The first four minutes are simply fantastic. That deafening stack leaves you speechless in real person and your video gave me that same rush. Simply fantastic coverage of these runs in one exhilarating journey.
Beautifully shot video with fine sound. I loved the mix of focal lengths and perspectives, including the tele-compressed renderings of the train. The blasting out of tunnel at ~4:00 is thrilling. Well done!
I'm wondering the same thing, because it seems like they just pick a whistle at random most of the time, both whistles are beautiful and iconic but it is kinda strange
Same, 2102 is a veteran excursion star and one of the owners of her was the High Iron Company led by founder Ross Rowland Jr and they did excursions with her on both the CNJ and DL&W cut off from Hoboken to Binghamton
Amazing shots and great filmography, my *one* critique is not letting the train fully go by many times, it shows the true power of the locomotive seeing the entirety of the train trundle by.
@ no no you’re fine! It really is just an editor’s choice, I do take letting the full train pass as a consideration to those that do enjoy it, though sometimes for video pacing it works better to cut it with a different angle to help it flow better… and for whatever I happen to choose to do as it happens 😅
Hope this happens again next year. I filmed this excursion too, although a stayed between Falls and Tunkhannock for it. Also beautiful video, pretty good audio quality
Diesels had to be added to the front of the train down the mountain between Penobscot and Pittston due to the hill being too steep to provide reliable braking with the train. Dynamic braking works better on diesels and offers better control than air over a longer distance, so it was done for safety.

What a stunning engine and even more stunning sound! Great job!
Excellent production!
I’ve always wondered, why does 2102 have two whistles? Is it like, one for the engineer, and one for the fireman depending on the curve?

I was curious to see how your shot came out at 18:24 It looks to me like it turned out nice. Good job
Excellent!! 👏😊
Awesome video!
2102 is my favorite Steam locomotive since her base is pretty unique compared to most Northern locomotives.

This is pretty awesome, good stuff
When 425 comes back, she can do a third time doubleheader by leading 2102 this time!
Great captures! I was also able to see 2102 on August 17 as well as May 25 👍
I was there too on the May 25th Ramble
@@Voucher765 Cool you were also at the May Ramble.

07:30 Why here with diesel traction? Was the line not free for the steam locomotive?

I was at Pittston when the 2102 chugged in, She was helped by 2 diesels up the grade
what camera are you using? This came out fantastic
Canon 90D
Hope to see 2102 be reunited with his older brother, no. 2100 once returned to operation
