very solid one. i have it running for 4 years now and easy to navigate the configurations
Your video was helpful (if you follow the QR code from the box it gives you NOTHING), but it's missing 2 important steps. After rebooting the router through the router's web interface, you will see "cannot connect" from the web router interface. At that point, you have to switch your ethernet cables so that your ISP's cable goes to eth0, and your desktop's cable goes to eth1 (through your switch in your case). Then you have to switch back to DHCP on your desktop. And you might have to reboot your cable modem / router (not sure, I did that too trying to figure it out).
That intro was perfect!

It’s like the USG finally grew up and added more switches, now I want one.
The ports on the front of this device are not switch ports, they are simply additional ethernet interfaces. You can make them behave as switch ports by binding them to a existing network within the edge router, but it is not recommended as it will take a lot of processing power (which can be scarce on the ERX). The USG serves a different product line as it can be adopted to a UniFi controller and has a very limited web UI, The Edge Routers are intended for configuration mainly through the web interface and the command line. Ubiquiti has also enabled management through UISP (formally UNMS) which is a UniiFi like experience for the EdgeMax line of devices, while controlling the devices directly and not relying on a central controller.
@@mpjvending I read that the Edgerouter X doesn't consume processing power to operate as Switch. The documentation says that there's a separate electrical components to work as Switch, not demanding routing power from router.
Hi, i have edgerouter x with firmware 2.09. I use wan 1 and wan 2. Wan 2 is starlink. Normal speed in wan 2 is 200mbit of download and 20 of upload. With my ubiquiti router the speed came limited to 60/70 mbit in download, why ?
I have enabled/disabled ipsec and hwnat but the problem is always the same.
Thanks a lot for the help.
This is caused by ants shorting out the wires on eth0
Very interesting auto focus sound
Thanks for paying attention to that
That router is adorable lol
