousin's succulent are all completely dry.. and they're starting to propaganate.. like What on earth, they thought succulent are plastic or a figure 🤡
@@A_Kingdom_Well You can use finger to check the soil moisture. Just dip your index finger into the soil near the stem of your plant up to about your first knuckle. If the soil feels dry, and your finger comes out clean, then it's probably time for some water.
HELP I cant keep a String of Pearls plants alive. I had several long strands at purchase its in the same container as bought in. Hanging in shade with bright area of indirect light. I water only when surface us dry, but the plant keeps drying up and dying... what have I done wrong?
Succulents aren't getting enough light. Move the plant to a brighter location. Using a clean, sharp pair of scissors or pruners, cut the stem back to the rosette or to just above a set of healthy leaves.

So thirst will be more important than watering based on the schedule according to what the video said, won't be?
Reminder not to rely on watering schedules you hear online. Instead you should rely on signs of wilting and the dampness of the soil.
Yes, it's like this. We need to take care of it based on its condition
Two weeks is too frequent for some of mine so just remember it's not that easy!
Right. I'm a succulent breeder, specified on Aloes, and I never water every 2 weeks. My plants would rot away if I watered that frequent. It depends on your air humidity, the amount of sun light, the temperature and several other factors, like soil mix, etc.
Mine gets water every six months or something.
Make a reminder in your phone

Every two weeks is a bit of a generalization. Start with this but look at how your plants are doing and adjust accordingly
That's true. We always recommend that the soil should be checked before watering our plants 😉

Wow beautiful succulent plants thank you for this tips
Soft “leaves” means it needs water
I have had many many succulents and learned that a good way to water them is about 2 oz. of water every 30 days
2oz of water for 1 succulents/ 30 days?
So beautiful plants 🌵🌵🤩🤩❤❤😊😊

Hello,
I want to paid the seeds of succulents. Where found that??
I was not watering my saculants and they were dying more than before I used to water them so I started doing the same thing they're are coming back on leaf because I lost more than 30
I water them once a week and they are gigantic!
Yahh, and you can use your finger to check the soil. If the soil feels dry and powdery when you stick your finger in up to the second knuckle, it's time to water your plant.
Will it survive in dark room ?? Because I used to keep in a washroom where is no ventilation and that we barely use
How much water/
Just stop watering your succulents when the soil is fully soaked. You can use your finger to check the soil. If the soil feels dry and powdery when you stick your finger in up to the second knuckle, it's time to water your plant.
Wow lovely succulents. ❤
