These videos have such a genuineness and warmness to them. It feels like you have been doing this for years. Im glad ive stumbled across this quality chanel.
hi kirby you tube suggested you channel cause like to look for diy videos since i dont have the money to pay for courses l love leaning to make things and making my own tools when i cant buy them. your im naturally mechanically inclined and enjoyed making mistakes when im learning to build things. i made speakers boxes but i always just replicated what was out there since i did not know much of how they work so in my journey to learning how they work and how to power them im am privileged to enjoy and learn from your site thank you. this fell out of the sky awesome
every time i post something about speakers always know that u are the first channel i would recommend to someone. Thank u for all these links!!!!!! amazing channel.
Dude you have a good personality for videos (no man love perceived or intended). Love speakers, building speakers, listening to music myself. Always been a huge passion of mine since reading my first Radio Shack guide to building speakers like literally 32 years ago. Keep the good stuff coming, and a BIG thanks for all the goodies!
When you created this you were at 1400 subs. Now just shy of 200K! Nice! Your videos are super informative and exactly what I need to be confident in making great elevation speakers for my Atmos setup. Thanks!
The amount of growth your channel has received accurately represents the amazing quality videos your producing! Keep up the great work because believe me mate your channel is going to grow much bigger, quicker than you could expect! I wish you the best of luck and I'll continue to tune in and watch you new videos each week!
Finally! Someone who explains why people recording demos of their own speakers may/will not translate on the other end. Love the chef reference, mmmm 😄
Kirby Meets Audio Thanks for giving away plans for free, because I am a guy that works a lot with wood and electronics, but never connected the two together, and don't know how am I going to do my first project. Getting a plan for free means I can try it out and then if I do good with my project I will buy more of them. Which is a good marketing move by you sir and I applaud it. Anyways keep up the great work!
I would love to see some cube speaker plans! I love the videos. The speakers are fantastic and actually very adorable for beautiful hand made speakers. Keep up the good shit man I love what you are doing
Super excited for your channel. To be able to see the growth is awesome. I have been contemplating the idea of posting up a channel and seeing you kind of going step by step is informative. Oh yeah, I have a thing for speakers and wood. Ha! Going to Instagram!!!
Awesome! You should for sure start your channel. I waited way too long to start mine. So many doubts, but they were all just procrastination. Thanks so much for watching!
Keep up the good work man! I'm going to download you plans and build one. I'll give my own little touch to it as well lol. I have to say very excited for you! if you keep it at this rate you might need a bigger shop haha!
Hey Kirby! New sub here (I'm Jules by there way, nice to meet you ; ) ! I'm a fellow speaker DIYer an dI fell in love with your videos, your speaker!! (dat wood!!) , and I guess... you! (no weirdness intended...) I enjoy watching you build speakers and I'm looking forward to see more! I have been wanting to do a project with the Dayton PS95 for a little while now and you are one of the few to use it. I'm curious as to how it reach up in treble town? Anyway, keep it up, you are an inspiration! Peace
Hey Jules! Thanks so much! The PS95 sound great from low mids through the highs. Being a very small driver, the lows are lacking, but they make a great addition to a 2.1 system.
Hi Kirby, Thanks so much for releasing these plans for free, I've had a similar idea for an active / driving a separate passive speaker for a while now so it's great to see how you've done yours in detail. I have one question: The plans say you use 1" x 6" timber but show the side thickness as 3/4" are you planing it down at some point?
Hey Richard! Most lumber yards and home centers will use a "nominal" system of sizing the wood. The "actual" size of the 1" x 6" board that is needed for this project is 3/4" x 5 1/2" or very close to it. I'm not totally sure why they do it this way, I think it has something to do with the size before they are finish plained to actual thickness or before the wood is dried or something. Here is a simple chart that can help: www.familyhandyman.com/carpentry/making-sense-of-lumber-dimensions/view-all Thanks for watching!
Thanks Hlias! Click on this link: salvageaudio.com/welcome/fawnbuildplans Add the plans to your cart and check out. The plans are free, so no need to enter any credit card info. After checkout you will receive an email with a link to download the plans. Thanks for watching and good luck!
Really understood the sound test part, I feel the same about that risk that people will listen thru the laptop speakers. But, the guys that understand how things work they will use at least some headphones for that... again, it is not the real thing, depends on many things (like the mike)... yet I miss the "hmm..yami" One question, how do you know what size of enclosure you need for certain speakers?
I feel ya! Thats a good point about the headphones. There really is no standard volume size for certain speakers, it fully depends on the application and enclosure type. Sometimes, whoever is selling the speaker (like Parts Express does this) will have recommendations for optimal cabinet volume for both ported and sealed. The best way though, is to use modeling software to test a range of sizes. There are also some calculators out there that can help. I'll be doing a video on this in the future. Thanks!
I don't know if anyone ask this but did you plane to do a video about how you take good photo (like the one you use in the video cover) about every speaker you make? Realy, there are so beautiful. (By the way sorry about all the grammar mistake i made but i'm a 16 years old italian)
These videos have such a genuineness and warmness to them. It feels like you have been doing this for years.

Thats crazy! I will!

Ah I see, I think maybe this is a US thing, and it's different here in the UK? Thanks for the answer anyway!
Oh! Maybe! No problem.
Awesome video Kirby, Im excited for what's next. Can you please tell me how do I get the plans, Im a little confused.

+Kirby Meets Audio Well thank youu!
omg this is so cool😱
Heck yeah Nicolas! Thanks man!
a little suggestion: binaural microphones 4 audio test and we, the listener's to use headphones! thanks for your videos
Really understood the sound test part, I feel the same about that risk that people will listen thru the laptop speakers. Kirby Meets Audio I'll be waiting for that. as far as building speakers I'm a noob :)
do you make 5.1 systems????
Question, the sizes of the boxes matter? Or I could do small and or bigger and it would work the same ??
Size of enclosure definitely matters. It matters much more in a vented enclosure compared to a sealed enclosure.
Kirby Meets Audio I just watch the video where you explain all that, haha. Thanks!
No problem!
I don't know if anyone ask this but did you plane to do a video about how you take good photo (like the one you use in the video cover) about every speaker you make?
Realy, there are so beautiful.
(By the way sorry about all the grammar mistake i made but i'm a 16 years old italian)
Thanks so much! I hadn't thought of that before, what a great idea. Thanks for watching!
what is the approximate cost for the materials?
I'm actually selling kits now! Check it here: kirbymeetsaudio.com/shop/fawn-bluetooth-speaker-build-kit-wood-kit-pre-order Thanks for watching!
I don't have a creditcard so i can't get them, is there an other possivle way i qould get those.
No need to enter a credit card! Just leave that blank.
can you make some Headphones ? with wood?
i dont see many headphones DIY in the RUclips
YES! This is a dream project of mine. I will for sure be tackling that in the future!
Maybe you could make a bluetooth speaker
Keep your eyes peeled over the next few weeks!
lmao mmmmmmm so good
just give us specs instead of sound tests
