well, then the new GI JOE which is in the style of this I think is coming out soon.
I liked it enough that I bought this and cowabunga collection twice. Only because I don’t play my switch anymore but pc/steam deck.

This game was developed by the same crew that did Streets of Rage 4. So it's no wonder it was a solid beat em up game. 10/10

actually a bit of a correction there...DoTemu yes has their name on both games yes....but their team only developed Streets of Rage 4...they PUBLISHED Shredder's Revenge but Tribute Games (the ones who are gonna make that Metal Slug Tactics game next) are the ones who developed Shredder's Revenge
As Avalon mentioned, Dotemu published both games but they did not develop TMNT. So not the same crew.

Its great, how this video is really about a guy hanging out with his friend. Thats it. Its a breath of fresh air to see, aside from all the fast paced plainly intentional content or negative content out there. Nerd just sets up a camera and hangs out, reminiscing with his friend from his childhood. Its beautiful in a way ngl.

Funny thing is, I haven’t eaten alligator meat yet, but i HAVE eaten crocodile meat in Australia at my university’s campus during Aborigine Reconciliation Day. And I’ve also eaten kangaroo and emu as well as ANZAC biscuits. Just NEVER tell them about “throwing the shrimp on the barbie”.

Theyre now making these kinds of games for classic franchises. Toxic Crusaders is getting one, as is GI Joe, Mighty Morphing Power Rangers and even the Karate Kid.

I played Shredders revenge again over the 4th when the DLC pack went down to $6 for Switch. It's such a fun game to play- still haven't figured out the meta-game of constantly altering your combo to avoid getting the cheap-jab break from a Foot Soldier, but still lots of fun nonetheless.

Love it when new games are featured in this series. Next you guys should start bringing out more recent board games.
You can tell this game was a true labour of love by people who understood everything that made the originals so great. And, unlike with the recent Streets of Rage 4, these guys didn't go and completely ruin the art style imo.
Both games were actually made by the same developer, though with different collaborators helping.

genuinely was one of the most fun times with my best friend in many many MANY years in co-op was tmnt shredders revenge. Im 42 yrs old and I felt like a kid again playing that game.

Leonardo was always my favorite, followed by Raphael.
I enjoy these a lot more than James & Mike Mondays, John is just way more laid back than Mike, and I feel like he vibes better with James

19:30 We always called beat 'em ups brawlers back in the day. Brawlers, fighters, jumpers and sports. And then of course...the weird ones.
I had soooooo much fun with this game. Definitely a must play!
TMNT was such a huge part of pop culture in the early 90s. Our swimming center with flumes had building sized murals of the turtle gang next to an open air pizza parlour, along with arcade machines like Terminator 2 and Lethal Enforcers. Really set my childhood happiness to 10 when visiting. Had plenty of action figures too and the Nintendo games were not half bad, although nothing beat the actual Turtles arcade games. Shredder's Revenge really captured the identity of the cartoon and that vibe of the times.

17:55 TMNT 2012 had him turn into a fly. To a point, when he was injected with anti-mutagen by the Turtles, he was legit angry with them for turning him back into a full human being. Batman vs TMNT also had him as a fly, disgustingly so in one part.
And in Mutant Mayhem, the fly is a separate character called Superfly (he was voiced by Ice Cube).
Also, in the 2012 version, they ALWAY get Baxter Stockman’s name wrong.

I would have called this a fighting game back in the day, and technically, it's still true, for the beat 'em up is really a subgenre of the fighting game

You guys should play "Streets of Rage 4". After hearing you both reminisce about it, it would be the perfect 2 player game to play next. Just like this one, the soundtrack and gameplay is just what you would want to trigger that nostalgia!
