Yes. I buy so many foundations and yet I keep returning to EL double wear when I really want to get a perfect look! Hard to believe. And the shades are excellent.
Oh he must be feeling better - the sass! It’s nice to see EL getting some love. Everyone seems to want to hate on them. I used to wear Double Matte years ago but switched to Double Wear when the former was discontinued. You do have to really work it in or it can sit on top of your pores in a must unattractive way. Two hands are definitely called for 😂That said, it is a real performer and one foundation I will always have on hand.
Wayne there’s nothing more sexy than an ambidextrous make up artist. 😊Don’t listen to the naysayers. I was diagnosed with lung cancer a year ago. I had a complicated surgery the aftermath of which was torturously painful. I want to tell you how much comfort watching and learning from you brought me. I practiced many of the techniques you taught me and purchased products that worked beautifully too. I often wished you were my son. I would be so proud and honored to have a son like you. We would have so much fun! But the point is thank you for being an integral part of my healing. You’re the bomb!
Wayne has the vibe of that one fantastic male teacher you had in school - he really seems like the most genuine, lovely guy. No wonder he’s so beloved and well-regarded in the beauty community. Class act. Cheers Mr. G! ☺️✌️
When you go get a facial, they don’t use one hand, they use two hands. To me it looks like it feels good when you put on products with your two hands. That and aren’t you the professional makeup artist?! I mean come on people, Wayne knows what he is doing. Love you! Thanks for sharing.❤
I find the stay matte color to be nice but it’s too drying for me so I stopped using it. I tried their hydrating foundation but the colors were too yellow
Definitely my number one. I've been using Double Wear for some years and I try changing every now and again. Just keep coming back. Good to see your mojo back Wayne.
OK Mr Goss, now I have to tell you. Among all these makeup artists the web is full of, I consider you the best. You have changed my life repeatedly because since I have been following you (10 years now, I think) you have always taught me many things (2 above all: how to do eyeliner and contour). Sometimes I feel like you're reading my mind: last week I started using the Double Wear foundation again and I didn't like it anymore because I thought it was heavy and too dry... but now you've taught me (again) 2 tips that I'll put straight into tomorrow and they will (as always) solve the problem. Thanks forever my lighthouse. Greetings from Italy
I too learned something today about this makeup, and that is to work it into the brush in the palm of your hand first. Tried it today and it works really well. My foundation looks so much better now.
@jbr7300 yes true! I usually mix too dry foundations with more hydrating ones... But when you are putting on your face the HOLY GRAIL of foundations you expect it to be perfect on its own 😂
@jbr7300 same here except I’ve been using a face gloss. I used several high end, but morphe makes a good one believe it or not, for a cheapie. It dries without any tackiness or stickiness for a glass effect. I’m going to try your technique though! It’s a good idea I hadn’t thought of.
Love when Sassy Wayne comes out. I have tried to break away from EL, tried high end, drugstore, and all in-between. Nothing seems to work as well for me but for some reason I keep trying new foundations lol. I do like cushion foundations, but they still don't reach the greatness of my trusty Double Wear.
I’ve been wearing Double Wear for over 10 years now and it’s never let me down. I’ve tried other foundations and enjoy seeing what is new, but Estée Lauder truly knew how to formulate a fantastic staple.
@@chloenkitty I would say it’s medium but buildable to full coverage. I have acne prone skin so I try to use just one even layer and add coverage with concealer, but if you build up with the foundation instead I think it would cover.
After so many years of trying many foundations I finally purchased DW. I was in shock upon application. I couldn’t tell I had anything on my face! I will never ever purchase anything else!
Estee Lauder Double Wear was my "first love" with foundation in my 20's and I purchased this religiously along with Double Wear Light until the age of about 40. I had acne in my teen years & early 20's and this product gave my complexion an even look while matching my skin tone perfectly. About 7 years ago I started experimenting with the Luxury brands in addition to the Department stores. I 100% believe this formula is a tried and true Holy Grail!! ❤
@@rses916 it really depends on your skin type, skin goals, and skin problems. I have some acne scars, enlarged pores, minor fine lines, and Combination-Oily skin at the age of 47. My favorite foundations currently are Cle de Peau Radiant Matte, Prada Reveal, and Guerlain Parure Gold foundation. Chanel's Sublimage L'Essence de Teint and Vita Lumiere Blur Expert are also wonderful choices! 🙂💐
Have you tried any Chanel or Guerlain foundations? I curious about these, I just don’t really trust product reviews anymore and they’re such a time drain!!
My favourite foundation hands down! Look flawless and lasts all day. So happy I was finally matched correctly after two previous attempts. It’s the only glass bottle I take when I travel ❤
I use ELDW for all types of foundation coverage. I will thin it out with facial oil to create satin finish or moisturizer for sheer depending on my mood . Or use straight up for full coverage for special occasions. It is the best and timeless. All the other brands cannot compete
This is why you are the only makeup artist/content creator I watch. Thank you so much Wayne for another wonderful video, I loved the tip about using your palm to get a nice application. I love lighter application for foundation and I can’t wait to try this. I love how you always say that “skin should look like skin”, I totally agree that makeup should enhance and not smother.
Estee Lauder Double Wear NEVER FAILS ME. In any type of weather for any long day/night nothing on the market does what this does and I always have back ups! Great Video. PS I am 59 years old. This foundation hands down phenomenal.
I think Revlon ColorStay is also a great old foundation. Especially now that they have dry and oily versions which I switch between throughout the year
Love the dark background…I’m 72, just starting to wear foundation, been trying different ones, not this one yet. I have dry skin, face has more red now days. Lived during the time sun was great, lol, started using Drmtlgy or Ella MD, they both have color work great. I have always used great moisturizer….watching these videos help me so much
I have been wearing El DW for over 25years! I do mix in now with EL Futurist as my skin is drier with age. I use CT Magic cream as primer and I wear 2N1 Desert Beige as well! Love the dark background💜🇨🇦
I want to love this foundation, but I just don't. I find that it separates on my combo, mature skin. But, I LOVE the Luxury Cream Foundation. I've reviewed it a few times on my channel against other foundations and it keeps coming out as one of the best for mature skin. Great job, Wayne!
I went into nordstroms when I was 13 with a friend. I bought an eyeshadow brush. The woman helping me had the most amazing make up and I asked her what foundation she was wearing. She said ELDW. Her base was perfect. That was 28 years ago! My mom has also worn it my whole life.
I recently bought the newly reformulated Lancôme Tient Idol, if you love Estée Lauder DW you’ll love it! Same coverage and wear but feels lighter on the skin. Love them both!
Perhaps that’s what I’m looking for. Something that wears lighter on my skin. I love EL and have worn it for almost 20 years but I feel it on my face when I wear it and I don’t put a lot of it on.- almost 60 and I just want something that gives me a light skin coverage for the day😊 yesterday, I purchased Chanel Vitalumiere as it was very light going on and felt soft on my face- We will see
Also Lancôme teint Miracle is perfect for when Teint Idole (and maybe DW) feels too heavy / full coverage. I’m turning 40 this year and switched to Miracle because of my dryer skin. Love it so so much now.
This will be forever my favourite foundation due to the fact that it made my skin still look amazing when I suffered from acne. I am 39 now, no breakouts, I prefer just to use CC cream or tinted SPF50 moisturizer but any time I have event I need to look good, I go and buy a bottle for myself. Love your videos x
The dark background is great because it makes you and what you are doing the focus. I like it better. Double wear is the best for 16 of my years and so is Maybelline Great lash mascara. Best tools in my makeup bag and both so affordable. Are we ever going to see a restock of your foundation? I never got to try it and would love to.
I love how your blush really blends well with your foundation! I always have Estee Lauder as my weekend foundation. I love your dark background because I can focus on your face and the product you’re wearing.
I started using it about 15 years ago. At the time, I had chronic cystic acne and super-oily skin. This was the only makeup that looked natural and didn't break down. Now, my skin is acne-free, normal-to-dry, and aging, and Double Wear is still one of my favorites. I apply it over a rich moisturizer and use a little powder, just like Wayne showed in this video, and it still looks so natural. I am able to wear many different foundations these days, but I always have Double Wear in my makeup stash. It's great for those days when I want a long-wearing, transfer-resistant foundation.
I have tried and wasted so much money wanting to try different foundations. I always come back to ED! And I use two hands for my moisturizer and with this foundation I use my fingers and then go over really good with a beauty blender. And it’s perfect. I get so many compliments on my skin. Love the ambiance of the background! Another great video.
I’m actually liking the dark background. I have tried sooo many foundations over the years and then finally tried this and was blown away. Also that blush brush does look sexy! It looks like the perfect size and shape to bring it up to your eye and tie in the look.
I love the shade match. Double Wear is great for my long work days when I need the foundation to stay in place even in the heat. I love to combine it with Advance Night Repair serum or Paula's Choice peptide serum for a sheer natural coverage. I love the new background. Looks elegant and modern.
I've been wearing Estee Lauder for years ❣️ I've tried so many other's and I always come back to it! Just bought the powder version which goes well after using the foundation
Wayne, as always, you are ever so helpful with teaching us your techniques. I have this foundation because I have very oily skin, and it works well but I can't make it look as flawless, so I will be attempting what you showed us here.
I’ve been wearing Double Wear since I was 17, I’m 49 now!! I’d love to know how many bottles I’ve been through! It’s the absolute best! I mix a smidge of hyaluronic acid with it if I’m looking for a real sheer look, otherwise it just looks amazing as it is…day after day! Love your videos, you always bring a smile to my face! ❤
Very timely! I was going to ditch my EL Doublewear foundation because it never looked good, like real skin. I didn’t have the exact moisturizer but I tried your technique and it looks so much better. Thanks!
I just bought it for the first time about a month ago. I think it might be my favorite ever! I have super oily skin and it really does stay on all day and seems to help control my oil. Also great coverage without being cakey ❤
I love love love buying and trying out new foundations, liquid, powder, cream, stick, couchions etc… but I realized I’m always coming back to this one as well. This is the one I repurchased the most, I actually don’t know what else I repurchased at all but this! Light, got the coverage needed, not matte, not shiny, just like a good skin! I have combination skin and pores are not the smallest, it sits on my skin well, doesn’t look heavy or crease! It really is great… I usually apply it with beauty blender or just fingers
Wayne, your personality has been RADIATING lately! I laughed so hard at the comments about applying skin care with two hands...I wish you could've seen the reaction on my face!
Whenever high coverage and longavity are needed EL is my no. 1. From 15+ years I guess. I'm 40, combination to oily skin, shade 1N0 Porcelain. Best regards from Warsaw, Poland Mr. Goss 😊
It's still the best . I love it for summer and I do apply this foundation with two hands and I mix it with one small pump of by terry cc serum darkest one and it's just the best.
Hope you are feeling better. Have never tried that foundation I need to as it is supposed to be good for oily skin, I heard that it lasts a really long time without fading. Hope things are going well and you are making time for yourself. It is crazy hot here in the USA not going out much at all. Excessive heat and excessive cold aggravates my epilepsy not fun when that happens but others have more serious issues I am thankful as I know it could be worse lol. Take care and stay safe, blessings to you and your husband. ❤❤❤❤❤
I tried so hard to love EL double wear but at 63 it gives me a “cakey” look.. especially when Im on video.. im probably too heavy handed lol I am currently using EL Futurist Hydra Rescue
Dior Forever Matte (with a load of moisturizer under) is my fave - never fails. Will have to try ELDW again to see if it changes my mind (last test maybe 10+ years ago, probably my technique wasn't the best?). WAYNE - hope you're feeling better and that the shingles aren't too torturous horrible things
I love your sense of humour d'urine your tutorials, it cracks me up. Sassy 😂 Plus the info is really useful , but in a very entertaining way. You're the best
So happy to see you talk this up, Wayne! It's so flexible! Sheer or full coverage (depending on application), matte or luminous (depending on the base). It's my favorite and I've enjoyed using it for years.
I've used this foundation for so many years when I was much younger and my skin wasn't mature and dry as it is today. I was skeptical about trying this again in fear of too matte, too drying or looking like a dried up cake face. After seeing your video, I may give it another try. Thank you, Wayne.
Haha, I like "moody and disturbing" so the dark background is perfect! 😊 The Double Wear shade you used was perfect for you. I used to wear DW but havent gone back because I'm afraid it will look dry and enhance texture on my 74 yr old face. 🤷🏼 I'd love to know if people in their 70s still love this EL formula😊
I have a few foundations that come and go but Double Wear is ALWAYS on my makeup table. Nothing beats it 🌸 As a side note, I prefer the lighter background when you make your videos 😊
It was my go-to and life-saver when my melasma was at its worst. Just moisturiser then a quick application gave me full coverage. Now that my melasma is gone, I still keep it as a stand-by.
First I like the dark background because it makes your face pop and I can really see what you’re doing. I think I could always see what you were doing before but it just stands out more. I have never tried the Estee Lauder double wear foundation but I thought it looked beautiful on your skin. I do not have as good as a complexion as you but it looks like it would even out my skin tone quite nicely. Thanks Wayne! I’ll give it a try.
I stopped using powder to finish, because it makes me look like I have wrinkles that I don't. It's just movement lines from talking or making facial expressions. Instead of powder, I use setting spray after everything but eyeliner. Liquid eyeliner goes on very last, after setting spray, otherwise the spray melts it and causes it to smudge and smear or crack and peel, depending on the formula (styrene/glycol pens vs. dip acrylates).
I started wearing Double Wear about 20 years ago- Love it!!! BUT I want something that is a lighter coverage, not sheer …Almost 60 and no longer wanting the full coverage - Spend most time at home or at the market😁👵🏻 A natural look- Any suggestions? I am blessed with good genes and no wrinkles, smooth skin w/ freckles around my nose area😊
Yes, yes, yes, love double wear foundation. I used it for my wedding, my makeup artist on the day had her own fav brand she used but I insisted on using my DW. That was 10yrs ago. It's just a flawless finish. Now I certainly don't use it for my everyday use, I use cheaper foundation, but out pops the DW when I'm getting dolled up.😊
I agree I was just having the same thought myself. I use several different foundations on rotation. I have to say double wear is my favorite it’s got longevity, smooths texture, easy to apply & blend (pretty much foolproof), perfecting, etc.. I keep coming back to it.
This is great, thank you. I used this in my twenties and still use it in my 50s but now I use Curel Intensive cream as a primer so it is not exactly dewy but not matt either. I have tried many foundations but once you are used to one that really does stay in place for many hours I hate that most foundations come off when you touch them. I have rosacea and this covers it. Right now boots have an offer £11.85 off double wear and money off curel as well.
I’ve been using double ware for 12 years, I use Charlotte tilbury moisturiser underneath and I’ve always find if you really focus on good skincare, you don’t have to have it as a matt foundation my skin looks really quite dewy, I love it
Absolutely… My Mom and I have used this foundation forever and it is the absolute best and the shade 2C3 is perfect on my cool light medium complexion!
Yes it is, at least for my skin type. 🎉🎉 That is my go to every day, since I bought the first one, so many years ago, I am still using it. I've never changed. Why? If something works, there is no point to change it. The only thing I"ve added is a good base of cream, as the skin gets dryer, as we get older. That's it! Thank you for being so authentic! 😉😉👏👏 P.D.: you are like good wine, better with the years.
This guy just gets more handsome with time. And- don't ever lose the sassy!!!

Wayne, as always, you are ever so helpful with teaching us your techniques. I have this foundation because I have very oily skin, and it works well but I can't make it look as flawless, so I will be attempting what you showed us here.
Also, glad to see that you are feeling better! 😊
Legendary foundation for damn good reason. 🎉
Oh, how I adore you. Your beautiful spirit shines through and makes me smile. Thank you for being you.
Out of all the foundations I have in my collection, este Lauder double wear is still one of my favorites
2N1 for winter and 2C3 for summer.
Really the best of the best .
Thank you , Wayne 🙏
Wayne, your personality has been RADIATING lately! I laughed so hard at the comments about applying skin care with two hands...I wish you could've seen the reaction on my face!
@@MelodyFassino people pick the weirdest things to complain about in the comments! Lol!
Whenever high coverage and longavity are needed EL is my no. 1. From 15+ years I guess. I'm 40, combination to oily skin, shade 1N0 Porcelain. Best regards from Warsaw, Poland Mr. Goss 😊
I love the SHADE! Goes with the dark background.
It's still the best . I love it for summer and I do apply this foundation with two hands and I mix it with one small pump of by terry cc serum darkest one and it's just the best.
Really prefer this darker background 🌚
Hope you are feeling better. Have never tried that foundation I need to as it is supposed to be good for oily skin, I heard that it lasts a really long time without fading. Hope things are going well and you are making time for yourself. It is crazy hot here in the USA not going out much at all. Excessive heat and excessive cold aggravates my epilepsy not fun when that happens but others have more serious issues I am thankful as I know it could be worse lol. Take care and stay safe, blessings to you and your husband. ❤❤❤❤❤
Armani Silk is my go-to. I get compliments all day on my 60 yr old face when I wear it.
Armani silk is better for dry skin in my opinion
Like the dark background. Have been using ELDW forever. with my oily/ruddy complexion, it's a God send. Thanks for showing the love.
I tried so hard to love EL double wear but at 63 it gives me a “cakey” look.. especially when Im on video.. im probably too heavy handed lol I am currently using EL Futurist Hydra Rescue
I mix it with the EL ANR serum and gives a hydrated finish.
Dark and moody background definitely suits 😊
This is definitely my number 1 fav foundation and the shade matches me flawlessly!
I've used this foundation for so many years when I was much younger and my skin wasn't mature and dry as it is today. I was skeptical about trying this again in fear of too matte, too drying or looking like a dried up cake face. After seeing your video, I may give it another try. Thank you, Wayne.
I think I was using the wrong method to apply the EL. I’m going to try it again using this method. As always thank you 🧡🧡🧡
I love the dark backdrop!! Your lighting is beautiful!! PS..I love the way you say powder..☺️💫❤️
I’m going on 80 next month and wouldn’t use anything but DW
@@karenmckinnon6519 Thank you!
I just turned 70 and bought it for the first time last year, I have dry skin and add just one drop of oil to it and it works on me, I really like it.
Double Wear will never be beaten, and Ive tried loads! Its my holy grail, my No. 1 ❤
I have a few foundations that come and go but Double Wear is ALWAYS on my makeup table. Nothing beats it 🌸
As a side note, I prefer the lighter background when you make your videos 😊
I love learning new techniques on thinning out EL double wear, also I really love the dark background - I say keep it
Thank you! I like the natural finish of EL DW. The dark background is nice. It would really pop with more mood lighting on each side.
Liquid eyeliner goes on very last, after setting spray, otherwise the spray melts it and causes it to smudge and smear or crack and peel, depending on the formula (styrene/glycol pens vs. dip acrylates).
you look fantastic. also i like the contrast with the dark background. i can see the details of you better as you stand out more!
I also like that it’s relatively affordable & worth it because it’s a good product.
Ive been using double wear for years, I love it. I can’t find anything I like as good as it x
I also use both hands for skin care, so I'm there with you, Wayne.
ELDW is my HG. Been using it for years and no matter what new base products come out - I still go back to ELDW :)
Yay! 2 thumbs up for Double Wear, the most reliable formula and beautiful too with the correct prep.
Beautiful video, Wayne.
EL DW is the OG but I also have fallen in love with Hourglass Ambient Soft Glow foundation. Would love you to review!!
❤❤❤
I’ve been using double ware for 12 years, I use Charlotte tilbury moisturiser underneath and I’ve always find if you really focus on good skincare, you don’t have to have it as a matt foundation my skin looks really quite dewy, I love it
Double wear is my go to foundation. Has been for years.
Gorgeous Wayne! I hope you are getting some relief from your shingles. I’m thinking of you and sending healing ❤️🩹
Really loving the dark background! It makes your face & makeup pop 😊
Agree. I have been using this since it launched in 1997 - 27 years! I use the lightest cool tone Shell.
Same shade for me👍🏻
Love Estée Lauder products! Been using them for years and not one regret !
Absolutely… My Mom and I have used this foundation forever and it is the absolute best and the shade 2C3 is perfect on my cool light medium complexion!
Yes it is, at least for my skin type. 🎉🎉
That is my go to every day, since I bought the first one, so many years ago, I am still using it. I've never changed. Why? If something works, there is no point to change it.
The only thing I"ve added is a good base of cream, as the skin gets dryer, as we get older. That's it!
Thank you for being so authentic! 😉😉👏👏
P.D.: you are like good wine, better with the years.
