I bought the 65 inches right at the product launch, in april... so I could get a pretty neat sound bar for free... it is a great TV and most of all, a piece of art: mounted on the wall is amazing, worth every penny IMHO
I thought you were too quick to mention that they want to show ads. I hate commercials and probably for some streaming services I can't avoid it, but if my TV also starts showing random commercials no matter where you are in TV. Are advertisements displayed on the offline screen? Do they interrupt a broadcast and show commercials. Do they, for example, interrupt netflix and show advertisements? These questions are important to me because if it is advertising at this level then this TV is not something I would buy.
I have this tv with art subscription and on the wall in my house it’s epic. Security motion cameras switch from art to live monitoring actively. It’s not the qn90b which I have but it has its role
We picked the 55" version up earlier this year, we wanted a TV for our sitting room that could display images throughout the day as it's in a main part of the house. For this purpose it is pretty good, but we wanted to display our own images and the method to do this is a bit of a pain as you need to install the app on your mobile device and have the images on the device. So if you have old digital images you want to display you have to get them to your phone somehow then transfer them to the TV. It would be much nicer if the TV had a web interface you could access through your home network. The remote seems as flaky as all get out, not wanting to work at times and also has the uncanny quirk of seeming to avoid the tile you want when picking shows from a streaming service, skipping over it and going to the next one, this is obviously due to the intermittent lag, which is frustrating. I have also had content just stop & get a spinning wheel, then eventually a notice saying no network connection, when I check wifi from my phone in same room I am getting 200Mbps up and down and when I switch to my Nvidia Shield TV I just connected it works fine. I have run into the network not connected several times now, so the wifi interface on this TV seems lacking. My Apple airplay also just stopped working out of the blue, despite going through all the settings & resetting everything, I can no longer cast content from my phone or mirror the screen, which was working with no issues until recently. I will probably connect my Apple TV unit to one of the HDMI ports and see if it works through that. (it should)
Can you do a Dolby vision vs hdr10 comparison for us Samsung owners. Are we missing out by not having Dolby vision? Be nice to see a 2 tv direct comparison plz.
Can u not simply connect an adriod box to hdmi or there something special it does to put in picture mode I was going use this as a movie poster can u put it vertical if not this what tv would u recomend for movie posters

The frame was definitely not on my radar. I didn't have enough information about it but Samsung was made an offer for the 2024 model I couldnt refuse - $638 for the 55'inch. So I bought it after a very quick search - at this price you can not go wrong. 2 weeks now and it's better than I expected. The image quality, style and 40w sound with DA is very good, the matte display is great and the system works very well (not super smooth but very fast). I'm using Art Frames more than I thought I would and that's because (at least for now) we're free to upload any image - so you don't really need to buy anything. I put the TV on the wall and hide the cable and its very pretty. It would be better with a bezel but that thing is ridiculously expensive so i'm gonna stuck with the base design for a while. The low point is definitely the contrast, sometimes the black level is above average, sometimes a little cloudy - But good overall. I think for the price I've paid I have nothing to complain about. I also dislike the game mode, its too bright and have a bad contrast.. But I didn't dedicate time enough to adjust. Overall, a solid 8/10.
Just buy the bezel frame. Yes it´s expensive for what it is, but it definitely worth it regardless as it is the very reason to get this TV. It makes a real impact putting a frame on it.
Ads and a subscription for wallpapers on a TV this expensive? You're better off getting a TV that respects your privacy and paying a wood worker for a much nicer frame.
Directionally I agree with you, but I don’t think there are any brands that respect your privacy. They are all trying to collect data to sell to advertisers.
@@jolness1some brand do let you largely disable most of that. And many - myself included - abandon the smart tv altogether and go with an external streaming device.
At least in regards to the wallpaper there are sources I've seen that make their own and let you upload them to your tv. Always the route is go if I got this tv.
@@11202 I would be interested in good sources for stock art photos. I downloaded quite few from Garner's Art History companion site, but that would be a great photo library to have it open source / royalty free. Then one could use that folder with AppleTV etc. Love that idea.
so the e-arc port isn't suitable for 4k ? so if I am gaming with a sound bar, do i patch directly to the tv and hte soundbar via e-arc and still get atmos via the console?
well I have uploaded 30 hi res paintings and set them in rotation... uploading files is not that fast, you have to do it via your mobile with Samsung app and it takes some time... for family portrait rotation I suggest using Amazon Photos as an app on tv, so you can upload pictures easily via amazon on a desktop

This is one of the coolest TVs out there. I'm sure picture quality is good enough for 95% of people out there. Trying to buy this in our living room and looking to hide the cables behind the wall..
Why no local dimming? 🤔 I've always wanted one of these, but I cannot fathom why Samsung would come all this way in terms of feature set and not include local dimming zones. If I assume it has something to do with the art display, surely the zones could be shut off when placed into art mode. Bizarre.
Local dimming TVs are thick, or at least thicker than these. The best shot one of these has is if they use some oled panels but then it would go from a great glare tv to one of the worst.
@@flim-flammington Roger that and thanks for responding. I personally would take the trade off of a thicker TV and exchange for Hisense level of local dimming zones. I would also think that an IPS panel would better suit this application so there isn’t such a dramatic drop off when viewed at an angle.
I agree they need a mini-LED / FALD model. But the market for The Frame is for people who want their TV to act as decor, mostly people who don’t know or care what local dimming means. Samsung’s audience for their Frame is a completely different audience than QD-OLED and Neo-QLED buyers.

I own a Samsung the frame TV (2022 version). After searching and analyze with my own, The frame seat between Q70 and Q80 in Samsung QLED line up. I could assumed The Frame specs are quite similar to Q70, but with some different and advantages, such as : customizable tv frame, one connect box, matte display panel, dolby atmos audio, built in motion and light sensor (may vary by region/country, in some region motion sensor not available) and free slim / no gap wall mount. My advice, if you are looking for beautiful, slim and art looking TV, the frame will suit you. But, If you're looking for real QLED TV with more advance specs and quite similar price go for Q80 instead.
@@BhavinnTrivedi Basically both The frame and Q70 equal in term of picture quality, I think Q70 is also good one, since from my experience for owning Q60 and The frame, their picture quality not different so much. I suppose Q70 is a good choice with less expensive and save your penny.
On Android/Google TV I can display my own (free) art over LAN. With Samsung there's no way to simply drop hundreds of your photos into a foder and cycle through those. I hope the Hisense competition helps.
I don't like the portraits because the back lighting just looks like a screensaver and not s portrait. I have made a flash drive for Christmas with all my children over the years during Christmas and will have a display going when everyone is here. Great for m small log cabin!

@@eyescreamsandwitch52 true but if you change the background frequently it shouldn't be much of a issue. Also it dimms down the brightness massively in art mode, that also helps.
You cannot play Spotify etc in background while art mode is enabled….. absolutely unacceptable and poor service from Samsung blaming processor for it 😆😆
In My country The Last Year Model, 55 inch Cost Same As S90C and 65inch Same As QN85C. I didn't know why Samsung still selling this garbage, at least upgrade to ips (for viewangle) and fald for the better contrast.
"Mediocre contrast when viewed from angle." Just this statement is a no go for me. When did samsung really make a good product that is not just to make money.
Does that weakness also apply to the viewing angle when in tv mode? It was a bit confusing as the reviewer referred to art when he spoke about that problem.

Really not super expensive for something that you can tailor to the design of your living space. Most pieces of art it's same size (if you replaced the TV with an actual one) cost as much or well in excess of what the TV does. Even from relatively no-name artists. I think you underestimate how much effort goes into some interior design, and how much art costs in general.

Yes you can use your personal images as wallpaper in art mode. Pen drive will work fine.
You can not use Video.

You can simply get your artwork for free on the internet. I got about 50 artworks in 4k. The result is the same.

I thought all full array tvs used local dimming. Then what is the difference between direct lit and full array? Just more LEDs?

Pretty much, Full Array has more LEDs, but usually it is done to allow local dimming.
