Discovery of India Ep. 1 - Bhitargaon Temple | India’s oldest Brick Temple l With English Subtitles

- Опубликовано: 6 ноя 2020
- As we embark on a journey to discover India, we make our first halt near Kanpur at Bhitargaon which boasts of India’s oldest brick (terracotta) temple dating back to 5th Century A.D. or before. It is the largest temple of that age to survive for 1570 years or more. The structure is wholly made up of bricks of assorted sizes and shapes emblazoned with terracotta panels depicting deities of different sects and beliefs viz. Vaishnavites, Shaivites, Shaktyas and Buddhists, thereby making it a secular structure depicting the tolerant age of Gupta Empire/Era. It also marks the development of Shikhar in temple architecture in India and its design and layout has been copied not only in India but abroad including temples at Dieng Plateau, Java. Bhitargaon’s temple is a living witness to the golden age of tolerance which lent stability and growth to the economy and furthered Art and Culture of India beyond its borders.

It is the most precisely documented video on this temple. The way it has been explained is very impressive. Lot of facts were taken up. Thank you 👍
Thank you for the appreciation. There is much more that could be added, but had to be edited out, keeping the time limit in view. If future we will do a sequel when we visit the temple.

It was very beautiful temple... It is in my hometown .... Mere baba logo ne btaya hai ki ek zamana tha jab saare mandir tode jane lage the ... Muslim rajao ki vjh se ... Hats off to one who restored it ❤️❤️ respect man
Thats a very simplistic explanation. There are many other possible reasons for the temples not standing the test of time.
Our country was and is unique. The only thing we have to do is to protect it and try to renew it as with ancient technology. Our real history was kept in dark for long, but it should come out with the people like you sir.
Fantastic research on Indian culture world is astonished to see them, but we indians have not bothered to preserve them,Great job keep it up.

It just breaks my heart how my country's the best history is lost due to invasions. I don't care what the world says, we Indians are the smartest breeds of humans, in every way.
congratulations, you have achieved racism tier 4.

I came across this video after a year. So nicely explained and presented sir. Huge respect. Pl keep sharing us the valuable knowledge.
This temple is in my home district, have visited this temple as well. Now restored to some extent.
Moreover very near to this temple is another temple called Jagannatha temple of Behata Bujurg which is almost same time in antiquity and is made of Stone.
Bro, you really need to gather people and motivate them to search for the lost panels and looted pieces. It is a shame that Hindus and India were not destroyed by foreign powers but by our own brothers and countrymen who became traitors to our own society and Country.
Wish you Best of Luck.
@@VikasSingh-lb5ls Kanpur district is dotted with such structures. There is a similar functioning temple of 10th century made of bricks at nimia Khera in Kanpur itself. These places are small, difficult to reach with almost no road and far off hence off the grid. I also find very less significance in text books prevalent in education of History. Now people are getting aware of it. Let’s hope for best.

Your entire series is absolutely brilliant. I am a First Generation South African of Indian Origin. I speak Hindi, Urdu and Tamil. However, most South African Indians no longer speak any Indian Language. So your hard work is lost in translation as a result of the fact that you do not have subtitles. Most of my non-Indian friends also would find your work very engaging, but I sat interpreting your first episode for them. far too much hard work. Please subtitle your work so that I can share it more widely.

Wow, what a time it was !! Thank you, Sir. It was the pinnacle of our urban planning and religious architecture.Dhanya Dhanya wo Samaj.
Sir,
In the video at 5:37, you say by 5th century itna resources hue logo ke paas ki itne bricks bana paaye.
Aapko bata dun ki aise bricks 5000 BC wale Indus Valley Civilization (IVC could be older but marxists put it at 3300 bc) mein bhi milte hain. Bricks being used in construction in India is really really ancient sir... IVC cities or even older or later Kingdoms has big cities using both bricks and stones
thank you harsh saha for pointing out this fact. according to this fellow all the ancient monolithic structures of india are recently made. but many foreign archeologist are eger to research on india's temple they now realise are billions of years old. he is just passing old wrongly written history on indian forklore by britishers.
True said
They all follow what maxmullar and other British Stooges created history.
@@myartworld5557 ,Sudhir Gosavi ji--- "Made Billions of years ago" ?? But sir how can the construction so old survived the ICE AGE, THE GREAT FLOOD,deluge and THE Fire or heat made the large animals like DYNASOR extinct from earth ? lol 3500 bc not 5000 bc bda chala gyaan bantne
Very good study, research and interpretation. God bless you.

Great presentation,3d imaging would be awesome,
3D scanning and 3D printing are impacting the world of historical preservation. Whether it is scanning a city center or documenting the details of an extinct civilization, 3D scanning is making the ancient world accessible in ways we never before imagined. This is relevant now more than ever to researchers, as the artifacts, they typically must examine are quite old, and in many cases extremely fragile. Thanks to 3D scanning these objects and many more can be accurately documented with no risk to the original artifact.NY.USA.
Very well presented video sir !!!...with detailed understanding of Gupta period and societal structure of that time... It is very informative... And it will be very useful for competitive exams like UPSC.

Sir, a very happy and prosperous New year to you. The temple itself proved our feat in field of architecture and construction. But I still don't understand why we still using cement like bonding materials when our ancestors had a technology of construction which last over thousands of years.
Maybe that tech.and material of construction needs lots and lots of labour forces and also time consuming.
Sir this brick stricture was located in telengana in Mahabubnagar distric ,in jadcharla mandal,it is called gollamallama temple it was Jain temple
