Market Cap, or market capitalization, gives investors an idea how big a company is. It is calculated by multiplying outstanding shares by the current market price.

+Jons short vims and such nope - thank YOU!
Kudos for the Video! Forgive me for the intrusion, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you heard about - Zanackson Pocket Buster (erm, check it on google should be there)? It is an awesome one of a kind product for learning how to make an extra income online without the hard work. Ive heard some super things about it and my work colleague after many years got cool results with it.
you think?
Just because a market cap is set at a certain number does not mean that is exactly what the value of the company is.
Correct. In the video he mentions that "market cap is the public's PERCEIVED value of a company".
This guy Elon is something else , I admire his smart moves when it comes to Investments
Yea, I heard he invested 1.5 billion in Bitcoin
Damn! That’s huge
I thought he owns tesla stock , and now investing in Bitcoin , wow
No pride in making money , do what you have to do to make the money , take all risk possible, in fact I am looking for a risk right now
Yes, as an entrepreneur that he is ,risking 1.5 billion is not surprising and I pity people whom can’t take risk on any account
Thank you for that simple, and easy to understand explanation.
Yea I’m going to need you to dumb it down about 40%
Same here lol. 21 seconds in and I'm lost. What does outstanding shares mean...
What does it mean in term of cash flow for the company. Does this mean the company has 5 millions in cash available to them if they wish so . I’m really a beginner in finance an explanation will really help
Quick question as I'm a totally new to this investing stuff. When you talk about outstanding shares, does this mean the entire stock? As in the market valuation of all shares ever, even if they are already owned by people? Or is it just the ones available to purchase? Sorry if this sounds dumbThanks in advance
+Jack Smith Hey Jack. Doesn't sound dumb at all. Outstanding shares is just all stock held by shareholders. If you're just starting with the stock market, you should really check out some of the free courses we have on our site! Or shoot me an email we'll hook you up with some good stuff michelle@wallstreetsurvivor.com :)
That's exactly what I was confused over.
J
Doesn't sound dumb at all. I also wanted to know that
I have a fairly important question that I can't seem to find the answer for. If a company like lucy's diner has 100,000 shares can they produce more shares when they become a larger company? Also how do they determine how many shares to make available to the public? Thank you to anyone willing to answer my quesitons.
J
This was really helpful
Great video, very well explained
Easy to understand with simply understanding language thank you for sharing information.:-)
question to everyone: if you wanted to get great at investing, what would major would you be in college? I know you don't need a degree to invest, but maybe if you wanted a job in that area? I'm a business major with a concentration in Accounting and will have a minor in Finance ( this is subject to change ) and any other young advice for a young new investor ?
Many top CEOs have degrees in psychology. Think bigger than a job. You're building your foundation. In business, and in management, psychology plays a major role. Understanding human nature, behavior, instincts, etc are extremely valuable tools.
Your videos remind me a lot of minutephysics's videos. Has the same style to it. Different subject though. lol.
You said at 0:27 " Because market price is determined by investers, market cap is really the publics perceived value of a particular company "Then contradicted yourself by saying Lucy diner is trading at $50 per share! So who determines market price?
+MrGetmoneymane investors determine the price indirectly through supply and demand laws
What's software do you use for this video?
guys what's with P/E ratio with dividends do I want undervalue low p/E and growth stocks does it matter.-.
Great video
Thanks for the video

I have a question,
when the shareholders receive his profits as form of dividends?
is the shareholders receives his or her dividends every month or he only received his dividends when he decides to sells his share the shareholders receive his share value plus profits in form of dividends?
I’m currently retired, and considering the current rollercoaster nature of the stock market, I decided to stay on the sideline for awhile, now I’m worried with the numerous bank failures as of late, am I better off reinvesting my savings in the stock market or do I wait?
True, A lot of folks downplay the role of advisors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for license advisors and came across someone of due diligence, helped a lot to grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to approx. $850k so far.
It's best you do your due diligence, I have my portfolio overseen by *ROCH DUNGCA-SCHREIBER* ‘’ and her qualifications speak for itself. Most likely, the internet is where to find basic info, she has a noticeable page for consulting.
So this shows the market cap not the true value of a company.
Awesome video man
Thank you
what is meant by- lucy's are currently tradinng at 50 dollars on the exhange?/

Repost without the toytown music please ‼️
What if its market cap is under1k
id assume it would still be a small cap company, if its publically traded.
For example Lucy has a market cap of 5 million $ i am an investor and could buy entire LUCY for 5 million dollar
Nice thanks

Well explained though I dont know much about trading forex and stock but I make passive income trading with Stephan Briggs, he trades on my behalf due to my tight schedule and he's doing a great job trading for me. His understanding of the market and its trends is unrivaled.
