YT is a veritable treasure trove of Duran Duran videos, interviews and documentaries. If only we had the Internet back then. I feel like a kid in a candy store.
Duran Duran sounds just as good now as they did then. They are my forever favorite band. I cannot get enough of them now I have yo make sure I have all these songs on my playlist
I bought this album and got to see them reconstituted in Times Square when they performed there on ABC's Good Morning Ameica when this album came out in 2004. The crowd was great and the performance was as well as they played Astronaut and a couple of older songs. I know this did not last very long as Andy left a second time after the second album came out, and he only returned on the latest album for two of the three new songs. Still, the other four have stayed together and put out quite a few more albums over the last almost 20 years now. They are truly besides the Rolling Stones one of the longest lasting bands of all time.
This is a great video. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Duran Duran Forever and Ever and Ever 😂 …… In my heart and soul from the age of 13. 40 years for me this year. Happy Anniversary guys (just on the off chance you see it) Love Youse ❤
The Year is 1985. I'm 12 years old and just come across a tape of “Arena“. I'm mesmerized. In the following weeks , i buy the complete back catalogue of albums and 12‘‘ falling deeply in love with a group for the first time in my young life. And i also start to feel sad, for Arcadia and Power Station are about to release their stuff, and i fear, this band will never ever do anything again. I was just born like 3 years late and missed the whole thing while it was actually live..... Now 51yrs old me is sitting here , writing this comment and smiling....knowing how wrong the boy was....would like to go back in time to hug him and tell him: “don‘t be sad. All is well. All is not lost. Life is good....“
I was lucky enough to see the band for their pre-tour Astronaut show at the Orange County Fairground in 2005. The difference with Andy in the band was unmistakable. God bless his replacement, but it's not the same. This was my all-time favorite concert of all time, and I've seen them many times.
Fan for 40 years. This was fantastic. It's the only time I've seen Duran dancing n enjoying their own music. It filled my heart w joy. No lie. Ty whoever posted this.
Thankyou so much for posting, great to see these guys back together, I loved this album, didn’t get to see the tour though, I loved how they all spoke so highly of each other, Duran Duran forever
THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING THIS I HAVE BEEN A DD FAN SINCE 1983. And went back and discovered pre 1983 omg. This is hard to find in full I ADORE John Roger Simon Nick and at times Andy so talented but JT was plastered on my walls.....now I have a Rio Cover Canvas in my master bedroom ♥️♥️♥️
It’s so sweet how Simon always 17:35 tries to speak the local language. Bedroom Toys would never get played on the radio in America. We are too prudish.
Brilliant 👏 👏 👏 Bn a huge fan since 81 Seen the Fab5 16 times live Seeing them in Birmingham 5th May can't wait. Sad sad😔😔😔 news about AndyT We're all praying 🙏 🙏🙏🙏🙏 For Andy.
You guys are just so amazing ,with every thing going on at the moment in my life your music helps me beat my eating disorder so thank full .le bon girl 71 xx
wow nvr seen this b4..is AMAZING..thx so much for posting. so revealing..Loved hearing them talk abt each other (so much love and respect..the boys belong together!) and such great fan reactions around the world esp Berlin.
i was lucky enough to catch them in Jacksonville, FL in march 2005 during the Astronaut tour. i thought, now i can die in peace despite being all of 23 years old. i think my associate whom i dragged with me might have enjoyed the show slightly more only cos' he was trying to hook up with a local broad despite being happily married. he was into country and DD was def not his thing.
I thought about that too. Sony's band discarded Reportage in favor of RCM, some tracks were good but it received a lot of criticism and wasn't that successful. As for All You Need is Now, which is an incredible album, I listened to one of the tracks and I appreciate their work like Astronaut. If Reportage had been finished at that time in 2005/2006, perhaps it would have surpassed Reportage and maybe Andy would still be in the band.
And Sony, who was in charge of everything, the album was so overproduced that the other demos or songs that were recorded on Astronaut Sessions. I listened to and loved tracks from Beautiful Colors, Tv vs Radio, Lonely Bussiness, Pretty Ones, Salt in the Rainbow and Virus. The presence of the sounds were more uplifting in these demos and I heard a lot of John's bass, Nick's synthesizers, Roger's drum sound and Andy's nervous guitar which was much stronger because I can hear a lot of the presence of his guitar and voice by Simon was incredible in both the demos and the official ones. After the Danse Macabre was released with special guests Andy and Warren. Nick said a while ago that Danse Macabre's next album would be Reportage. Let's keep our fingers crossed for it to be released and see the light of day for this album. Many internet users were curious about how the tracks would sound, I hope they can do it.
Sunrise was Duran. The rest of the album sounded like a hodgepodge of other music that didn't really hang together well as a collection.Shame they never really finished the original one with Andy. I think it would have been a better album.
Exactly. They really needed to use 1 producer for the album, one that knew their music and not one that would try and shape their music into something unrecognisable to fans. They should have used colin Thurston for that album in my opinion.
the only GOOD record in DECADES was with ANDY TAYLOR IN THE BAND with ANDY TAYLOR in guitar. NONE EVER VALUED him. And that was it. Never made a HIT AGAIN anymore. Not even with the guy that made Bowie`s riff guitar "Let`s dance". It wont happen. Theyre 60. Too late.

Duran Duran sounds just as good now as they did then. They are my forever favorite band. I cannot get enough of them now I have yo make sure I have all these songs on my playlist
The reason I love this band, no one sounds like them. They have their own unique sound. Pure, raw talent ... no auto tune!! Duran Duran forever!!
And they continue to reinvent and wow us!

Fantastic album. I am so nostalgic for this period with the original Fab Five back together.
❤❤ Quite nostalgic for the Astronaut Era.
Wait to see the successor album to Danse Macabre. Keeping my fingers crossed for Reportage to be launched this year.
Thanks for posting. I have loved them since 1981.
Astronaut was the best album since their debut
This is a great video. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Duran Duran Forever and Ever and Ever 😂 …… In my heart and soul from the age of 13. 40 years for me this year. Happy Anniversary guys (just on the off chance you see it) Love Youse ❤
OMG!!!!!! The original line up of the best band on earth. My wildest dreams fulfilled!!!!!!
One of the best D2 albums. STILL BREATHING is spectacular. One of all-time favorites.

They need to release Reportage.
He’s the balls of the group, as he’s always said. With Andy the band had this aggressive edge.

I was diappointed, Their biggest comeback only for 1 album? (maybe 2 with the unrelease album "Reportage", exactly).
I miss Andy for the 2nd time.

Andy Taylor is sorely missed in the band, after it's released I hope Andy plays live with them live. ❤
i dont recognize the song at 8:40 , but it had GReat potential!! i assume it got cut...
Nice doc. Unfortunately the final version of the album is not so good.

where is Andy now days? i can barely find anything on him! (new)
Living in Ibiza and enjoying his life, I suppose!
He just put out a new song on Spotify...unfortunately it's still the same old 80's metal sounding thing he did in the 80s :-(
He is living his days out while fighting cancer :(

The Astronaut album could've been so much better. It was all over the place. Too many chefs in the kitchen comes to mind.
I'm not really up on what's going on. Did Andy come back to the group?
He did come back for a few years, but he left again in 2006.
Thanks Duran Duran rocks. Shout out from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan!
No, they left Andy pal
