Those people are happy in the airport because they got off a plane that actually had a comfortable seat, leg room and a meal also they didnt have to deal with TSA and pay for a checking a bag.
Great video and memories. I used to go every year, driving from Los Angeles, in the 60s through 80s, first with my parents and later with some gambling buddies. Last stayed at Aria Skysuites about 5 years ago. Amazing city.
Once in LV as we came to land the skies were very cloudy. It was disappointing to be there without the sun. Around 4pm there was a very heavy wind storm. You had to be inside because of all the sand blowing. When it was over in about 20 minutes the winds blew all the grey clouds out and for the next 5 days of our trip it was nothing but sunshine.
A similar thing happened to me. The sands blew so hard I could barely cross the street. The sand ended up in my mouth regardless how I clenched my teeth and kept my mouth shut. Those winds last for 2 or 3 days. When they ceased, it was about time to head back East. Thank you very much for your extended comet and thank you for watching! lmc

I can't say much on the BC, never having been a guest there. I have stayed at the old Frontier (gone now). I became a fan of the Palace Station because it was off the Strip and close to the local shopping areas. I would always have a car rental and that me allowed to do local shopping if need be. There are several Station hotels, at least there used to be. I don't know what is there now. I old section of the PS was only 2 stories high so you could get in and out and get to your car in a hurry. It was kind of quiet hotel, small swimming pool where you could talk with normal people from the Midwest and other Western states. Further, I was informed that the PS is the place where locals like to use the casino. The food is top shelf there, too.
Interesting that the windows howled in the wind 36 years ago too. We stayed at Horseshoe (Bally's) 2 weeks ago with 70 mph gusts and the windows were howling so loud I thought they might get sucked out of the building. Came here from MTM
