- As storm Dennis arrives in the northeast myself and two mates Stephen Roney and Christopher Robertson head out to simonside hills in Northumberland for a wildcamp to test our kit and ourselves it was a wet and wild storm as we were high up it got very cold but we survived the night hope you enjoy the video thanks for supporting the channel atvb Jimmy 😎😎

I chickened out of wild camping under storm Dennis but pleased you did and lived to tell the tale and show us how its done. I think your stove is ok, those butane canisters don't work well when its cold and may work better when the weather warms up. ATB, Damian.

A thoroughly enjoyable watch and well filmed. I'm from Midlands but had no problem understanding your accent (got used to it when Auf Wiedersehen Pet first aired!). Loved the sound of rain splattering on the canvas.....brought back memories! I went from tenting to caravanning then motorhomes. But then i'm an old fart almost 70 and we all get soft eventually! Before your video i'd just been watching a yankee guy wildcamping but he was right upmarket.......tent with mini log burning stove/cooker inside the tent!

@@LundysWildcampBushcraft Enjoy while you can eh? Best tent i ever owned was a Vango Force 10 which i bought second hand for £45 and 10 years later sold it for £125!! The only money i spent on it was reproofing the canvas. Soon as the advert went on my phone rang off the damn hook and could easily have sold it ten times over....even had two buyers arguing over who had got to me first! Mad!!
I don't get the thumbs down and the stupid text speak comments about a lack of Bushcraft, Survival and just laying down and urinating in a bottle. Where do these lobotomised idiots come from! Anyway, I enjoyed watching and the banter even if you North Easterners can be difficult to understand at times. Glad to see someone else who feels it necessary to carry everything including the kitchen sink - personally, I can't get near these lightweight minimalist kit guys. I don't think that the length of a video really matters IF it is interesting, folk will watch it all the way through or, as I do on really long hour videos, in bits and pieces as time permits. Content is King over length of time and you can never please all of the people all of the time. Subbed.

I actually got on a ferry to Rotterdam.. storm dennis followed us across... the ferry guys said its a force 10 and would get "a bit choppy".. didnt get much sleep that night as we crashed down numerous times..

Lundy it wasnt the stove , the butane can got too cold , iso butane is formulated to function in freezing temp, put the butane can in ya bivy as you sleep the heat will help it

Walked down that road a few times returning from walks on Simonside Hills. Last time I walked those hills the paths had turned to tumbling streams and small rivers. Still had a great day though!

@@LundysWildcampBushcraft My pleasure! It's nice to relive those past moments. My daughter, who is a volunteer guide, for the Northumberland National Park introduced me to it some years ago. It's one of my favourite areas for walking, at any time of the year, though it pays to be careful on breezy days, not to get too close to those precipitous cliff faces. It's not only the views that are magnificent, but the wind can literally, take your breath away.
