It's all the same one, the game just doesn't physically turn like the HD version does. Okay, so that was a shitty joke, but... actually that would be a great way to anchor down where to rotate a stage
Am I the only one that thinks the 3DS version was fantastic, and that Radical Highway was one of the best levels in the game as not only did it have throwbacks to Radical Highway but also Mission Street?
MistralGale Gaming yeah, but classic sonic's stage is terrible and not fun to play (Terrible enemy placement, either they land on your face, or spawn in the middle of you rolling around at the speed of sound, and the uneccessary long lengths of nothing that stretches to what seems like forever), and Modern Sonic's music, in my opinion, is the worst in the entire game. If it was combined, where they used modern Sonic's stage with classic Sonic's music, then I would agree with you.
Actually If you look at both the concept art and beta footage from SA2, Sonic was supposed to be in all of the sonic/shadow levels. Only sonic, knuxs and eggman were supposed to be playable, but due to fan outcry, Sega made Tails, Rouge, and Shadow playable. (They were all supposed to be just NPCs that were present in the story and as boss fights.) That's why I have no problem with Sonic in shadows levels. =P
Well, Sonic already DID have his first SA2 stage in the console Generations. Plus, I kinda always wanted to play as either Sonic or Shadow in their opposite stages.
My main gripe with it was that the classic levels were just cut and paste from the originals. Otherwise, it was pretty great. And no, it doesn't have the perfect bonus - getting an S rank is just as hard as it was in Rush and Unleashed, fortunately - another thing I liked about this version.
So who’s here from the Sonic X Shadow Generations trailers, and who’s excited for the new rendition of the Radical Highway level that’s appearing in Shadow’s story?!😄🤩😎👌
At least classic Sonic’s level design and physics aren’t as janked and crappy as the one in forces. And all of modern Sonic’s levels are decently lengthened, has branching paths, and has more gimmicks and obstacles than he has in forces. But radical highway isn’t the best example of this.
0:12 wait a minute.... CLASSIC SONIC CAN’T HOME ATTACK!! ONLY MODERN SONIC CAN! SEE..... This is EXACTLY WHY I like the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version. Sorry I just had a mental breakdown about Classic Sonic homing attack. 😕
There's also the fact it wasn't a Sonic level. They made the same mistake with the Dreamcast-era boss, Biolizard. You'd think they would've checked these things.
The point of sonic generations is travelling into THE past, not necessarily SONIC'S past Although most of these are levels where Sonic has been, I don't see why Sonic would be unable to go to radical highway JUST because that was a Shadow level.
What's a shame is that there are in fact little dabs of creativity from Dimps now and then, such as using the blimp in this level as a wall kick, or the falling totem pole in Green Hill. Otherwise, for the most part, the levels can be so flat and uninspired. I'd be interested to see what they'd be capable of if they tried harder/were allowed to try harder.
Personally, in my opinion this zone is a mess if you want a stage that dimps made that executes the inclusion of G.U.N. Bots including the bots randomly falling down out of nowhere I recommend huge crisis.
They've definately had much better games in the past, Sonic Rush Adventure was very polished and had a lot of really creative levels and bosses! They probably made this game in less than a year, but even then they still could've put a bit more effort into the level design.
Well yeah. It's looks nice, but the level design is mostly just running forward, with an occasional spring or loop. There isn't any substance, you never do anything.
Modern Sonic does get an invincibility powerup in Water Palace, but the music doesn't change for him. Look up the Modern Water Palace level on RUclips and you'll see this very same uploader acquire it.
I never played the games from dreamcast era(since i never had a dreamcast) but this version nice except for some fails. And anyone wanna explain me if the 3DS version have perfect bonus like PC or not?
While I did enjoy this game, this is easily the WORST zone of them all. Death pits all below, the high routes are a bitch to get to, the scenery rarely ever deviates, and if you don't hit the Gold Beetle (or exploit a spot in the first act), you're in for a rough time. It's definitely the lowest point in the game. Thankfully, it gets MUCH better from here.
Wrong choice of level here. There's a reason Speed Highway has so many inside sections in the console version, the road in the middle of space worked well for dreamcast but is horrid in 2D. For me, if your picking for SA2 for this game, it had to be either Pyramid Cave or Crazy gadget, the only 2 with the elements which would be interesting in 2D.
It just seems so... uninspired, like you could copy and paste the level, change the theme of the tiles, and have another level. It sucks because the actual stages chosen for Generations 3DS are good, but none of them really had any effort put into them to make them their own stage. DX

This, my friends, is how to NOT make a Sonic level.
On the other hand... The music remix is awesome.

Classic Sonic's Remix is amazing! Modern's stage looks really fun! Love this stage!

I guess thats true, but I don't really see the problems myself. Except those Golden Beetles.

@@mistralgalegaming2632 the classic stage is painful and terrible. The modern is decent. But the console version classic and modern top tier

better than modern remix
The Classic Radical Highway looked like a stage from Sonic 3 or something.
This was the hardest stage for me to get an S Rank on.
I bet many would love to see Metal Harbor with an awesome remix.
And look how you're playing with Sonic on Shadow Stages - on 2D!
Well, Sonic already DID have his first SA2 stage in the console Generations. Plus, I kinda always wanted to play as either Sonic or Shadow in their opposite stages.

1:11 nice enemy placement
I was wondering how you were able to do it so fast... Then I realized I was playing the video on 2X speed.
This is...uh...certainly level design alright
Technically speaking, if multiplayer counts, Sonic has been in Radical Highway before.
I just got a new score for this today. 1 minute, 48.91 seconds.
Would've been even better if you could play as Shadow for just this one level.
So who’s here from the Sonic X Shadow Generations trailers, and who’s excited for the new rendition of the Radical Highway level that’s appearing in Shadow’s story?!😄🤩😎👌
Correction: Hire Dimps to make final bosses.
Hah watching to figure out how to hit that gold beetle. Thanks friend.
1:10 how to be sure to hit the Golden Beetle?
Sonic forces has nothing on this game's linearity
At least the levels are a decent length.
@@MS46532 they mean that this game is worse than Forces in that regard not the other way around

shut up
I think it's funny that Classic has better stages in this version.
I don't see why this couldn't have been Route 99 from Advance 3.
The game needed more portable representation
The game didn't have a large budget. It was made in 1 year.
There's also the fact it wasn't a Sonic level.
They made the same mistake with the Dreamcast-era boss, Biolizard. You'd think they would've checked these things.
Sega prolly didnt care
1:34 invincibility!
I literally beat this level about 40 seconds after you did, and got a D. How strict is this?
Nope. I also loved the 3DS version too.
Oh god, Metal Harbor in Generations would've been fantastic. Hell, the song is usable in the console Generations!
What confuses me, is the fact Classic Sonic can homing attack.
Wasn't he kidnapped by the Time Eater during Sonic 1?
yes but this is the 2nd most remembered level from that game
Why classic sonic has homing attack ????
Hope you figured that out
Modern Sonic teaches it to him after the Classic Era, and I personally like it’s inclusion.
Sonic! Get out of Shadow's levels!
Modern Emerald Coast and the two Modern Era levels are amazing, though.
Well in this video.. modern's invincibility song was playing
Well, i did find the sections with the loops and the Lens Flare beautiful with Windy & Ripply playing.
wait how does sonic remember this level if shadow was the only one to play on it?

This one is better, the modern one looks like Sky Rail theme
That's just the invincibility music the whole game uses...
1:14 woahhhhhhhhhhhhhh is this really classic sonic?
To this day, I can't really tell if Radical Highway (as a whole on 3DS) is a mess or brilliant design. It's so wack.
Personally, in my opinion this zone is a mess if you want a stage that dimps made that executes the inclusion of G.U.N. Bots including the bots randomly falling down out of nowhere I recommend huge crisis.
Besides the wall running bit I don't see any possible influence from Speed Highway.
why does classic sonic have a homing attack in the 3Ds version?
Some shit in the story
Because its unlockeable, just like the console versions

Funny how classic sonic on 3ds can do homing attacks unlike on consoles
He can do in the console version its just a skill that you need to equip affter getting all of the red rings in act 1 of planet wisp

The 3DS of Sonic Generations is okay.
Modern doesn't HAVE an invincibility song because there's no invincibility powerup for Modern Sonic. This is the only invincibility music in the game.
Modern Sonic does get an invincibility powerup in Water Palace, but the music doesn't change for him. Look up the Modern Water Palace level on RUclips and you'll see this very same uploader acquire it.
