Well, first, find a weapon that works for you. Practice enough with it, and you'll get the hang of it. As for the battles, you just need to know the maps well enough to use it as a vantage point to turn the battles around. Say like you want to splat all opponents to push forward to turf. Or use stealth to either turf the enemy's side or even splat them by surprise. For me to win so many battles, you have to know what strengths and weaknesses you'll have based on the weapon you'll use, your teammates' prowess, or even the enemy's choice of weapons. With enough practice and careful observation, you can win a few more battles.
