If not for nothing, fellas of the Reading & Northern, 2102 is easily the CLEANEST locomotive I have ever seen. From smokebox to tender she is spotless! Thats a rare thing. Well done!
Magnificent catches of the trains coming by and pass, I like it 5 stars. Thumbs up. Keep up the perfect work, you earned a new subscriber, Greetings from Portugal to the USA.
This is just awesome how they seem to run her a full bore for a good chunk of the trip! What was the reason for throwing the diesels on the train at 15:39 taking her through the gap?
The grade was near 2% in spots I heard so 210/ needed extra braking help. It definitely made for a good show later on the return trip as you can see near the end after exiting Pittston yard!
I think I was either right in front of you or right behind you during your chase of it near Tunkhannock. As when you passed that person in the purple shirt I was right nearby the engine at that same area chasing it too.
@@nyrailfilms It's right along Tunnel Road actually lol. Where I was had a pretty steep slope down from the road, so I would recommend giving yourself some time to get down there haha. The reason I was behind those people in the shot was because I just got down and 2102 was already in the tunnel, and there weren't any really flat spots to set up
@@nyrailfilms Dupont is the one I got because of the nice scenery, but idk about anywhere else. Heading back towards Penobscot is obviously great anywhere since it's such a steep uphill grade and 2102 really has to work. I went to Laurel Run here, but Solomon Gap is another good spot I hear. Unfortunately I don't think I'm going to be able to chase the return trip out of Pittston if it's after 4pm in 2 weeks because I'm busy that evening, but I might try to get it there
Great video man! Hopefully, the chase wasn't completely foamer central. There are a lot of great shots and locations you can get along this route but you definitely can't get them all, whether it be because of terrain, time, or traffic. Nonetheless, as long as you had fun, then things should be golden!
@@toomanytododge2594 You’re in the ballpark, but the Hooter is on the 2102 since she was originally used for freight trains like the rest of the T-1s. The 6 chime was added during the original Iron Horse Rambles from 1962-1964. Ol’ 2102 has worn numerous whistles several times down the years, but ever since the late 1980s up until 1991, that Hooter has remained a consistent whistle for the engine.

I got the car or two in front of me when we fell back a bit to 2102 so you can see if one of them is you lol
Great footage!
Great video, that was me in the biplane…….
You had the whole train's attention! Everyone in my coach was amazed!
Excellent stunts! I got all those very cool stalls and acrobatics on film and the video will be uploaded soon.
Put on an incredible show 🙌
great video! is the white haven tunnel easy access?

Great whistle! Nice bite to it! I wonder which one it is?
Support the acquisition of the Shamokin Valley RR by the Reading and Northern.

Thanks, man! It was an absolute blast and the steep grades made it the best excursion yet
Nice! Was there any specific reason why diesel engines were utilized for pulling the entire train at some parts?
Down through Laurel Run, the grade is extremely steep so they needed the dynamic braking
how much time did u have to get between white have and white haven tunnel? seems like quite the stretch to make it that distance
@@ConnecticutRailFilms 10 minutes, maybe. The train was in the tunnel as I was going down the hillside
I'm famous!! 11:07
What was with the diesels halfway through the first part of the trip?
Extra braking power because it was too steep of a grade
Dynamic braking down the hill. It's to help preserve the longevity of the brakeshoes.
@@firelynx1108765 did that same grade in 2015 with no issues
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
does 2102 have 2 whistles on her?
yep
It has its classic reading 6 chime and a hooter the reason for the hooter is because the locomotive can be so loud at times it drowns out the 6 chime.
