Love the reaction. Got to share a moment here; I was at Metaltown late 00-s and Opeth was perfofming. I noticed something was off and turned to my friend and said "this is new, and a bit weird", and a guy to my left said: "well, I´m no longer in the band". And that was Martin, standing right fucking next to me!
Loved seeing you truly enjoy listening to this song. Soen has released some amazing albums recently, so it will be great to see you check out some more of their music eventually.
@@JWSoundworks2 Yeah, I feel the same ... With Katatonia/Opeth/Antimatter/Tool being some of my favorite bands this falls directly in my comfort zone. I saw them live twice now (yesterday in Leipzig and the month before at the Brutal Assault in the Czech Republic) - they are simply an amazing live band! I think they are in the UK/NL area in 2 weeks, so you might want to check them out.
It's so good to hear someone talk about Martin Lopez. He's phenomenal! Amon Amarth, Opeth, Soen...and in each he is exactly what that style/record required. I think he's the greatest drummer ever because he plays what the song needs always. He shows more skill in his restraint than any technically impressive drum solo. The moments he stops playing you realise it was him you were listening to all along
Fantastic band and album. There's such a warmth and smoothness to their compositions I remember gushing at all the same moments haha. Would recommend Penance and Lunacy (great melodic writing). Oh and kudos on the awesome ear for music and input, cheers!
Yusssssss! Whole album is fantastic, production is awesome, songwriting is perfect. First album with new guitar player Cody Lee Ford - the fooking Gilmour of metal 🤘 (check the song LOTUS from the album of the same name). Also the album IMPERIAL is fire and the new stripped back studio live recording is ridiculously good. Ridiculous! 🤘 Martyrs Lunacy River All bangers off that album too 🤘
Good call. Another absolute legend of a drummer. His early work in Sabbath was the main element of the band that first grabbed my attention as a kid. That 1970 Paris live footage blew my 6 or 7 year old brain apart!
My man it's good to be back. I have a band for you Polyphia have you heard of them. Playing God is the song Polyphia is an amazing instrumental progressive prog jazzy band tim Henson is the founder of the band it's really good I think right up your alley . I can't wait to actually say it's Polyphia time and I'm always going to be here for that I'm serious about this one man absolutely amazing musicians all of them. Peace from Stan the Alaskan and you know I'm just Jinjer fan and this band is special next level stuff just like that only different 😂
Lol hey dude, yeah I've been into Polyphia for years now. Saw them live back in 2020 but was into them a few years before that. Although, I haven't heard the new stuff yet because I've been holding off for a change to react to it.
Suggest you give a listen/review to Arcane's album Known/Learned, particularly the song Unturning. Also Anciients' album Voice of the Void, song called Ibex Eye. Plus the song Daughter of the Mountain by Caligula's Horse. And Feathergun in the Garden of the Sun by Rishloo. Hopefully some of those will be new to you! Big Soen fan here.

Yeeees I love Soen, and if you are interested in what you hear I would love to see a reaction to the whole album, great work as always, big up man!🤘
Total vibe!! 🤘🤘

If you ever have the chance to see them live, do it. They are awesome live.
They are 🔥❤️👌🏻
Soen is one of my favorite swedish prog bands (with opeth and katatonia). Very underrated but very loved from they how discovered them 🥳
I love both Soen and Opeth, so this is an amazing recommendation. Don't know how Katatonia slipped under my radar until today 👀
Loved seeing you truly enjoy listening to this song. Soen has released some amazing albums recently, so it will be great to see you check out some more of their music eventually.
The recipe going into this stuff feels like a who's who of some of my favourite bands. Superb!

Un crack el Uruguayo! 🤘💪🙌👏👏
Ohs my god you love Katatonia! One of my absolute all time favorite bands EVER! And Soen too. Both in top 10.
Pura calidad soen, elegancia de banda
I feel you man! This song shook me the first time I listened to it too. My favorite Soen song.
Soen … words are not enough. Lopez. Love! They are exceptional live!
More soen more soen more soen more soen ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻

Soen ❤
You have an excellent taste in music JW.
Soen is premium prog.
I would love to hear what your regular rotation is on prog. Do you have any playlists?
If I get a playlist together I'll let you know. Thanks!
Saw them live this year...incredible
It would be amazing a reaction to some songs of the first album if you haven't heard yet, however amazing work❤
Would love to see you react on some more Soen
i really love this song
You are a music recommendation engine. This track was so good. You should be on Soen's payroll. Well done John!
Great reaction Just think Soen is fantastic. The Lotus album is amazing...It would have been great if you reacted to Tools Pnuma drum cam to.🔥🤘
Thanks Anita. I've done both the regular pneuma track and the drum cam one, you must have missed it!
SOEN is one of the best bands nowadays!
A good soen song to check out is Ennui from the album Tellurian. It’s got a wicked triplet groove.
🎵🎸Moody, atmospheric, instrumental, one-man-band prog? Right this way 👇

Martin Lopez actually played on Ghost Reveries. I don't think he's ever played any live shows after it though, due to his illness.
Wouldn't mind if you were to do a marathon reaction to listen through the Lotus album, which this is from. Wouldn't mind at all... 😇
Reaccion a memorial!!!! New single!!!!

All bangers off that album too 🤘
The production is wonderful, almost Dreamers Hideaway by Klone, which is stunningly forgotten too.
Don't know that one, shall stick it on the (ridiculously long) list!
@@JWSoundworks2 damn... I would love to have Klone as a new band. You should.
I would love to see your reaction to and hear your thoughts on the album “Hushed and Grim” by the band Mastodon.
Martin is the most underrated guy in metal scene i think..
The drumming reminds me of Bill Ward.

I'm eager for you to check out the new album Imperial, it's quite good!

Oh you're right, this one definitely reminds of Katatonia
Too bad they seem to be going away from this style a bit. Still enjoyed the last album
No idea why Soen seems to fly under the radar even for a lot of "prog/metal" people. Great band, the last couple of albums are beatiful.
Whats your favorite from Katatonia?
Last Fair Deal Gone Down or Tonight's Decision!
@@JWSoundworks2 old gold, in my favs The fall of hearts for the most beautifull ballad Residual
Have u ever tried leprous ? Would love to watch u reacting to them too 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
I've done the silent revelation. It's on my channel. Have heard much more of their earlier stuff. Awesome band!
