"natural process for biting to occur during breeding" sorry, but not always. Bettas are extremely territorial, this could be from other "tries" to find a male match, from other females, or even from this one, but in the beginning. But yes, it is natural.
Yeah because the customers of Walmart suck. I was the pets department manager at my Walmart and we had to stop selling bettas because customers kept shaking them and scaring them literally to death.
I had one that lived for like 6 months after I bought him. He only died because of the hurricane that hit in October when we had no lights or water. His fish tank got extremely dirty over that period of time.

@@yukiko5819 after the mating the female drops the eggs in a trance. When she comes too she will mostly eat them and the male will kill her as well. His sole purpose in life at that moment is to care for and guard the eggs. However you cannot put food on the breeding tank (usually) and he is starving and after they hatch he will eat some or all of them if you do not get him out. Others experience may be different. BTW the male will pick up the eggs with his mouth and gently place the into the bubble nest that he has been building before the mating even happens he builds the nest that's how you know it's coming .
I would love to see how one of those Dutch aquarium horticultural folks would do it. That would be a perfect natural lovely way to handle it but that's way beyond my scope. I did normally keep them in 10 gallon ariated tanks with minimum foliage. But I only tried breeding 2 times so I'm not really a professional or serious hobbyist. You could probably do better than me with proper time to devote to it. I didn't really have the time to-do what I really wanted to do and that was to breed a less aggressive more passive and cohabitable Betta. They are awesome but have been bred for hundreds and hundreds of years to fight.
@@yukiko5819 He'll kill all of them. Male Bettas are very territorial and aggressive and will kill any fish that are smaller than them. I too learned this the hard way when I was young and had a tank full of small fish and one male betta. He ate out their eyes and bit off their tails. So, if you ever happen to get one, just remember that it's best to keep him alone.
Emma Strawberry Then they fight each other. Male and female betta fish will attack each other if they don't get along. However, assuming the breeder is responsible, they'd have them see each other before being placed in the same tank so it wouldn't happen off the bat.

No because Twilight is good
Lol yes!
‘Betta’ love story than twilight
I thought the dad was eating the eggs it was just catching it and place in the surface water with air bubbles
Me too.
I think he did eat a few tho
That’s what u thought as well
Oh really? Ok TYSM for this! I was wondering if the male at the eggs cuz I'm doing research on betta breeding so thx!
@@Orchid_Arts after breeding you need to take the female betta in a different tank, because she eats the eggs
SO THATS WHY MY BETTA HAS THOSE BUBBLES. he doesnt have a mate tho :( UPDATE HE HAS A LADY NOW! TRYNA PAIR THEM.
UPDATE! THEY HAD EGGS YESTERDAY AND MY MALE BETTA IS TAKING GOOD CARE OF THE EGGS. HOPING THEY WILL ALL HATCH!
Edit after 1 year: Sadly, only one survived. It’s an adult female betta now. Although I learned it the hard way, I’m just happy I was able to keep 1 alive and healthy. If you wanna pursue betta breeding, i recommend watching dexter’s world videos on betta. I learned a lot from him. Too bad I found the channel after what happened
Update: the only betta fry that survived is still alive and well. It's a female betta!
UPDATE! SO I THOUGHT HE ATE THE EGGS CAUSE I COULD BARELY SEE ANY, AFTER A FEW HOURS I SAW SOME KINDA LIKE WHITE TADPOLES FALLING AND SWIMMING! AND HE CATCHES THEM AND BRINGS THEM BACK TO THE BUBBLE! HOPING THEY ALL SURVIVE! IM SO HAPPY RN I THOUGHT THEY WERE GONE!
Lornie Missteriously how did it go?
@@marisagrandin1514 well :( since its my first time it didnt go well. A lot of my fries died, but I still have some of them left. I fed them baby brine shrimp, some of them died due to over feeding unfortunately, I have one that has swim bladder disorder/disease so now im treating it in a separate tank. Im trying to breed again and really try my best to keep all if not atleast 80% of them alive.

Some of those fish are brighter than my future
TigerLily YTGaming they must not be to bright then
Poor girl suffering fin rot. I hope she's doing okay.
You have a perfect camera quality, by the way.
That was tail biting from the breeding process.
Yeah I found out after I posted my comment.
They recover fast, its a natural process for biting to occur during breeding.
DeadlyxXxNightShades That was a crowntail betta.
"natural process for biting to occur during breeding" sorry, but not always. Bettas are extremely territorial, this could be from other "tries" to find a male match, from other females, or even from this one, but in the beginning. But yes, it is natural.
"complete life cycle"
doesn't show death
The fact that a lot of us thought we were going to see dead fish and still clicked on it.

Their colors combined turned out beautiful.
Unfortunately they only last 3 minutes in Walmart
Yeah because the customers of Walmart suck. I was the pets department manager at my Walmart and we had to stop selling bettas because customers kept shaking them and scaring them literally to death.
@@motiemo that's nature baby
I got a few from Walmart they last a long time.

I know this is an older video but I still had to say.... AMAZING ! So very well done.
It's beautiful but...
I feel weird watching fish have sex...
Fairy_Tail_Jerza just pretend they're hugging
MilkyTaiyaki Yeah lol
MilkyTaiyaki I thought they were hugging
Fairy_Tail_Jerza a
Fairy_Tail_Jerza they aren't actually having sex at least that isn't what most mammals consider to be so. he's actually just basically "asking" her to drop eggs and then he catches them, spits them out and fertilizes them in a completely separate process by milting (cumimg for the more crass) over them. so be assured what you're seeing in this video is 100% pg fishy hugs and dancing

I learned 2 things the hard way.
After eggs are dropped get her out.
After fry begin to hatch get him out.
Wait. What happens if you dont do any of those 2 things?
I've never had fish pets or betta pets.
@@yukiko5819
He'll kill all of them.
Ooh i see, thanks!
I once was about to have a betta fish and put him on a tank full of other small fishes. Thank god i didnt do that.
wow they come in so many colours!? all so beautiful :)

What happens when the woman says no? 😂
Emma Strawberry Then they fight each other. Male and female betta fish will attack each other if they don't get along. However, assuming the breeder is responsible, they'd have them see each other before being placed in the same tank so it wouldn't happen off the bat.
He will kill it....chos! hahahahaha
