Time stamp in the description
Crazy to think there’s still people who have yet to hear Marvin’s Room for the first time.
There’s an entire generation who had a moment with that song alone in a dark room in 2011.
You talking about how special the beats are isn’t an unusual thought. This is thought of as the golden era for Drake beat wise with his right hand man 40 handling the vast majority of the production. A lot of people nowadays wish he would return to crafting a project primarily handed by 40.
Lot of Abel influence too 🙏 ovoxo
And I still listen Marvins room alone in a dark room
This entire album is for simps.
@@AJGaming-cf4zh You got it, WRONG, bro.
@@AJGaming-cf4zh this album is for legends
People forget. The Weekend and K Dot Features were what really made them household names at the time. Right after this good kid Madd city and trilogy dropped.
40. 40 is the reason everything works. He's a top-tier engineer. There would be no DRAKE Drake without 40s impeccable ear.
Bs he’s used loads of producers and he’d use another engineer producer. He’s a rapper not a producer. So he’d still be as good a rapper.
uh no 40 is great but drake would still drop amazing music without
The weekend wrote half of this album drake really ain’t ish
@@ezolokaonly 4 songs
@@therealhb1763 no literally half this what drake himself said
You just brought back a lot of memories. What a throwback. And that Marvin’s Room first reaction was priceless. So crazy to think there are a lot of people who have never heard that song before! Keep it up. Nothing Was The Same is be right up there with Take Care. Also you should check out Bryson Tiller if R&B and rap is something you’re exploring!

I feel like this album is a taste of what an OVOXO album could be like
That would have been a dream come true
Fr tho shits a classic
It literally is an OVOXO album. The Weeknd had a major role in this album. He wrote some of the songs for this album. Shot for me, Marvins Room, Camera , Crew love, Doing things wrong. Rumor has it that Kiss land was supposed to be a major album with 16 - 20 songs.
Most of these songs are the Weeknds but he gave them to drake, he said it in an interview long ago
@@amolypoly only 5 songs. It's a 20 song album.
It’s amazing to me that people can still react to Marvins Room for the first time. And this I why I love reaction channels
not a chance in hell this girl hasn’t heard marvins room lol
@@crisgia frr lmaoo
This album is easily my favorite album of all time, it's helped me so much in life
This album is really my comfort album. The album is also really immersive. Takes me almost like out reality. And has absolutely no skips.
I'm with you there brother, this album has been an anchor for me since the day it came out. I can't imagine my life without it🙂
His top 2 albums for sure!!
Proud of you for catching Abel's vocals on Good Ones Go interlude.
Edit: and you caught him on The Ride ❤️🙏
NOTHING WAS THE SAME IS HIS BEST ALBUM NO CAP YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO THAT ALBUM ASAP
FACTS💯
Deadass all the songs hit👌🏼🔥
Fax it doesn't get enough credit because of how great of an album take care is.
Take care it but nwts is second
I been saying this but dudes stuck on Take Care…but I understand tho😂
His best album to date. Nothing was the same is a close second. 30 songs of STRAIGHT vibes
(24:22) The singer's name is Jon B, he is a Singer that Babyface (another 90's singer) signed to his label in the 90's. Drake uesd a sample of Jon B's song called "Calling on You" from his album called "Pleasure Like You" from 2000, except Drake's producer reversed the sample and put some drums and a nice baseline to it :)
Please let them know about Jon B!!!
Throwback!
Sometimes I wish I could re listen to Drizzy’s discography for the first time. ESP the older stuff. CLB OTW!
Nice reaction video.
The ride one of my all time favorite tracks... drake's verses were perfect, and weeknd's vocals compliment it so well
The crazy harmonica solo on “Doing It Wrong” was played by Stevie Wonder
No way, is that true?! Incredible if so lol.
@@ShelbyShuffleMode it is, Drake has also said he helped with the album
Stevie got the best solo's

Drake’s 3rd studio album NWTS is his best by far!!!! I would highly recommend reacting to more Drake projects! 🔥

@@jon_ovo3653 ayyy what’s good bro!!! Always come across each other 😂🔥
So you are correct The Weeknd can be heard on a few of these songs not only on the back vocals but he also wrote a few songs of this album.
Many people say that this album his heavily influenced by The Weeknd style who was on the come up at that time and it's true when you hear a song like "shot for me" you can totally imagine this song sung by Abel.
Also the song "Take Care" is a cover of a Gil Scott-Heron of the same name (you can still hear his voice towards the end of the song) that was later remixed by none other than Jamie xx (from the band "The xx") which Drake use as his beat.
I always thought it was weird that people think The Weeknd had this massive influence on Take Care he only gave Drake two songs as a thank you other then that he only wrote his own verses when he was featured Drake used that type of sound plenty of times before Take Care came out
@@teddyamo5268 4* not 2
He wrote hooks man. Don’t make it seem like he wrote drake verses too.
@@javontaepinder9945 The first verse of Shot For Me is clearly The Weeknd’s pen.
@@yslxo_ Yeah shot for me is one of the 4 songs he had involvement in and I can see the first verse(singing) but not the second and rapping part
This album will always remind me of fall/winter of 2011/early 2012, I remember being 13 coming off the school bus on snow days with this album playing in my headphones. Pretty much every kid in my grade was bumping this album.
It visually takes me back to when Mw3/battlefield 3 were the go to video games, hanging out w old friends dt, my older sis in her high school days watching jersey shore/teen wolf lmao, her bf at the time pmo to Drake's older mixtapes, Lebron playing for the heat.
Early 2010s had its own feeling for sure. Those who were in middle/high school when this dropped know what I'm talking about. This album solidified Drake's career in the rap game.
Well said
Yes maaaan, I feel the same way!
The Weeknd helped a lot with the album fun fact. I don’t remember how much he played into it but straight classic.
Based off of listening, I think he had a lot of influence throughout...but I didn't look at exact credits for everything.
Supposedly he gave half the album to him, but only they know 🤣
@@christosmusick 4 songs
@@ShelbyShuffleMode Just so you know people like to overexaggerate weeknds influence on this album a lot. He had his hand in cowriting 2 songs and was featured on 2 and that about it. Drakes main producer 40 literally said himself that Abel was with them for maybe two days of the whole album recording process. Its super annoying when people try to downplay the amount of work Drake and 40 put into this album by just saying oh thats all the weeknd.
He only contributed to 4 songs.
Shot For Me - He helped on the hook and did background vocals
Crew Love - Was a demo he made that Drake wanted for his album
Practice - He wrote the hook.
Good Ones Go - He did background vocals
I still remember when this album dropped one of my metal head friends came to me and was like "you HAVE to listen to this new Drake album" I was so confused because he NEVER listened to rap. Instant classic, I still remember the moment I heard the album for the first time. Great times man
Can't believe we got a first reaction to Marvin's Room 🤣 I thought everyone's heard it
I think a lot of people heard it on the radio but didn’t actually listen to the whole album
If you liked Take Care, Nothing Was the Same might be his best work.
Yes but she’ll love Views more than any drake album 😅😅
@@onion9486 Nah Nothing Was The Same, then If You’re Reading This, THEN Take Care
@@onion9486 just nah
@@onion9486 n… ah

If you loved Crew Love please listen to the original version with another whole verse by Abel on it. It was originally his song and his extra verse sounds amazing.
I wonder if she realizes that this means she has to do the rest of his albums now
Take Care doesn’t receive the praise it deserves considering how well it’s aged. Nothing was the Same was just as good. Both are a perfect balance of singing and rapping.
Huh? When is Take Care ever not praised lol? Even when drake drops something today its always judged against Take Care for a reason.
@@wiisportsmatt9775 true but people talk more about TPAB or MBDTF when going over the best rap albums of the 2010s and rightly so.. i just think Take Care was way more influential
@@johndamario2546 100% under appreciated . No one talks about how influential drake is, it’s annoying lol
@@koki9244 And the Weeknd too, he produced take care too
@@laflame0284 The Weeknd didn't produce no damn Take Care, he co-wrote 4 songs out of 20 (2 of them he was featured, so he only wrote his part), that's it. There's a whole 16 songs where he was not involved at all
I recently had my first listen to this album and I must say, wow. Doing It Wrong, Marvins Room, and Shot For Me are just incredible! Love Crew Love, Lord Knows, Headlines, and HYFR as well, but those 3 hit different
I’m so glad you did this, this album is the reason why I found my fav artist of all time (Abel), and is also one of my favourite albums of all time 😍
'Take Care' is Drake's best album and one of the greatest albums of the 2010's.
one of the best albums of all time it’s a classic
Of all time? Na bad take right there
@@AJGaming-cf4zh it’s a classic, dummy.
Take care is extremely overrated

Take Care is definitely my favorite Drake album.
You should definitely also react to Nothing Was The Same and If You're Reading This It's Too Late, because those albums are also very good and arguable his best projects.
I love watching first time reactions to Take Care, one of the best albums ever made !
I really enjoyed this video. Almost made it feel like it was my first time listening to the classic album all over again. Thank you!
Wow the nostalgia. This album takes me all the way back to middle school.
You should react to good kid, m.A.A.d city since you reacted to TPAB. It´s also gonna be 10 years old soon!
i love that you enjoyed the instrumentals of these songs because i rarely see them get addressed and appreciate that but i wish you dug deep into some of the lyrics. some of my favorite lines by drake are on this album
I'm glad I found your video, I absolutely love this album and real glad you enjoyed it. Vibing right along w you 😂
There was one track that was on some editions on the album called Hate Sleeping Alone. That song is amazing and sadly it wasn't included in this video but I understand as one some platforms you won't have access to it
This is a classic album it forever lives on the playlist
This album got me through some rough nights. I would listen to it from start to finish 2 or 3 times during my shift when I was working over night at a terrible job.
I will always have a myriad of thoughts and memories while listening through all of these songs.
If you like the variety of beats, guest appearances and overall eclectic nature of this album, I highly recommend Diddy-Dirty Money: Last Train To Paris.
It's a similar fun album from start to finish and I think it would also make for a great listen/reaction.
man i love ppl who react in the narrative that u do; you're not hell bent/only focusing on the lyrics (so many ppl do as if thats the only thing that matters in music), you're digesting and appraising the instrumentals, the atmospheres, giving general takes to the instrumentation, and just Understanding the vibe the material brings. Really fresh reaction u got here, enjoyed every second of this.
Loved your reaction, I’m 2 years late but I’m hoping you’ve done the rest! Drakes first 4 albums are arguably classics
I just started crying while watching this because the way you reacted and how your emotions were brought back so many memories from that era.
Good ears Shelby!!! Shot for me and few more were heavily influenced by The Weeknd even tho he's not included in it you can tell just by hearing it
'Shot for Me' was Co-written by The Weeknd, as well as 'Practice' (and then he was feature twice) .
Everything else: Marvin's Room, Doing It Wrong, Headlines, The Real Her, HYFR, etc was all Drake and 40 only
I cannot wait on till the lover boy album to drop 🔥🔥🔥
23:54 I maintain this is Drakes best work and the Jon B sample is inspired.
Yes!, I been searching for someone to react at this album but didn’t find nothing, I’m actually excited (lord knows is my favorite) :)
John Denton has great reactions
First time OMGGGG...Take Care is one of my favorite albums of all time !!
From Take Care to Lord Knows is imo the greatest 6 song run in hip hop history
I love sad drake. Add in all of the piano, harmonica and vocal samples and this just sounds timeless.
FUN FACT: Stevie Wonder did the harmonica solo in “Doing It Wrong”. Glad you love the album. Deserved the Grammy it received.
your energy is amazing ! keep up the good work
Love your reactions! The sample in “Cameras” is an old Jon B song, “Calling on You”!
"MY CITY LOVE ME LIKE MAC DRE IN THE BAY"
AYYY RIP Mac Dre
Bay Area Stand Up
Loved the video as expected... just wondering if you're ever gonna do more Frank Ocean albums like Nostalgia Ultra, Endless or The Lonny Breaux Collection?
I definitely plan to. I am going to find nostalgia ultra on SoundCloud now that I know I can find it there!
When Drake is gone people will finally realize we will never get anyone like Drake ever again...

Except majority people listening today cant name half his discography. Sad asf.

One of my fav reactions to Take Care Shelby. I was a junior in high school when this dropped. 😂 So many memories ✨✨
The person singing on Cameras/ Good ones go is not the weekend it’s a sample of a song from a 90s R&B artist called Jon B who’s amazing.
Lord Knows, Shot for me, The Real her, Underground Kings, Crew Love some of my favorites
You my favorite channel now you got so much success coming ya way you know music

GOOD CALL ON THE WEEKND VOCALS ON HEADLINES. I DIDNT FIGURE THAT OUT FOR MONTHS WHEN THIS FIRST CAME OUT
I’m so jealous right now. I wish I could be listening to this masterpiece for the first time

Nothing Was the Same is Drakes best by far for me! Definitely gotta get to that one next, love the reactions!
10 years from now it’s still the same feeling as the first time or maybe more of it
Every time you asked if it was the weeknd ...it was honestly half of my favorite parts of this album are because of abel not to take anything away from drake he killed it
Marvins Room will forever be the saddest drake song 🎵 💔

Damn... First time hearing one of my, if my my #1 personal favorite Drake Album. It's got a special place in my heart.
The one thing I did hear about this album after all these years, is that MOST of the drake singing songs were meant for tracks that were intended for The Weeknd. Some being unfinished beats/ melodies. Some you can literally hear the Weeknd in the background lol.
And from what I've heard, that "Doing it wrong" harmonica was supposedly Stevie Wonder.
Fun fact, that was Stevie Wonder playing the harmonica on "Doing It Wrong". Drake used the solo from his song "Jorja Interlude".
You deserve so many subs!!
The memories🥲 Shot for me is still my favorite from this album🔥
I loved when you laughed at yourself during Headlines! Infectious. Great reaction
Casuals say “Take Care” was his best album when in reality it’s actually “Nothing Was The Same”. 13 tracks of greatness.
Drakes career has been carried by other artist.
Take care- The Weeknd
IYRTITL- Quentin Miller
Views- PND
Scorpion - Quentin Miller/PND
Real drake was so far gone and thank me later. But idk I’m just a casual since the Jimmy Brooks days. 🤷🏻♂️

Nah take care will always be better
@@onion9486 is a dumb opinion and should be called out
the vocals during the hook on cameras is actually just the sample they used. It's pitched up and obviously sped to match the tempo. Jon B- Calling On You
Whoa! This is Nostalgic. Thank youu!
That was actually Stevie Wonder playing the harmonica on Doing It Wrong
Too bad the version you was listening to didn’t have “Hate Sleeping Alone.” Keep doing Drake albums please
Stevie Wonder on the harmonica solo! 🔥🔥🔥
One of my top 5 favorite albums
Cameras chorus was a sample from Jon B : keep me calling
Love this album brings back so many memories. Imo nothing was the same I said best album u should definitely check it out
The Harmonica was actually Stevie Wonder on the harmonica, another instrumental he's proficient at using like found on "That's what friends are for"
on cameras its not the weeknd, its a sample from a jon b song. he was an r&b artist in the late 90s
Man... These were the years.. nostalgic af. Life was simpler when this dropped
artist of the decade
The feature on Cameras/ Good ones go is a Jon B sample “Calling on You”
It's crazy to look back on this album after knowing how involved The Weeknd was all of a sudden I can see the influence clear as day on Shot For Me it almost sounds like they tried to make him sound like Abel on it
That Lord Knows beat is produced by Just Blaze, he’s famous for those soulful, hard hitting drums type of beats. He’s one of the best producers ever, got his start with Jay Z… check his other stuff
Cameras and Look What You've done have really been my favorite for Years. and The Ride!
