- On the move, the 308 GTI feels light and agile, with sharp steering and a willingness to change direction that I think is currently unmatched in the hot hatch segment. This is a characteristic most likely linked to a combination of factors: its low mass (1,205 kg claimed base weight), sticky Michelin SuperSport tires and the small steering wheel all come together to define its character.
However, not all is perfect: on the road, its suspension feels overly stiff and insufficiently well damped, and you’ll often find yourself bounced around a bit more than you’d like - yes, this is a sporty car, but using shocks made out of what feels like granite only makes it fast around a track, and in fact may make it slower and trickier to drive on the road.

''This particular car has the optional brakes'' no it doesn't. They are the standard brakes on the 270, and not an option at all on the 250.
The 270 pack is an option in and of itself, so the brakes are not standard therefore optional, although no, you can't have them separate from the 270 upgrade.
You were driving the 270 though.. for which the brakes are not optional as you said so. If you were driving the 250 it would be accurate.
Yes, fair point, but the 250 is essentially the standard 308 GTi and anything extra can be marked as optional - even the power hike from 250 to 270 PS. What I meant to say was that they are bigger than on the 250 but used way too few words to do it.
