This was definitely a stressful time for the Kent/Lane household. Jonathan has to deal with the downside of having powers and keeping them secret, which Jordan knows all too well. Not to mention that Clark and Lois are fully aware of what Kyle and Chrissy are willing to do to afford their dream house. The stress reaches a boiling point when Clark and Lois find out that Candice knows Clark's secret because of Jordan. Now Clark is going to have a harder time keeping his secret because yet another person outside of Smallville knows it. Lois even provides an explanation as to why Clark is so protective of his secret. Clark's parents were very protective of Clark ever since he was 4, when he started developing his powers.

What was the boys valid reason? They are being extremely selfish no other way around it. They have super powers. They have a special privilege others simply will never have and they want to show it off. That is exactly what it is. That is what it keeps circling back to. They want to tell people about their powers. Why? So they can brag about it and show off. Sorry "stop hiding their powers" is their excuse even though showing off tends to be exactly what they keep doing with their powers. And can you imagine the pressure that would put on a teenage girl to be told their boyfriend has super powers? To know he could fold you in half like a piece of paper with ease. Great way to make sure she never leaves you I guess. Terrible way to have a functioning relationship though. Say what you will but Clark being extremely careful until he was an adult, waiting until he knew without a shadow of a doubt and propose marriage before sharing his secret to Lois was the right call.

Those two don’t really understand that their dad was the first hero ever with super powers. There have been crime fighters, masked vigilantes, all with some gimmicks and fancy weaponry but Superman was the first to move the earth with his strength. Clark was absolutely right to be upset with the boys because again it wasn't their secret to tell anyone, just because they have powers now and they want to show off doesn't mean that their father has to and they should respect that due to the fact that's their father's right to privacy and they're living under his roof therefore they have to abide by his rules no matter how much they dislike it, Jordan may have had his heart in the right place telling His brother's girlfriend, but it still was not his place to do it due to the fact that they had no Idea how she would respond to learning that about her own boyfriend, It wasn't okay for jordan to do that with his own girlfriend sarah because she wasn't in the appropriate mental headspace to know such a secret at that time, plus she broke his heart by cheating with someone from camp so if anyone wasn't deserving of knowing the truth about him it was her at that time, if they ended up breaking up with their girlfriends OH WELL!!! they are handsome, well put together young men they would have no trouble finding love interests that will accept them and understand their reasons for keeping secrets from them concerning their own family, If they truly loved them, they just have to be patient and trust the process and most importantly the boys need to trust their parents, especially their father who is one of the most popular superheroes in existence and one that Lex luther himself has such a hard on in destroying, who doesn't care who he has to go through to do it! 🙄😎😁🔥💯👍🏻

Clark needed to get over himself. Aside from the fact that HE already blew the secret already, he's making the common parental mistake of forgetting that his teenage sons will be legal adults sooner than he thinks. When they become adults, they will no longer have to put up with him, especially now that they both have the same powers he does. A lot of parents make this mistake, they get arrogant and think their authority will last forever. Having not spoken to my own father in 17 years, I can assure folks that fathers have a LOT less power than they think they do. Clark had to change or risk being cutoff from his own sons.
