Walt Disney's Texas John Slaughter: Part 6 "The Slaughter Trail" Season 5 Ep 23

"Texas John Slaughter made 'em do what they oughta, 'cause if they didn't, they died!" From Season 5 of Walt Disney's Disneyland Anthology program we have Episode 23: The Slaughter Trail, which originally aired March 20th, 1959. In Part 6 John proposes to Sam Underwood, another rancher, that they combine their herds and take them to Arizona where they will command higher prices. Underwood agrees but doubts they can use the usual route, the Chisholm Trail, due to drought conditions. John plans to use a new trail he's scouted, one with plenty of water, but it passes through Comanche territory. Starring Tom Tryon as Texas John Slaughter, Sidney Blackmer as Sam Underwood, Bill Williams as Paul, John Larch as Frank Boyd, Slim Pickens as Buck, Norma Moore as Adelaine Harris and Harry Carey Jr. as Ben Jenkins.

This comes very late, but to be fair, his first wife did die of small pox in real life.
