Could you do it with an odd number of total strings by looping three together? Say you had another color on the rainbow side you could put both red and orange through the black? Hope that makes sense...
When I was a teenager many many moons ago I could never work out how to make friendship bracelets. My brain could make no logic with them. And back then there was no internet... Shock horror!!! So, finally at the grand age of 40 I am finally able to make a half decent bracelet thanks to discovering your youtube tutorials. I love that you break down the parts of the bracelet so I know I can recap on making a loop or the chevron etc etc so I don't need to skip through to get to the parts I need. That is helpful for me anyway. I am enjoying my new hobby and excited to try some different techniques and even making my own patterns (hopefully). Can't wait to show my nieces and nephew how to do these as well... I will start them off basic and show them the tutorials... Their parents will love me for it I'm sure with embroidery thread from one end of the house to the other lol...
This seems interesting - i may try it. I've just been adding a little extra to one of each odd end and making sure the extra bit is the same length as the loop and just tying it into the loop. If that makes sense.
Hi Masha! Would you consider doing a twisted ribbon pattern bracelet tutorial? It’s relatively simple, but I’m having trouble understanding other tutorials. Let’s be honest....you’re the best at explaining these things. 😄🙌🏽
I should have heeded your warning! This was such a tedious and frustrating way to spend my evening 🤣🤣 but I couldn't settle for anything other than a loop so it had to be done! Bonus- you get enough strings to do 2 bracelets so I don't need to do that again just yet!! 🙈🤣🤣
Masha, to keep the thread from twisting back on itself as you're separating the six strand, clip a spring clothespin part of the way down the thread. When you get to the clothespin, carefully set the 'sides' apart and move the clothespin further down the combined length of thread. Dividing the six strands down to two three strand units should be much easier when you have weight on the six strand. Hopefully you can get an idea of what I'm talking about.
Hi :) First of all thank you for making this video. Secondly, for example it says that we should do a forwards knot, but the two strings's colors are the same, with which one do we make the knot? (I know that normally the string we're doing the knot with is on top of the other color on the pattern, but I get confused when the two colors are the same.) I don't know if I told you my question correctly because I'm Turkish. I hope you answer my question.
Hi! I was reading through the comments and I found you question! Im not sure if I'm too late, seeing as this comment was posted 3 months ago, but nonetheless I can answer! When there is a knot with two strings of the same color, it doesn't matter what kind of knot you make. The knot will look the same with whichever types of knot you decide to do. hope this helps!
Are you supposed to separate the strings fully? And after you separate it, do you just throw half of the split strings away? Because you only need one of those half strings to insert through?
Can you make a tutorial on the jipijapa bracelet, every time i make it i mess up. I can do the first part but once the colors swap idk what happens but something always goes wrong
Masha i know that this comment is on the wrong video but i wanted to do it on your most recent since i thought it would be easier for you to see it. I am not sure which direction to pull my foreword and backward knots in. i have heard most say to pull your foreword knots to the left and backwards knots the right but i have heard some that say the opposite. i’m not sure which to believe so i knew if i asked you i would get the right answer
I’ll try this soon and update my comment, but I think that sliding the embroidery floss through wax after pairing it will make it stick together again like normal floss.
@liliana allen i would assume all of the strings get doubled in length and then get split, since you are hooking the rainbow ones through the black/white so you can make the loop.
Awesome art, as always ! Kinda already "frustrated" because there is 7 colors in a rainbow. 😅 But still, I do love this particular bracelet because of the colours you used. Rainbow would be for love, friendship, pride and acceptance. And most important : zebra. It symbolises genetic diseases, like Elher-Danlos Syndrom I'm suffering of. One beautiful bracelet for double impact. Great job ! 🌈♥️🦓
Guys, I have a hack for this! Splitting the thread is actually easy! When you split the thread, split it while holding it up (Like in a T shape and pull it apart) slowly and you'll have no complications! Gravity helps the thread to untwist the remaining non-split thread. Sorry in advance if anyone mentioned this.
Masha, could you make a loop work when your threads are even in number but not in color? Example thread order: red, red, blue, red, blue, red, blue, red I am newly reintroduced to this art and have not been able to reason out how this order could work with a loop.
Omg I saw a post of hers on instagram and looked through the comments and Someone asked how she does that and it's been bugging me for about a week and since then I've been thinking about it all day and thought of this!!
I really hope you see this! So I have not tried thus yet but i was thinking making a crochet magic knot (not sponsored but you can watch the video CROCHET BASICS: the magic not, or something like that but I thing you will find it) then you can do your loop over top of those knots like normal and hopefully if you put each colour on the right side and my imagination isn't insane it should work... idk tho. BTW if you tried it and it worked or you think its a good idea just like so that she See's this.
so I clicked the video bc this is the exact pattern I am working on BUT!!! I have the holy grail ppl...I just found another video, apologies it's from vlatkaknots and not from this streamer sorry if it's bad taste but I thought we could all use this and masha it'll save you time next go round. So you take the black and white fold those in half...tape down just after the halfway point as if you're going to start your loop normally...then you bring over the individually cut colored ones and tape the ends just overtop the black and white ones. you start your loop as normal. when you reach desired loop length you untape the colored strands...pull them gently one by one till theyre just inside the black or white loop..adjust loop as needed. Close the loop with a couple square knots and boom! All started and ready. Again credit goes to Vlatkaknots as I learned it from her but hopefully this helps next time Masha and all! 😁👍🙌
Thank you this is what I needed I was making a watermelon bracelet and my tie looked weird because I didn't know how to do this I'm a beginner but I think I still be able to do this

I guess you could!
Ah! Makes sense! thank you!
YASSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
What video is thay

I'm glad to hear you're enjoying bracelets! :) Have fun!
yay! I watched your loop videos yesterday, and was sad you can't make a loop for every pattern, thank you so much Masha!
Now we need a tutorial on how to do a loop with an odd number of threads so 9 strings for example😭😭
or 201
Or 69
There is a way but idk if I can type it well but if you want reply to me and I'll do it (don't want to type it in case you don't see).
Hammy Headquarters please, i need iT too🤪
@@e.s.potato1065 i see
Wow I never knew there was a way for uneven strings/colors thank you
I saw this tutorial on Claire’s Instagram and was hoping to see a video on it! I’m so glad to see you made one so quickly :)
I had a question
Could you make a video on how to make your own patterns?
There are generators online
couldn’t you still use this method for bracelets with uneven strings and just attach two colors on one side onto one color on the other side?
Julie Nicely i think that’s a great idea I’m surely trying it
Didn't think of that lol
I've never even thought of doing this- Thank you so much Masha and Claire!
This seems interesting - i may try it. I've just been adding a little extra to one of each odd end and making sure the extra bit is the same length as the loop and just tying it into the loop. If that makes sense.
THANK GOOD
I needed a tutorial on loops for uneven numbers of thread
THANK YOU MASHA
An idea: overlap the ends of the floss and then tie the knots for the loop
Hannah Beckford-Drake this is what I do since I’m a beginner
omg thank you for making this!! so helpful and the technique is genius!
Hi Masha! Would you consider doing a twisted ribbon pattern bracelet tutorial? It’s relatively simple, but I’m having trouble understanding other tutorials. Let’s be honest....you’re the best at explaining these things. 😄🙌🏽
I think I got the hang of it now. 😊

im super late and going to be making a braclet similar to this one... I'm curious tho, why do you need to separate a string into 2 different strings?
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU I NEEDED THIS BECAUSE I HATE DOING BRACELETS WHERE YOU HAVE TO HAVE TWISTED TIES AT BOTH ENDS
Thx for this video, I've had a cool pattern I've wanted to do for a long time but it had an even number of strings. This was very helpful.

Dividing the six strands down to two three strand units should be much easier when you have weight on the six strand. Hopefully you can get an idea of what I'm talking about.
Do you prefer using craft thread or embroidery floss to make bracelets?
I always wondered if this was possible, thanks masha❣️
Ooo~
Can't wait to see the finished product!

Can you do a video of how to make straight edges on alpha bracelets?
You should make a challenge when you try to put a bunch of different patterns in just one bracelet! That would be super fun to watch!
Are you supposed to separate the strings fully? And after you separate it, do you just throw half of the split strings away? Because you only need one of those half strings to insert through?
I'm pretty sure that you can reuse the other half the the strings to make another bracelet the same length
Which alpha bracelet won for the bracelet we all do together?
Thank you so much this video is so helpful & the technique is ingenious your channel has helped me so much I am so grateful thank you.
Can you make a tutorial on the jipijapa bracelet, every time i make it i mess up. I can do the first part but once the colors swap idk what happens but something always goes wrong
Lol. No joke I needed this yesterday. And for greek wave
This was perfect for my bracelet i was about to make!!
wow this is an awesome solution!!
thank you for the idea 💜💛🧡💚❤️💙
At first I was a little perturbed by how weird it was but when you folded them I realised how clever it was lol
Thank you Masha! I know can make braided friendship bracelets!
Could you instead make a tiny half knot with a pair of strings? Since that would be covered up by the forward backward knots of the loop.
I pull all my knots up. Check out my basic knots tutorial to see me do it slowly
I’ll try this soon and update my comment, but I think that sliding the embroidery floss through wax after pairing it will make it stick together again like normal floss.
does that mean EVERY SINGLE STRING needs to be doubled in length, or just the odd numbered ones? (For example, the rainbow colored ones here)
@liliana allen i would assume all of the strings get doubled in length and then get split, since you are hooking the rainbow ones through the black/white so you can make the loop.
Paola Ivanna thank you!! :)
Can you do a beginners loop for this? Like you tie a loop at the top?
yeah you could, but the strings would start to separate and it might get tangled
Awesome art, as always !

Sorry in advance if anyone mentioned this.
what did you do with the other part of each one? because if you split one in half and fold it youll have another part of each one?
Quick question! If the strings I needed to pair were the same color, could I just use one really long string instead of splitting it?
Sure! I'm assuming that would work.
yay!! this worked so well for me thank you!
This is such a genous idea! i love it!
Masha, could you make a loop work when your threads are even in number but not in color? Example thread order: red, red, blue, red, blue, red, blue, red I am newly reintroduced to this art and have not been able to reason out how this order could work with a loop.
I have been trying to find this video for soooo long!! Because I'm doing that braclet
4th!! I LOVE YOU 😭😭😭😭
Omg I needed this video for a bracelet I’m about to make!
What if you didn't put strings on half? Could you yust put two strings of each colour together like so?
Omgggg this was so helpful now i acc know how to make a nice loop for non regular bracelets
I love you'r videos 😊❤
but where do you use/put the other three thread strings after ??
This type of conecting two strings is from knotting. When you try to do a jumper but your sting ends you want to conect it in invisible way 😂
I am confusion, if you take the floss and separate it into to three strands then you fold one to make the loop, what about the other three strands???
Put it aside to reuse later
Omg I saw a post of hers on instagram and looked through the comments and Someone asked how she does that and it's been bugging me for about a week and since then I've been thinking about it all day and thought of this!!
Where do u put the otreh half of the string? Can you reuse it?
is there a way to make the loop one single color with this method?

You basically just do a regular chevron, but when you do a knot in the middle you do a forward backward....
i’m just wondering what she thinks of the Vsco bracelets trend🤷♂️
