Taylor, I don't know if you'll see this in a sea of comments, but I just wanted to say thank you. I recently in the past few months got a severe breakout of cystic acne due to my birth control and it's taken a massive toll on my self esteem. Whenever I turn on the tv, or turn on RUclips I see beautiful tanned girls with perfect clear skin and it makes me feel even uglier. Then I found your channel. I can't tell you how refreshing it is to see someone who looks like me and is still so confident and beautiful! You have completely turned my self esteem around. i put one tiny drop of tarte's maracuja oil, and it makes a HUGE difference!! i absolutely love it with the oil!!

I hate watching alot of make up tutorials because alot of the girls that do them seem to be self obsessed and dishonest with the products because they're just trying to sell it but you're so genuine & honest.. love your videos such a nice girl!
Actually, the trick to make this foundation look flawless (this coming from someone with legit dry skin) is to wet your bb, squeeze it, apply foundation to the back of your hand and take the TINIEST of amounts at a time and work section at a time on your face. Very thin layers are the key :)
Estée Lauder foundation is one of the best I've found! I mix it with NARS Sheer Glow sometimes or Armani LS and it looks gorgeous!

Double wear is one of my holy grail foundations. I wore this for my wedding in 90 degree heat and it lasted all day and didn't budge. It's definitely matte and I find it might even have more coverage (granted, it's quite heavy though) than Dermacol. Great job Taylor - so excited for 15 days of foundation and I've even been inspired by your channel to send a box of my unused makeup to Beauty Share. xo

I just bought this 4 days ago, no joke and fell in love with it because of the coverage and light feel. I set it with Laura mercier setting powder and it wore amazing. I was outside in the sun and moving for 6 hours and it still looked amazing. I love that you made this video! it made me so happy :)
This is my go-to foundation. My skin is so oily most foundations break down very quickly but this is the only one that stays intact for long periods of time.
When you know you're obsessed with thataylaa because when she does swatches you can tell which foundation is which.

Your check-ins got me thinking. Shouldn't your makeup wear and look great for at least 8-9 hours? I mean, people work 8 hour days and can't reapply, right? Not only that, you have to get ready in the morning, and it is even common now to work 12 hour days, like a nurse for example. Makeup companies should strive for 9 hours as a minimum their makeup will look fresh. Right?
I like this foundation cause it doesn't transfer, doesn't smudge, keeps matte for a very long time, most important thing it doesn't break me out. You can literally put this on and go to work not worry about touching up. Cause it holds up well for a really long time. I use my Lancôme serum, then a ph balanced face cream, then maybelline master primer, the redness control one, then this foundation. You don't need to powder it, cause it sets by it self. People think it's heavy cause they put too much powder on it. If you want you acne covered and not showing throughout the whole day, this is the one to go.

First things first... I love this channel. I found it by chance, and I've binged so much, and haven't missed an episode of this round of 15DOF yet. I love that you're no B.S., and really forthcoming about the condition of your skin, and about the things that do and don't work for you. I can't wait to see the rest of the series, and all other reviews in the future.
The foundation: this is my ride or die. It took me years to find one that covered acne, redness, and most importantly, controlled my oil. I've recently found the trick that has helped it look more skin-like:
- Primer: Hourglass Mineral Veil all over, The Body Shop Instablur on the t-zone
- E.L. Double Wear foundation with the same Real Techniques sponge
- RCMA No Colour Powder to set under eyes, nose creases, and jawline
- The Gamechanger: a generous misting of Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray (the old formula though, as I heard they unfortunately changed it -- on the lookout for a replacement).
It's definitely the setting spray that melts into the makeup and merges with your skin in a way that looks more natural. The foundation does all the camo work, and the setting spray minimizes the cakyness.

You truly do wonderful reviews, and I also think you give a great sense of hope to women with cystic acne. They see that with the right products and techniques they can still keep their skin healthy and wear makeup, feel better about their skin and realize that they ARE BEAUTIFUL! !!! YOU are a remarkable young woman! This foundation always reminds me of my mother, who has worn it as long as I can remember, and I'm 50. It's too thick for me. When I've tried her's I can't wash my face fast enough!

15 days of foundation is such a helpful RUclips mini series bc you give out honest opinions on foundations and you give swatches of different types to compare them.
You should do a series where you mix foundations together to see what good combinations you can use

Smashbox 15 hour foundation and MAC prolong wear have nearly the identical ingredient/formula which I found very interesting. As long as I use my beauty blender and a thin layer I love it, and it really keeps me matte all day without having to powder alot which then causes me to be totally cakey by the end of the day. Now I understand why this is so loved and why both Smashbox and Mac have this formula in there lines.

I love this foundation, it's my "everyday" foundation! I've tried it with different powders and so far the best powder with this foundation has been the Neuteogena pressed powder.

I have super oily/combo skin (dry only around my mouth). I use Mario Badescus rose water, then prime with maybellines baby skin pore filler, then apply Double Wear with a brush and then use a damp beauty blender just to blend away any cakey looking areas. I bake, then I set with the rose water which takes away the cakey look completely! Seriously, I've worn it for like over 12 hours and it stays put.
Its super popular for a reason! I'd say get some samples the counter and try it for yourself!

I use an Artis dupe brush to apply this foundation. I only use one pump and no more. I dot it all over my face and blend well with my brush with a mix of swiping and tapping motions. It doesn't look like heavy makeup at all on me and I don't feel like I'm wearing makeup either and I have dry skin, however it has been well moisturized lately. I have mixed it with the Wet N Wild photofocus foundation as well and it looks incredible!
My faaaaaaavorite foundation everrrr!!! I wear it to my dance competitions and it stays put through blood, sweat and tears!!!

I've worn Estée Lauder Double Wear since I was 14. So maybe 7 years or so. Over the last year I've recently branched out to try other foundations. We have a very similar skin type and everything you've said is true with me as well. I usually wore this with a powder for all day wear. But when I started wearing it with shape tape, i noticed it wasn't holding up to the shape tape standard. (That stuff will stay on your face for a year I swear) through some exploration I've settled in a happy space with Pur cosmetics in porcelain. It's like I woke up with a flawless face. Thank you so much for guiding us with foundation videos. They're exceptionally helpful. 🤗

I was SO impressed with how well this foundation controlled your oily skin by the end of the day. Even if it looks a little cakey (i actually didnt notice that, but i havent seen it in person) that is such a plus for this foundation

This is my absolute favorite foundation!! On my skin it's super flawless, long wearing, non-cakey and full coverage. I go in with a silicone based smoothing primer and blend it out with a beauty sponge. It blends out really easily too. I also set it with a mattifying powder because your girl is oily af! Haha! Just want to say that you're an amazing person, Taylor. Your drive is motivating and I feel like you're going places in life. Not to mention, you're extremely genuine. I also wear 1C0 Shell and my local Ulta sells it in this shade. I grew up watching my mom wear this foundation and never thought of giving it a try until I saw other reviews and now I love it. By far my favorite foundation! ❤️

It's the only foundation (and I've used 10-15+) that actually looks good on me without fading through the day. I've been using 1C1, and its always been super dark on me. This is my favorite foundation! I haven't found anything that compares even though I really wanna try new stuff lol. I'm super oily so I need matte foundation and I prefer full coverage so I really love it.
I didn't like this foundation at first much either HOWEVER i really like it now. I use this most of the time when I want my makeup to last. This legit does not budge on me. I have dry skin. I have mixed Estée Lauder with the Tarte Rainforest of the sea. Its pretty good mixed but if i put too much of the Tarte it affects the wear. I have legit had super long days in the sun all day and this foundation stays looking great. I use a sponge to apply and I usually set it with a it cosmetics powder. Ive used other powders too. My main issue was finding a concealer for under eyes that worked with the foundation. What I have found that works best for me is a thin concealer like maybelline age rewind. I just use my finger to tap it in. I use primer and all that but none of that gives me issues or makes a huge difference in the wear of this foundation. Never looks cakey on me. Once you find the right combo for this i feel like you would really like it. I love your thorough reviews!
I'm happy you were willing to give this another try :) that was also my first "high end" foundation and it's the best one I've tried so far. The way it works for me is by using the elf mineral infused primer (it gives my face a smooth canvas), then I do my color correcting on my very dark acne spots since the foundation isn't as full coverage for me, then I apply the foundation with a sponge and blend it very well. I spot conceal with the catrice camouflage concealer if I want to completely erase the acne peeking through. I still lightly powder my face with either the rcma no color powder or the rimmel stay matte, because I don't feel the foundation is 99% transfer proof, but better than most foundations I've tried.
Now, what really makes a difference for me, after powdering lightly I set my face with a setting spray. While I let that try I do my eyebrows and then I go with the rest of my makeup (blush, bronzer, etc). Try some kind of setting spray or refreshing spray after your foundation.

My go-to combo is the DoubleWear light mixed with the Manic Panic white dream tone. It provides a ton of coverage without being cakey.

I wear Maybelline Super Stay primer underneath my Double Wear, which I put on with the Real Techniques sponge then set it with the RCMA No Colour Powder. 15+ hours of flawless skin! I also only apply a thin layer, the natural oils in my skin help it to look more 'skin-like'. I used to have oilier skin but it's changed to more normal now with my current skincare routine.

I've danced and jumped and danced in the Estee lauder foundation, and it stays put and looks so good even in heat and humidity. Ofcourse you can feel that you're wearing makeup, but it isn't heavy or anything. I haven't bought my perfect shade match yet, but when I do, I think it'll be even more amazing than it is now.
I love this foundation, but the Tarte Shape Tape does look weird every time I put it on top of the Double Wear. I found the Maybelline Age Rewind looks much better :)
I love this i find purity in with your fingers is best !! Definitely a holy grail for me does not settle I fine lines
i used it with the este lauder primer and it works great (stayed on even going through universal studios). i tried it with a beca and benefit mattifying primer and it melted off and separated after a few hours.
I always add a drop of oil to this foundation and it makes your foundation like skin. Thanks for the review Taylor xo

1C0 Is my holy grail!! I'm so excited you found that site that sells it! I am SO annoyed with Estée Lauder. They had Shell back in the day, and discontinued it. Then they brought it back...and then discontinued it again! And it infuriates me that they sell it in the U.K. and not here. There's pale girls in the US too! I have written them at least three times...
I'm so happy for you that you're going on accutane but I feel like there's no other youtubers with acne who do such thorough reviews like this :( I know you'll still be doing videos but you won't have as much to cover. please don't take this negatively! I'll just miss having someone on youtube who knows what *true* full coverage is, as opposed to all the youtubers with perfect skin who can make anything look full coverage
i absolutely love this foundation. I am pretty oily and have problematic skin that is mostly hormonal and this does not budge! I use a moisturing primer with it (too faced coconut primer or the Murad invisible perfecting shield, which neither contains silicone) and use very little with a brush and pat it in with a wet sponge and i have not turned back. A little goes a long way with this one. I also go a shade lighter because it does oxidize on my skin, but this foundation is so good to me otherwise! ❤

I literally live in the rainforest on Hawaii Island. Estee Lauder Double Wear is the only foundation that I have found that withstands the warm tropical weather and does not transfer. I also like Double Wear light but I wish they had a broader range of shades.
I know Estée Lauder is going to release new lighter shades in this autumn 👍
Okay I completely depend on this foundation, it's the onlyyyy foundation I've found that controls my oil for a long period of time and even when I do start getting oily, I find that it's not AS BAD as it is any other time. So I normally use the smashbox blemish control primer (holy grail, it's honestly helped my skin out soooo much) then I put the foundation on then I'll do a pressed translucent powder (either Essence or ELF) and then blush, bronzer, highlight. And finally I use the Makeup Revolution oil control setting spray and it really helps to melt everything into my skin.
Also quick tip! I believe we're about the same shade of pale (I think I might be slightly more of a neutral undertone, but still like very similar) and I also found that 1C1 was too dark for me. I think what really throws it off is how pinky/orange the undertone is and it does oxidize a tiny bit. So I did a lotttt of research and I read somewhere that 1W1 is actually lighter so I figured I'd give it a shot and it actually is lighter. It's the perfect shade. I barely have to blend it down my neck which has cut down on the acne under my chin and on my neck.
So if you do decide to start using this foundation more, I highly recommend trying 1W1 (and maybe even what I do with my base if you wanted as well, if you even see this lol)

Thing with estee lauder is because its such a thick and heavy foundation it is gona be visible. You can't wear a foundation as full coverage as that and expect it to not look like makeup.
I wouldn't class that as a negative on the foundations part, it's just how it is. If people wanted a natural looking foundation then they would probably get one that's meant to be.
Rare Sense she wears other full coverage foundations that look way better than this in her previous videos. this one is for oily skin, maybe this is why it looks a bit cakey and heavy... just saying 😛
