Honestly, kind of glad people in town are actually figuring it out rather than being stupid-level oblivious. Sure, some people have been told the truth here and there and some being have found out inadvertently, but the whole town starting to piece it together is a breath of fresh air from usual superhero media where everyone around the character seems not to notice the growing coincidences and patterns. It particularly makes sense as Smallville is a small town where everyone knows each other instead of a city where you can go years without even knowing your neighbours name, and Clark grew up there so everyone knows him well enough to at some point go "hold on a minute".
I mean you'd be surprised how much people overlook really obvious things. Like not being able to tell through the glasses is one thing and has been demonstrated Cavill himself during a few different screenings of the film where only a few recognised him. But even bigger things like coincidences just piling up do eventually get ignored over time cause people have their own stuff going on.
The citizens of Smallville literally saw the Kents crying over the dead body of Superman, and they didn’t see Clark with them, at least not as Clark, What will their takeaway from that be?
Not when they saw him dead. When they saw the Kent family mourning, and then they saw one of Clark Kent's sons pick up Superman and vanish into the sky! Also, when Superman vanished, so did Clark Kent, and when Superman came back so did Clark Kent! Then Clark Kent left a shop and Superman arrived to save a plane on television, and when he left Clark Kent entered the shop! It was quite easy to connect the dots! Also, people knew of a Super Boy, and people in Smallville saw Jordan Kent fly into the sky! Also, after the Kent family moved to Smallville, Superman was seen there more often! How can Clark Kent not be Superman?
Idk how Lana didnt put it together she had a convo with superman a couple times and didnt recognize the voice & look, also when Clark was on bizzaro earth for a month and superman was missing Clark wasnt seen around either
