- This geometry video tutorial provides a basic introduction into the median of a triangle. It provides the formula and equations necessary to calculate segment lengths within the median such as the distance between the vertex and centroid or between the midpoint and centroid. The median is the line segment that connects the vertex of a triangle to the midpoint of the opposite side. This video discusses the definition of the median as well as its properties. The median bisects the opposite side into two congruent segments. This video provides plenty of examples and algebra practice problems involving medians.

MR. Organic Chemistry Tutor, thank you for an awesome video/lecture on the Median of a Triangle in Analytic/Solid Geometry. This topic is straight forward and simple to visualize. The examples use the median of a Triangle Formula to find solutions.
Thank you man, you helped me to solve the question of physics.
I had a test tomorrow when I didn't even know how to do all this now I'm ready Thank you bro🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥✨
Omg thank you so much!! My teacher doesn’t teach well so I tend to get 50’s on my tests.

Thanks man you teach way better than any teacher in the world
nah i never comment on yt videos but this man eats all of my teachers up
Dude I have a math competition in 5 minutes you are a life saver. The notes my professor gave me suck.
thank you that was really helpful i like the way you teach
for all of you wondering why it is 2/3? I've proved it by finding the equation of two medians and find the intersection of those lines then find the distance between the intersection point which is the centroid and the vertex then find the distance between the same point and the midpoint of the side opposite to that vertex then find a relation between them which turns out to be 2:1 or you can say that the one between the vertex and centroid is 2/3 that median. pro tip assume one if the vertices to be the origin and the other to be on the x-axis (a,0) and the last one to be in the first quadrant (b,c)
Thank you sir u are a awesome teacher every teacher is like a dream changer 🙂🙂🙂
Bro ur better at teAching then me grammar school teacher. Keep it up!
THANK YOUR FOR SAVING MY GRADE

you literally saved me... thank you
Thank you for helping me so much 🙏🏿
Thanks, you help me in Class!!!✌😃
Clear all doubts .. Tq from India
Thank you!!
Please explain how the two areas are the same: asa, sss, etc....
Sss is side side side ....asa is angle side angle...aas is angle angle side ....sas is side angle side and (R)HL stands for (Right) hypotenuse legs. Then lastly there is cpctc which is Corresponding Parts of a Congruent Triangles are Congruent
thanks fro helping me get 12 marks on my assignment!
How did u bring the 2/3 of the median pls tell me and thx
3 is from how much the median the object have.
triangle is 3
I think he divided the 9 by the 3 and then multiplied the 3 from the
2
Because centroid is the point in the triangle which divides the median in the ratio 2:1..so overall AP/AE becomes 2/3
Sir the thing is that the median divides a triangle in a 2:1 ratio. And as u know how to find a ratio, it becomes ⅓ and ⅔ respectively
I would try to explain but you asked like two years ago 😭 I don’t know if you still want to know
How can you find the length of the sides if the median is given?
under root the sum of other two sides squared
Thanks for a such great tutorial!
This mans handwriting is better than mine on the copybook.
What a man u deserve a raise bruh
How did you get 2/3?
Thanks so much

Thank you somuch regarding this

13:26 it says PD=1/3BD so shouldn't he have put 1/3(4x-7) instead of 1/3(x^2+11) because the formula for BP is BP=2RD
if this is not a mistake can someone explain it to me
He is correct. Remember that BD is the whole median, PD is only a fraction (1/3) of BD.
BP=2PD means that PD is twice the value of BP so it's not a formula but a comparison.

Can i asked this. Find RV if RV = 2x - 10 and RW = x - 3
i love you more than i love anyone else
Thanks sir
mental note: there's no difference between a median & a side bisector, yet it's different from angle bisectors
True, a median always bisects a triangle's side into two congruent lines, just like an angle bisector always bisects a triangle's angle into two congruent angles. therefore a median is the same as the side bisector, synonymous.
Sir, AP=2/3(AE)
Please explain again...how ?

your lectures are amazing and very helpful however you arent good at seeking the attention of the viewer, I mean to say that your lectures are a bit boring so work on that, and you are best.
where did 2/3 and 1/3 came from? 5:37
is it fix? are these numbers always remain to be the values?
Yes
Median divides the ratio into 2:1
Thanks for this 😊😅😮😢🎉😂

Why it is 2/3
Yesss.
So why 2/3
It should be 2:1

this video is so confusing. you're suppose to be showing how to find the median... and i've yet to see how you actually find the that answer with a formula.

useless... i want to know the length of median if the sides are given
If all three sides are given,
use cosine rule to find one of the angles.
After that draw a median that doesn't cut the angle you just found and use trigonometry
It's possible because you have one given side, one angle and the unknown length of the median
You didn't have straight lines to begin with. Not a triangle
Don't be a hater ...
I hope you’re kidding sis
no shit, you better bring a ruler
Thank you!
