- Yellowjackets often nest in the ground but just as well prefer human built structures to nest in. As this situation illustrates, a colony of Vespula maculifrons made itself right at home in this homeowners basement. Footage from a September 3, 2017 removal.
I sat here for 10 minutes watching yellow jackets get sucked into a vacuum cleaner. And like others I found it strangely satisfying.
Did anyone count?

That nest didn’t seem big enough to house so many hornets. They just kept coming. Great video.

Hearing your shout out to Dirtrooster, who I got into from following Mr. Ed, who I got into from watching YOUR videos, which I started watching a couple of months ago because of my fascination with wasps & bees is like a total serendipitous epoch! Seeing as I am contemplating a career change, as I will be loosing my job at the end of the year, this is just amazing to have happen for me!

I don't mind watching 20 minutes of yellowjackets getting sucked up, but I was hoping there would be more malice on these little bastards, who move in uninvited, then make like they own the place...like maybe at least you stomping on the deck to piss them off, or something like that...this video was way too sterile and business like...I think honeybees are great little creatures, and I totally appreciate what they do for us, but I want to see violence and revenge upon these little pricks!!
