You just described everything I felt while playing this game.
Same here. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't as good as the first. What he said about the level design was exactly how I felt. Unfortunately though, there will be no Epic Mickey 3 to make up for this games shortcomings. Junction Point shut down and because this game didn't sell very well, I doubt Disney Interactive will find a new developer to work on a 3rd game. Its sad but ultimately isn't going to happen. :(
Really??? That's really a bummer!! The second wasn't as good as the first but I would give them another try for a 3rd but I guess not now :(
Haley Hembree yeah it sucks. I wish that Junction Point didin't shut down because of their creativity. If they'd just sharpened the mechanics and controls a bit then it could have been up there with Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank and Sly Cooper. I doubt there will be a third but I really hope someone takes the reigns of the series and does make an EPIC third! :)
I totally agree!! There were just a few things that they needed to fix. I hope so too! :) It doesn't hurt to dream! XD haha!

What about Roger & Jessica Rabbit? That should have at least SOME potential for jokes, and maybe even swapping Oswald for Roger for their appearance(s), a la "Kingdom Hearts".

The vultures from the jungle book
The aristocats
Chip and Dale
Clara cluck
The 3 caballeros(including animatronic donald)
The Aracuan bird
The giant from the mickey cartoons
Professor Von Drake and so many others.
What about the rest of the Gremlins, like the Fifinellas Widgets, or Spandules?
Don't forget the Treasure Planet cast.
I like to think that Epic Mickey's two games suffered the same that happened with the Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland movies.
The first one is actually nice and it came up with amazing designs and ideas for the concept, a REALLY GOOD story, and an athmosphere that is darker yet interesting to analize with tons of references. But the second one isn't as great as we expected it will be, the story can be interesting in a few moments, but most of the time it's boring and it doesn't offers that much of good or memoreble moments, and see the change of the darker atmosphere in exchange of a "colorfull and kinda happy" atmosphere was something dissappointing, the characters (old and new) aren't that great.
I'm sure that there are many grammar mistakes in the comment up here, sorry, I'm not that good at writing. But even with that, I think it's still understandable. (I think I messed up this one too)

That could also apply to Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, at least in atmosphere. Though Galaxy 2’s gameplay is still in tact.
I agree. The real sad part is, the second game fixed so much and had cool things like costumes and voice acting, so it's hard to play either game now. If I go to the first I have to go with clunky gameplay and no voice acting, and if I go to the second I have to deal with a lame story and less cool areas.

(Except the first one I remember most of it but my memory is a little iffy when it come to that one)
I have a really conflicting history with Epic Mickey as a whole. It had a really strong story, but the execution was half-baked. I remember the original concept art as well. It looked awesome. But, although the enemies were creepy in the game, they weren't as intimidating as they should have been.
And there's another thing. The premise of the game is that Yen Sid made a world for rejected and/or forgotten characters, movies, attractions, etc. Junction Point Studios was given access to the Disney archives. There is SO much they could have used for the game. For example, the rejected designs for the Seven Dwarfs, the rejected Hunter from The Jungle Book, etc.
What we got was 50% obscure/rejected characters, 20% Peter Pan, 15% remember this from this movie? and 15% generic horse/cow NPCs. The only truly rejected characters that appeared were the Gremlins.
Epic Mickey 2 feels more like an episode for a TV show. Not a sequel to an epic game.
Heck, I was watching one of AniMat's Animation Lookback on Don Bluth. He mentioned that on the film "Rock A Doodle", Disney made sketches for the rooster. But, it was unfinished and not got made. Another character that should bein in the sequel would be the "Jabberwocky" who was originally going to be in the Disney's Alice in Wonderlands from 1951. But was considered to scary. Here's another great example for new characters in the third game.

I hope, one of the fans of the Epic Mickey series tells Warren Specter to add more forgotten characters. I mean, the sequel had The Three Little Pigs. But, they should add more characters like Pluto's original love interest "Fifi",Clarice who were both Chip N Dale's love interest,Clara Cluck, Elmer Elephant and the girl tiger from Silly Syphony's "Elmer Elephant"!

Second one is too light-hearted getting rid of the Darkness of Wasteland felt off.
When I first heard about this game, I didn't care about the gameplay, the controls, the story, or anything.
I was only hyped because you could play as Oswald in co-op.
You actually can return to Mean Street during the main story. Just get the Film Reel and hit the Spinny thing on the projector until the Mickey Mouse thing shows up and it'll take you back to the Mean Street cinema.
You know what would be great… making a epic Mickey movie by the WDAS (Walt Disney Animation Studios team), industrial light and magic(to replace junction point since I think they went out of business) and be directed by Henry Selick and Rich Moore. That way people who don’t own a Wii or didn’t experience it on wii (I didn’t) can experience it for the first time just in a different way

That's not a fact, though; That's your opinion. Regardless, yes, the game itself isn't that short: However, it FEELS shorter because of how little you end up going back to Mean Street compared to the first game.

The bit with you on the can and hearing Gus congratulate you for doing your business, I have to say whoever did the impersonation of Gus wasn't too far off from sounding like the real thing! And yes, what irks me the most about this game is the lack of new forgotten characters. Heck, if I had done the story for the game it'd be a war between the characters from the first one and new forgotten characters from, oh say, an even more forgotten location of the Wasteland. Just saying.

Figment and dreamfinder would be great additions! Disney actually considered adding the hatbox ghost to the first game. ( He was a character scrapped from the haunted mansion after a few days because he didn't work, but was never repaired because he was too scary)

So Animat, I recently received news that Disney,Pixar, and Marvel movies(all of them) would be on Netflix, i got SUPER EXCITED, and then i found out that it would only be in 2016 and after(due to their current contracts with the Starz channel)
I think they tried to do too much with EM2, they should have stuck to the core ideas and branched them out SLIGHTLY.

TFW you accidentally trigger the Bad ending so you start a new save, but you forgot to do that Horace quest and he looks super sad in the ending
I'd imagine the Mad Doctor having his skeleton exposed and walked like TF4 lockdown style,then different tf4 lockdown ships appeared in the background of mean street south and his Beetleworx army in the background just to know that the game isn't over. I just wished that it happened in the game though. And also on the gremlin prescott EM2 Wikipedia trivia says that in the early drafts of the game prescott was supposed to be KILLED OFF in the script of the game (in prescott's areana) so people removed the script from the game.

I would love to see your ideas. I really hope, in the third game for Epic Mickey. They would be more and more forgotten disney character from the 1930s,1940s and the 1950s. I would email him about this problem. After all, the sequel did fix the camera problem from the first game. So maybe, if they make the third one. Then the people behind the series, would add more forgotten or rejected characters.

Oh what a shame. I got my little brother the first game for Christmas a few years ago.
It's a lot better in co op, let me tell you. Me and my dad play it together. He's always Mickey, and I'm always Oswald. The Mean Street thing is an issue, but we work around it by doing what we can on each visit. I'm having trouble on Epic Mickey, so I'm just playing Epic Mickey 2 until I figure it out.

@ 7:15, I kept going that one place and Gus kept saying that phrase over and over and over again. But no matter what, I LOVE this game and the first one. The first one may be a little better because if how dark and twisted it was. :)

One of the things I really hate about this game is the new enemies; The Blotworx. The first one you meet is a very easy and basic one, but then they give this car with a single wheel, and that one is just so annoying to deal with, especially when you find ones that have missles.

1. I confess, I sold mine years ago to a GameStop (way before news came out about how awful they are) in exchange for game show shovelware. I think I got mad at the camera at some point before the Clock Tower.

...An Epic Mickey 3 is rather unlikely at this point. "Epic" Mickey 2 did so poorly that Disney actually had to shut down Junction Point. At the current moment, Disney has no interest in continuing the Epic Mickey series.
