First off, really enjoying your channel. Found you some months ago and it's one of my favorites. Excellent review of the Lumi! I've been on the fence about this one since it's release. And although I'm no closer to a purchase after watching a, your review was highly informative, and I thank you for that. I'd be forced to buy a couple, because like you the Micarta/silver configuration is what I'd only be interested in owning and I'd sell off the blacked out one. That was yet another aspect of your review that was highly entertaining for me. Anyhow, thanks again.
Thank you Jesse - sorry for taking so long to respond, it has been nuts for me since Saturday and Wedesday I have to go out of town again, I have been home only for the night for the last few days straight.
Great review, not sure when you started adding chapters to your videos but it makes your already very-well-organized videos even better. I really like this model but I wish they would do a satin and micarta combo (white or natural linen micarta would look fantastic).
I didn't start on my first video in 2022 but it was in the first few sometime. It's just a little bit more work during editing but it's easy to do. I know many people like to skip the measurments - so I usually throw in some extra content during that segment for the guys who stick with it because I happen to think the details are important. I agree, I really like the look of a satin blade. I like like stonewash more but a crisp satin finish can be very appealing right out of the box and they definitely should have more linen options. I hope this knife does very well and they decide to put out more versions.
Thanks for this great review. I know I'm late, I've just discovered this knife and I'm completely fascinated, it's something special. Are the handles (Micarta, G10, whatever) glued? could it be replaced?
The angles are just screwed on. I didn't remove all the screws in the teardown section of the video but it is very easily done - easy enough to replace if you want to mix and match certain handles or if you have the skill you make your own handle scales.
Hi Jake, what a nice knife, love it! I would love it even more if it was a slip joint 😄 Thanks for the great review and have a great weekend! Best to you!
I just grabbed one of these on sale recently , what did u adjust to make the pointer finger open a bit easier was it the detent hole? cause it seem like mine doesn't go in all the way. It has enough tension that it closes with a decent snap and doesn't open with any bumps or hard slaps. But id like to make it sit flush in there got to find my dremmel bits.
I have to start with saying I am not confident that I understand exactly what you are experiencing with your Lumi. I am confused if your issue is with deploying the blade to the open position or if it is with closing the blade into the handle, but I can say that I think my 3 part video on fixing detent issues will very likely give you the information you need - ruclips.net/p/PLAN2QNvwVtllW8jKaEZt5CqmNkTFMR1w7 (Yes, it is a bit of an investment in time to watch these but there is some great information in there on fixing the main issues with liner lock, frame locks, and the information also applies directly to detent type slip joint knives. Even though I don't directly talk about detent slip joints in these video the remedies are 100% identical. BUT, if there is an issue with a new knife I always recommend getting it replaced instead of trying to fix it. Fixing is for knives that you cannot easily return or get a refund.
@@CanadianCuttingEdge Yeah i was saying the deploying was a bit stiff with my index finger and would it be because my ball does not sit in the detent hole all the way.
Cool. Thanks Jake. Been wondering about this one. It strikes me as a high value budget answer to a knife like the Kizer Fiest or Yorkie, or any of those super compact folders with more premium steels, but considerably higher prices.
Actually they now do sell an all-black one. The product code is C20024-4. But the green-on-silver you created is the best look. Re. the lanyard: couldn't you just tie one round the back post?
Yes I am aware of the all black one. When I recorded the video it slipped my memory, but I did add text to that effect during editing. - Check out 11:35 Lanyard around the back post is very likely to get cut up during carry becasue there is nothing to protect the paracord from the sharpe edge of the blade.
I don't generally do comparision videos, and I have 3 senuct knives that still need to be reviewed - so I don't now which Sencut you want me to compare it with.

I love the size and footprint. Reminds me of my swiss army knives.
Yes, it has a bit of that feel to it.

Civivi makes a fine cutting tool. These look great.
I recently picked up an Altus with the same black finishing and wooden handle. It's fantastic.
Ah yes, the Altus looks like its a great choice. I wish I could get every knife I am attracted too.
Darn you beat me to it. Got my Lumi yesterday and will be posting a review in a few days
Nice. and I had mine in hand for quite a long time already - I got a big backlog due to my surgery.
Thanks for this great review. I know I'm late, I've just discovered this knife and I'm completely fascinated, it's something special. Are the handles (Micarta, G10, whatever) glued? could it be replaced?

@@CanadianCuttingEdge Thank you. I have ordered one and maybe make wooden scales for it.
Hi Jake, what a nice knife, love it! I would love it even more if it was a slip joint 😄 Thanks for the great review and have a great weekend! Best to you!
A double detent slip joint and it could still be a flipper - that would be nice.
I think the pocket clip used in the Kizer Feist would be ideal for this little one. Great video!!
Yeah, that might indeed be a better clip.

It is pretty much as you say. As long as you are okay with a fragile tip you might like it.
The pocket clip is almost as wide as the handle 😄. Cute lil knife tho
Actually it is only about 1/3rd the width but I totally get your point.

can you comprare it to the sencut that you are about to review? Once you do I'll buy one or the other...

@@CanadianCuttingEdge I mean the scepter. Comparing sizes and dimension would be enough
