But judging from this video, I think I can safely assume that the ability to connect additional headphones could be a good reason for me to one day invest in a device such as this ADAT piece of gear. This channel is indeed a University to me, many thanks for great videos as per usual.
Great, another thing you can do with either optical or coaxial digital outputs is to just expand the amount of channels so you can mix and monitor surround sound. Maybe you have a small interface with only 4 outputs you can use the digital outputs to add an extra 2 or 4 outputs and mix 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound this way.
IF the smaller interface even has a digital out. Most of them do not. For 5.1 and 7.1 surround output, the Scarlett 18i20 3rd Gen is the best budget interface.
@@andynonimuss6298 Yeah and they are actually losing the digital OUTs, most manufacturers are really not including them anymore in the smaller interfaces this makes me sad, I'm using an M-AUDIO Fast track C400 (x4 analog OUTs + x2 Digital OUTs and also INs), for ages now and I love the layout of this interface and all other tabletop M-AUDIO interfaces with the large and easy to access knob on top and level indicators and XLRs on the back as I have a permanent MIC that don't need to be ocuppying the quicker and easier to use conenctions in the front. Plus I only use front INPUTs for instruments nonetheless, I really wanted to upgrade but the only ones with the digital out or the amount of channels are either rackmounts or don't have the XLRs on the back so I'm still keeping it untill it breaks down or stop working, fortunately the ageing W10 drivers are working on W11, that was my biggest fear.
I own an RME AIO PRO computer interface with 8 channel output capabilities. But because the onboard chip can't process the surround audio I need something that can handle the Aio Pro's ADAT output. RME emailed me and suggested using their ADI-8 DS Mk III which is like $2200.00. A pretty penny and I'm sure it's absolutely freaking perfect but I'll definitely look into trying this cranborne first. So helpful man. Thank you!
@@Jonathan-ff4wo But this Cranborne is almost as much as the ADI-8 DS, and it also needs some 500 module pre-amps if you'd want to use the inputs (which would add to the cost). There are much cheaper options if you only need the outputs. The Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 used in this video for example. The MOTU 8 Pre is a slightly better one. If you want to stick to RME (which is what I prefer) the Fireface 802 should be fine, and the cheapest RME option. With any of these options you could just ditch the AIO Pro, but I would still connect them through ADAT as the clocking and converters in the AIO Pro are better than pretty much anything.
This is a wonderful endorsement for something like a MOTU 24 i/o. What could be easier? You hook up 1- 24 i/o and you instantly have 24 ins and out TRS connections. No need for setting clocks etc. I wish audio interface manufacturers would get back to something easy like that. The equipment demoed in this video is really confusing.
@@Cautionary-Tales-Band and THAT is the issue for me. I got 4-24i/o break out boxes and they needed nothing else to have 96 TRS inputs. No special cables at all...no extra ADAT i/o's etc. They work well with Cubase and theyve been problem free.
@@thisbusinessofmusic1276 Sure, but you can't use them as integrated I/O for 500-series modules, they don't have summing, etc. There's a lot of "Swiss army knife" utility in the Cranborne that a simpler setup like yours doesn't have. ADAT is slightly fiddly to set up, but it allows a very flexible unit like the Cranborne to jack into pretty much any studio config.
@@Cautionary-Tales-Band dont use nor do I plan to use 500 series modules. Again....this ADAT stuff if far too complicated and far more expensive to switch to than the 96 in/out setup I already have running. Also, it isnt gonna make me any more money in my place to switch to something like the system in the video and have to lose time setting it up and figuring it out. I have long since lost the need to chase shiny objects. Your mileage may vary. Have a good day.
Why the converters of the 500 Adat are superior to any other mid/high range interface ? I have a Antelope Orion, and I want to know if I can improve my conversion.
Thanks - this is useful. I am going to use the Scarlett OctoPre to add eight more inputs to my 18i20 3rd gen. Per Focusrite support (excellent) the OctoPre preamps match my 18i20 so no reason to spend more for the Clarett. I want all 16 preamps to match. Hopefully I will be able to configure the 18i20 control panel so that it sees the eight new inputs. I have an eight channel rig with splitter and cables - so I will have a new rack case with the Octopre and another splitter. I wonder if once I have all sixteen inputs set up for 16 track recording, that if I record a small gig where eight inputs is sufficient, can I just leave the new expansion rig at home and my DAW will ignore the unconnected eight inputs from the OctoPre or will I have to set the configuration back to it's original setting...
Thx for your extreme explanation, however I did not get the full understanding if I have have an audio interface in my case is Apollo Twin USB routed into analogue WA73 EQ how will expand my in/out in this case. Regads
Hi there! Great video and channel, congrats and thanks for all the wonderful content. I still have a doubt on this subject though, so I'd really appreciate it if you could please provide some additional guidance. I was trying to connect via ADAT an audient id44 interface with an id14 (both MKI), only to expand my analog I/O. As the id14 just have an optical input, I understand this has to be the master device and the one connected to my computer via USB. If this is the case, is there any way to monitor my DAW output through the headphone outputs of the id44 (slave) instead of the id14 (master)? The reason is pretty simple: id44 has 2 headphone outputs while id14 has only 1. On the other hand, is it possible to use the three headphone outputs from both interfaces combined for the same purpose? Thanks a lot for your help!!
Great tutorial! It would be also really good to show us how to connect monitore control, I want to connect analogue preamp Warm Audio 73 to Clarett+ OctoPre. I would use Clarett+ OctoPre just as an AD/DA converter. But none of these two equipment has monitor or headphones control. And another question, do I need world clock if I connect analogue preamp to Clarett+ Octo Pre. Thank you!
Thank you for the video, I have two focusrite saffire pro 40. One doesn't connect to the computer, I guess the FireWire ports are dead. Is it possible to use it(the one that doesn't connect to my computer just as a mic preamp and use the one that is able to connect as the primary clock? I'll appreciate your feedback Thank you!
This is possible! The challenge may be configuring the IO routing through ADAT without connection to the computer. I haven’t used the Saffire series, so I’m not sure how it is done.
Great video as always, been following since last month when I found the channel. Quick question, audient id24 only has click out. That means it can only control the other device, correct? In this case with the id24, is it a better clock than the cranborne or should I look for a better device with better clocking capabilities to either control or receive? Thanks in advance.
The Cranborne clock is extremely good. The Audient clock is also great. But in any case, you’ll find that most clocking in modern gear is very stable. So just be sure that there is one master clock that everything else follows. Which device you choose matters less than you might think.
What do I need if I want to send the sound to multiple power amplifiers using balanced xlr outlet if I only have two outlet for left & right at the source?
Hi would like to know about the old vintage grundig bakelite condenser microphone what is the difference between modern (dynamic or condenser) microphone and this old one
What role is the audio interface playing in this setup given that it is the Cranborne device doing the analogue-digital conversion? Ignoring the inputs on the interface itself, is it just acting as a middleman for the digital signal just because it has the usb ports for the computer? If the Cranborne device was built with those ports, could it act as the interface, or does the actual interface do something more with the digital signal before passing it to the computer?
Great info!!! Do you know how to connect Burl B2 Bomber ADC to Apollo 6x for tracking? I'm using using a Neumann 103 into bae 1073 preamp MacBook pro m1 Cubase 12 Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Forgive me if this is a dummy question and just works off of the same principal. Say if i want to route several bits of outboard effects like mic pre's, a bus compressor, a culture vulture and several synthesizers all into an audio interface without having to plug anything in or out every time I wanted to use something optionally, would I be able to just daisy/signal chain everything how I want it to permanently be and then route it into the interface directly and it would all work cohesively ? OR, Would i need a patch bay with enough inputs and outputs routed into an audio interface ?
Nice video. How do you think the A/D converters on the new Focusrite Clarett 8 pre+ compare to the Cranbourne converters? Do you think it’s worth it to do this same set up, but instead use the new Clarett?
I haven't tried the Focusrite Clarett series yet. If you'll get more use out of the Clarett than using it as an A-to-D converter, then I think it will be worth it. That's what I like about the 500ADAT (and the Clarett 8 pre+, in your case) - they're so versatile. I don't think it is worth it just for the A/D conversion upgrade, alone. But you'll certainly get more out of the Clarett than just the upgraded converters! Good luck, Rob. Let me know if you end up trying it out! Thanks for watching.
Would it be possible to run long distance optical cable runs? For example 70 or 100 feet? I have a Clarett 2pre with optical in. I would like to extend the number of preamps with Focusrite Scarlett OctoPre to additional 8 inputs(preamps) but I would like for the OctoPre to be in the attic about 70 or 100 feet away from my Clarett 2pre...
Hi. thank you. I have an issue where I connected 2 focusrite mkII octos to my M-Audio profire via ADAT. The M-Audio records well 0n 8 tracks, so does the first focusrite. But the second focusrite's recordings have a crackling sound. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the information. If I remember correctly, those fiberoptic cables are a pretty penny. They are also easy to break. Be sure the rack the equipment together to avoid movement and stressing the fiberoptic cables. Coaxial cables for digital audio are generally less expensive and more robust, but take up more space on the device.
Only if your device has separate ADAT connections. Be careful when shopping though, because some interfaces (like the Scarlett 18i20) will have dual ADAT for higher sample rates between 2 devices. Other devices will have multiple ADAT connections for use with multiple devices.
I have both of these interfaces and I’m having trouble getting the Scarlett to accept the audio from the cranborne. I want the Scarlett to be the main interface. I have the output Adat running into the Scarlett. I have it at 4400 sample rate but the Scarlett interface isn’t catching the audio coming out of the r8 can you please help I thought I solved this issue before but I’m having issues again
I'm using a scarlett octopre into a scarlett 18i20, recording into reaper. Adat out of octopre is into adat in on 18i20, I have focusrite control set to adat clock source, sample rate 48khz (same as octopre), the octopre sync is set to internal, digital I/O is set to dual adat, but I cannot get anything to record. I noticed that when I switched the focusrite control clock source to adat, the sync light at the top of the window turned red, which I'm guessing means it's no long synced. What am I missing?
Does anybody here know where I can get a copy of the Focusrite Control Center software? It is not listed on the Focusrite website anymore. Thanks for your help. 🙂
Can any body help me on this ? I am Investing on Good Interface so I am Currently User Of focusrite 18i20 2nd gen and I am upgrading to the " prime sound Lyra 2 " which has Brilliant AD/DAs But lyra 2 is not cheap and is really expensive , but It has only Two IN and Outs , So It is something i really worried about because , I am also Going to Outboard Gears with Interface upgrade , Before it i have Done every mix ITB . So this year I am Also will invest on Mastering Grade Gears such as SSL Fusion or Thinking to Get Summing mixer. i know Lyra 2 isn't good choice for outboard gears But what about Using ADAT expansion because my Focusrite has one too Also both has worldclock . so if i EXpand my Lyra 2 ( master ) with focusrite ( Slave ) & connectiong outboard gears with my focusrite ? & keep my monitor speakers connected with the Lyra 2 to hear from Great DAs of Lyra . is it good choice ? i hope it will Bypass The CHeap AD/DA of focusrite and i only utilize the quality AD/DAs of Prism Lyra , Or i am going to hurt the quality of Lyra with such setup , sorry if this setup sounds stupid , actually just stepping in Analogue . i don't want to spend more on titan , becuase i want to buy outboard gear as well with it. ( also please don't suggest me get room treatment and great Pair Of Monitors first before going analogue , i have good room and good monitors , if i want to use analogue i just want to,thats how i will learn. lol )
This setup is similar to what I currently have in my studio. I have my RME UCX II as my interface, with monitors connected to its outputs for best DA conversion. I’ve got access to 8 ins and 8 outs on the 18i20 through ADAT. When I use the IO on the 18i20, the Focusrite converters are used. I don’t see this as a huge problem though, especially because they are following the clock in the RME. Works well for me.
@@AudioUniversity thankyou for clarifying , If you have Experience on The Prism Audio as well , would share your thoughts on it ? like how much difference You feel in the converters ? because in Similar price of Lyra 2 i am getting UFX II As well which has Good number of IN and OUTs , because i can use outboard gears easily with UFX II but again , Prism Audio Has SO far Better AD/DA than RME , unluckily , i do not have any chance to test the demo of both brands and i can only buy online , so internet is only my guide here.
I don’t have experience with Prism Audio stuff, personally. I’ve heard great things, but that goes without saying. The difference in converters seems to get more and more subtle as things get more and more expensive. I’d say this: going with the RME UFX II will give you excellent converters on more channels, even if the Prism gives you even better conversion on fewer channels.
Hi I'm having a bit of a problem. I running Clarett 8pre with a FR Octopre Mk II not the Dynamic version. So my connection is correct which there's only one way of connecting. Clarett only has one in one out, the October has two outs no in. When set to ADAT I get no sound, when I switch to internal I get static. I'm so confused about this whole thing that seems so simple.
wait, what? adat only supports 8 channels? I've been looking at the Evo 16 from audient and they state that the interface features 24 i/o. so 8 i/o channels on the interface and 16 i/o expandable channels via adat?
It looks like the 2 ADAT input ports on the EVO 16 can operate independently, allowing for 16 channels. Pretty cool! Thanks for pointing that out, Fredrik!
Hey hey, I added an octopre to my focusrite 18i20 (18i20 is my main interface). finally got focusrite controls to see an adat signal. However, i'm not seeing any adat track/input whilst in garage band. all I see is inputs 9-20. nothing resembles adat. Any clues? Thanks!
Inputs 9-20 are the ADAT, SPDIF, and Talkback inputs, I believe. If you’re not seeing signal, try connecting to the secondary 18i20 via USB to ensure the inputs are correctly routed in Focusrite Control. I had to open up the manual to get it working, as it is sort of complicated.
@@AudioUniversity thanks man. I don't have an second 18i20. I have the main interface which is an 18i20 and my adat is my octopre. I can see adat signal via the channel within focusrite control, but either inputs 9 or 10 in garage band recognize any adat/ have no mic signal.
@@AudioUniversity I’ll try that. Thanks for the response man. I even tried to see adat in audacity and nothing. It has to be a software issue if not adat starts at 11/12.
I'm a little confused. I know the adat500 you can also bypass the 500 slot and still use it but you've also said now that you have to have a preamp for it.
@@AudioUniversity so if I was just using the scarlet like you are there and the adat500 I could still utilize the adats 8 mic inputs and record them without preamps in the 500 or the optico?
You can use the 8 channels however you’d like, either with analog or ADAT. The analog ins and outs of the Scarlett can be used at the same time (if the Scarlett is your interface).
Hello, How would I daisy chain 3 interfaces?? Im using a focusrite 1st gen and its a slave to the UMC1820. Connected via ADAT. Now, my question is, I bought a ADA8200 because I want to leave my drums and synths ready to record all the time so I need more than 16 channels. Can I link the ADA to the UMC1820, that is linked to the FR 18i20???? do I need both ADAT cables connected from the UMC to the FR? if I leave as it is, I have no free ADAT in and out! How can I work around this!? I see no one asking this on other forums or comments. Im at a loss. It seems people are not connecting more than 2 interfaces or not needing more than 16 inputs or they spend 3k on an interface, which I cant do. How do I get what I have to get me to 24 inputs!? I was looking at some RME products and came across the RME Digiface USB which seems to be what would work for me? but its 400$......f**** that.............
Question -Dolby atmos ; I want to turn my room into a 7.1.4 setup .. I am leaning towards the Avid Mbox studio and using an adat connection to pair it with to handle that load (which additional equipment or focusrite piece would you recommend ? ( the faderport 8 is a mixer that would accompany it in my head as well all thoughts are welcomed please help
Would sending information from the ADAT output on an interface to the ADAT input on the preamp allow you to choose what channel inputs on the PREAMP you want to send audio to from the interface? I'm thinking I want to try sending individual channels inside my DAW to individual channels on my Tube Opto-8 Preamp so I can use the Preamp as a mixer/ distortion unit and then send the audio back out the ADAT out of the preamp into the ADAT input of the interface and into my DAW, essential doing a loop. Would this be possible?
I feel like I’m the only one that’s having a difficult time sending adat from my 500r8 to another interface. I have the sample rate the same in the interface, pro tools, and 500r8 and I have the clock set to internal on the 500r8 and set to optical 1 on the interface. No matter what I do it will not pass signal through adat.
Some devices have ADAT inputs (like the Focusrite Scarlett 18i20. That allows you to convert the digital signal to analog outputs that could feed your mixer.
@@AudioUniversity great thanks.. tell me how do I set that up because I have the apogee symphony .. I go out to from the from my symphony to 18i20 then into my Mackie mixer then back into my symphony?????
Does anyone know of any devices out there that process 8 channel ADAT and then OUTPUT 8 channels of digital optical audio? It would simplify things cuz many active monitors process optical signal. Im a noob and haven't found anything on the internet describing this sort of thing. Everything usually relies on ADDA conversion or analog breakout cables.
The reason you cannot do 16 channels of ADAT input and output here is because the Focusrite 18i20 has 10 of it's 20 total outputs on Line outs, and ONLY 8 of them on ADAT (4 instead @ 88.1 or 96 KHz), not due to ADAT being limited to 8 channels like you stated in this video.
AmazIng how the ADAT protocol has become synonymous phraseology to a fiber optic light-pipe long after it’s initial relevance. Kinda like the Kleenex brand has become the generic meaning for tissue paper
Ethernet is the new ADAT.. Yamaha Tried, But was dismissed.,..just to early for the tech time. (Yamaha's Protocol, Literally a networked system using Firewire Called mLan.....) Its simple... Ethernet (RSJ45) It needs to be on all interfaces, from now. A Standard, like Midi... a Consortium. (Dante, AVB ect.......) Then we will have "cheaper" ADAT to Ethernet (vice versa) boxes for Backwards compatibility... Not that hard really. The ADAT optical protocol needs to hang up its gloves... Otherwise the future is just held back. Let me reiterate...As a analogy. Time to remove the SCART and move on to a HDMI standard.

Fantastic video. That Cranborne Audio 500ADAT looks incredible, but it's way out of my price range.
It’s pretty awesome and powerful! Hopefully the principles in this video will still be helpful to you!
great video, thank you! super clear and informative. great work!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!

amazing video perfectly explained
Glad you liked it! Thanks, James!
Great explanation! Love your content.
Very perfect information 👌 👏 👍
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
This equipment does a lot more than the MOTU 24. It's fiddlier to set up - but in practice once configured it's a much more streamlined workflow.
I’m using two ADATs, an Alesis XT20 and an Alesis Blackface, connected to a Profire Lightbridge.
Thanks. Could you please do a video on the analog summing feature of the Cranborne. No one seems to discuss that feature here on RUclips.

Informative!
Why the converters of the 500 Adat are superior to any other mid/high range interface ? I have a Antelope Orion, and I want to know if I can improve my conversion.
I use an Ashley 32 channel mixer that plugs directly into the computer via usb. One usb cable carries all 32 channels in/out.
Hi Kyle . Very informative channel🫡. What make of light pipe are you using? Cheers
I wonder if once I have all sixteen inputs set up for 16 track recording, that if I record a small gig where eight inputs is sufficient, can I just leave the new expansion rig at home and my DAW will ignore the unconnected eight inputs from the OctoPre or will I have to set the configuration back to it's original setting...
thank you
wish you could do a video on how to connect and eq to an integrated amp
It depends on what you'd like to EQ. EQs will commonly be used on channel inserts or on the master outputs.
@@AudioUniversity understood and noted thank you👍

Great video, unfortunately the 18i20 doesn't have a World Clock in so I have to use ADAT as the clocking connection to my AD/DA
I have an 4 interfaces is it possible to link all 4 together ?
i did not know that the scarlets can clock. ive been eyeing them up for some time too. maybe this will be the solution to my set up.
Hi,. How about SPDIF? This is what encourage me to buy Scarlet 2i4 than 2i2, just in any case, I would need SPDIF.
Thx for your extreme explanation, however I did not get the full understanding if I have have an audio interface in my case is Apollo Twin USB routed into analogue WA73 EQ how will expand my in/out in this case.

Is it possible to connect a solid state preamp to a mixer and then to a audio interface for a condensor microphone and acoustic guitar

I'll appreciate your feedback
Thank you!
Great! Always good to know in advance how to set up some equipment that I might want to buy somewhere down the line.
What do I need if I want to send the sound to multiple power amplifiers using balanced xlr outlet if I only have two outlet for left & right at the source?
You could use a mixer, a monitor mixer, or a distribution amplifier. For easy switching between monitors, I’d recommend a monitor mixer.
Can you do a video on the raydat pcie interfaces?
Can I do this with a 3rd gen Scarlett 18i20 to a UAD Twin Quad? Can the 3rd gen Scarlett 18i20 act as an expander for I/Os since it has ADAT
Yes! But I believe the Apollo Twin only has ADAT In.
can i use this with a optical cord for my tv
Can you please do a ADAT vs SPDIF cable and how to use the SPDIF? This is highly confusing
Nice,
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Thanks
Si me ayudaras personalmente seria buena idea

Forgive me if this is a dummy question and just works off of the same principal.
Say if i want to route several bits of outboard effects like mic pre's, a bus compressor, a culture vulture and several synthesizers all into an audio interface without having to plug anything in or out every time I wanted to use something optionally, would I be able to just daisy/signal chain everything how I want it to permanently be and then route it into the interface directly and it would all work cohesively ?
OR, Would i need a patch bay with enough inputs and outputs routed into an audio interface ?
You can daisy chain or use a patch bay. Good question.
@@AudioUniversity Thank you for the response, I appreciate you!

Can you connect more than 2 devices together?
Only if your device has separate ADAT connections. Be careful when shopping though, because some interfaces (like the Scarlett 18i20) will have dual ADAT for higher sample rates between 2 devices. Other devices will have multiple ADAT connections for use with multiple devices.
1:31 just a reminder to anyone *DO NOT* look directly at this light.
Excellent point! Thanks for saying that!
✌“la-zer”✌
I don't see a USB-C cable in your setup. How are you communicating with the computer?
Only the interface needs to be connected to the computer. (If it’s not shown, it was just an error while recording the footage).
@@AudioUniversity thanx :) for your time
Hi I'm having a bit of a problem.
Oops… Did you try channels 11 and 12? Perhaps 9 and 10 are SPDIF 1 and 2…
@@AudioUniversity I’ll try that. Thanks for the response man. I even tried to see adat in audacity and nothing. It has to be a software issue if not adat starts at 11/12.
@@AudioUniversity didn’t work thus far. I either got a “no input detected” and or no signal.

I need a brand new notebook and the chair with the desk attached..school is in session.
I'm a little confused. I know the adat500 you can also bypass the 500 slot and still use it but you've also said now that you have to have a preamp for it.
These are different examples. The bypass examples do not utilize the preamp/effect. Good catch - I should have used a different graphic!
@@AudioUniversity so I would be able to record all 16 tracks at the same time even if I didn't have any preamps in the 500?
Only if the inputs to the 500ADAT are line level. You’ll need preamps for mics.
Ps: I obviously want to save on cost mtrx studio apogee symphony … is expensive
Would sending information from the ADAT output on an interface to the ADAT input on the preamp allow you to choose what channel inputs on the PREAMP you want to send audio to from the interface? I'm thinking I want to try sending individual channels inside my DAW to individual channels on my Tube Opto-8 Preamp so I can use the Preamp as a mixer/ distortion unit and then send the audio back out the ADAT out of the preamp into the ADAT input of the interface and into my DAW, essential doing a loop. Would this be possible?
Yes
I feel like I’m the only one that’s having a difficult time sending adat from my 500r8 to another interface. I have the sample rate the same in the interface, pro tools, and 500r8 and I have the clock set to internal on the 500r8 and set to optical 1 on the interface. No matter what I do it will not pass signal through adat.
how can I get it to my analog mixer?????
Some devices have ADAT inputs (like the Focusrite Scarlett 18i20. That allows you to convert the digital signal to analog outputs that could feed your mixer.
@@AudioUniversity great thanks.. tell me how do I set that up because I have the apogee symphony .. I go out to from the from my symphony to 18i20 then into my Mackie mixer then back into my symphony?????
I don't know why I'm watching this. I don't make music, I bake pizza.
This stuff has a long long long way to go.
Thanks for watching, Steve!
Ethernet is the new ADAT.. Yamaha Tried, But was dismissed.,..just to early for the tech time.
(Yamaha's Protocol, Literally a networked system using Firewire Called mLan.....)
Its simple... Ethernet (RSJ45) It needs to be on all interfaces, from now. A Standard, like Midi... a Consortium. (Dante, AVB ect.......)
Then we will have "cheaper" ADAT to Ethernet (vice versa) boxes for Backwards compatibility... Not that hard really.
The ADAT optical protocol needs to hang up its gloves... Otherwise the future is just held back.
Let me reiterate...As a analogy.
Time to remove the SCART and move on to a HDMI standard.
