It is still summer here. It's 86F here and it's 11 AM. Those sweet corn flowers are called tassles. Your tomatoes look like they could use a good feeding of fertilizer. I feed mine every 2 weeks once they fruit. Once a month before that.

Put some Epsom salts on your plants with some fertiliser pallets or grow more, the trouble this year is all the rain has washed away all the nutrients from the soil, Epsom salts is basically magnesium and plants need magnesium so the can take up other nutrients from the soil you will see a difference very fast once you put Epsom salts on the plants, I put about 3-4 tea spoons in 5 litres of water

I was born in July and have always rather liked the cool, damp mornings and hot afternoons. Very peculiar to July where I’m at here in Wisconsin, USA. Maybe the Dew Point? idk. If your windows are open, you often wake up at the crack of dawn to put a blanket over yourself. Later that same day, it’s sweltering!

Good day Emma, for carrot seeds we sow them very shallow and cover them with hessian/cardbord until they germinate. The hessian/cardbord creates a micro climate, keeping the seeds moist.
    Have a Beautiful day.🌻☮️

Use some string tied to your pea canes and peg two or three strings from each one, into the ground ( like you would a tent) to keep it upright.

Heya Emma, just wondering if you topped up the bed with the tomatoes in with peat free compost? Just thinking that maybe they aren't liking that or lacking some nutrients? I added some loamy soil from our garden into my bought compost, with some perlite and a bit of blood, fish and bone and my toms seem happy enough (They are in pots).
They weather certainly hasn't been great for them so far.

I’d make a triangle against it either side with canes or branches to support your pea frame from both sides. That should keep it braced and fairly stable. Your plots are doing so well. So far I’ve managed to plant potatoes, various brassicas (purple sprouting broccoli, calabrese, red and green cabbages on my new plot. I still have a whole side of my plot to deweed but looking at an op next Tuesday so might have to just cover that half with heavy plastic u til I can get back down there.

I think I remember you said you had bad drainage in the area of that arch. From what I recall it looked very wet and boggy although you did a good job of covering it with compost and with extra woodchips. Have a look in the autumn, remove the top dressing and see if the soil is saturated at about 1 foot depth. If it is you probably have an area that holds water periodically (Cleave) which can benefit some plants however most will show poor growth.

Really keen to see how the new slug control works for your allotment. I feel that would work. We use a similar product available to us in New Zealand (Slug No More from Biogrow). They have worked for us. A bit pricey though. All the best. Love your channel.

8:25 That's brave eating the peas without looking at them. Often I find maggots inside eating one of the peas. Think they are pea weevil larvae.

You REALLY REALLY need to try Slug Nematodes, Emma! They’re cheap and they have evicted EVERY. SINGLE. Slug & Snail from my garden (as of right now, two weeks later anyway. I’ll probs find one now I’ve typed that). 10000% worth it and you can also apply other types of Nematodes to the same plants, which fight against other pests (inc. carrot fly etc!) cover the carrots with a board! Helps to germinate them and protect them from birds etc

So sorry that you are getting so little joy from your garden. If peas go beyond perfection, leave them on the plant until the pods dry and you have seeds ready to go next spring (store in a cool dark place). Broad beans are absolutely delicious if you take the outer layer off to reveal the sweet beany wonder within. If you can’t manage small seeds like carrot seed, you can buy tape with seeds properly spaced out for you, not perfect but easy and less wasted seed. The wasp in your shed would ignore you unless you made a point of annoying it! Just trying to turn some negatives around for you 😁. Haven’t come across your videos before and was just surprised that you don’t seem to enjoy what you have.
