Seriously thinking about cancelling my order for the new Juniper but no idea when it’ll come to Australia.

If the differences between the current model and Juniper are anything like the Model 3 upgrade, then I would recommend trying to get the current car as cheap as possible. The improvements are not worth waiting for and certainly not enough to overcome the lack of stalks.
@@bigredog100 Efficiency differences are marginal, at best, because it is purely down to slightly better aerodynamics. And the suspension is better, but much softer tyres cancel out any handling benefits. I honestly didn't think it was much different to my exiting model 3, which is a recent build from China. The lack of an indicator stalk is terrible for trying to indicate when the wheel is turned, you will always have to look down at the wheel and do some mental gymnastics to use the buttons. About the stalks - its coming soon by a 3rd party company called enhauto, the same company making the S3XY buttons. They are developing the stalks now and it should be out soon for the new refreshed model 3 and Y. I agree it was a bad decision to remove the stalks and Ultrasonic sensors. bought mine now, here in germany they reduced the price by over 10% and offered 0% Financing for 5 years. The new version that might come in the next 6-12 months will probably cost around 55-60K EUR and have 7% interest on financing, probably costing over 10K EUR in all comparing to the offer now.
I just bought a 2024 Y and got to transfer my FSD from my 2019 model 3 for free, got $2500 off for picking a unit they had in stock locally and got the $7500 tax rebait for the win. Won't get the FSD transfer or $2500 off the new refresh. I paid $6k for FSD on the 2019.
My current car has a volume rocker on the steering wheel. The amount of cognitive load to adjust the volume (thinking of wheel position and which direction the thing needs to move) while moving the wheel is a lot. How they thought this was ok for something as fundamental as indicator stalks is beyond me.
Have you driven the original M3? Highland is a much better car and no reason to think they will not do th same shanger to junioer makes it worth the wait. It should be out mid 2024, not that faw into the future
The front of this is incredibly ugly so I'd wait. Also, hopefully they slightly lower the roof line to make it less bulbous in profile. I haven't seen any indication the of the Juniper being in production anywhere yet.
Seriously? No phone or iPad. I was hoping they just put physical controls for the heated seats. Sure now you can control the "fan", but still no third climate zone.
People need to relax about the stalks. Change is the nature of life itself. If you drive with the push pull, hands at 180 degrees from each other, instead of dangerously crossing your arms over, then the button indicators are fine. I will gratefully receive all the juniper updates for the tiny sacrifice of adapting to no stalks. Unfortunately so many people are snowflakes and victums theses day🙃
I believe 800V and 48v architecture is wishful thinking for Juniper. Too big changes for a facelift. New cars from the scratch could have them if financially viable. Longer range LFP battery would be a killer feature
I am not in a hurry -so i wait - IN DK the Tesla sales person told me that he have more end more persons who stop or cancel the Y order, when they better like the new design on highland, but they woulld have a Y. I think this stop costing Tesla big missing sales numbers, see all the new E cars showing up now. See the new VW style models filed up with a lot of packedes, new Peugoet E 33008, new Reneault
"Ever since the Tesla Cybertruck was spotted charging, people suspected that Tesla's 4680 cells were as bad as they were on the Model Y. The first documented Cybertruck charging curve confirms this, showing that the Tesla Cybertruck spends a lot of time charging."
As an American, I would like to provide my perspective on the upcoming Tesla and Juniper vehicles. While it is exciting to consider the latest features and advancements, there are a few points to consider before making a decision. Firstly, it is important to note that the current Model Y and the rumored Juniper are expected to have the same battery. While the new Juniper may offer ambient lighting and a back seat monitor, these features can currently be obtained through third-party market options. The improved seats and air suspension in the Juniper are certainly appealing, but it is worth remembering that first-generation refreshes often come with bugs and issues. Therefore, it may be prudent to wait for the second iteration of the refresh to ensure a more refined experience. Additionally, the rumor of the Juniper not having driving stalks could be a dealbreaker for many individuals. While simplicity is desirable, eliminating driving stalks may be seen as an excessive departure from conventional vehicle design. In such a case, the 2024 Model Y might be a more suitable choice. Furthermore, the current 2024 Model Y is available at its lowest price point, and the potential removal of the $7500 rebate if Donald Trump is re-elected should be taken into consideration when making a decision. Ultimately, the choice between these vehicles depends on individual preferences and needs. It is important to carefully weigh the pros and cons of each option before making a decision.
Worth nothing the grey cloth in the highland is only on the standard range, the long range has black suede. TBH, the grey is going to get dirty. The roof liner still being grey is a joke for the same reason. Centre rear seat heater removed also.
I would not buy any first year model, even Toyota. If Juniper comes out this year, the earliest to buy would be end of 2025. So if you want Model Y, lease one now and after 3 years, switch to Juniper
No stalks no thank you. Ridiculous and not practical. The steering wheel isn't always in the upright position when needing to indicate hence the need for independant stalks. Its dangerous this new way.
I love electric cars but this is just giving electric cars a bad name. Its basically an applience on wheels. At least the model S had style and a proper dash this thing has neither. Maybe the revamp will be better but I would still not buy it and them seats in that white just look like they would be a nightmare to keep clean.

Any word on new Supercharger locations Derek? Great video thanks.
None that I've heard of yet
If you can wait it sounds a lot better cheers mate
Some will wait for sure
Love Teslas but I'm thinking of getting a Fisker Ocean because there are just too many Teslas around.
Review coming soon 😉
Is this soft update version what's on sale in Ireland now, on the standard range?
No soft update yet to my knowledge
bought mine now, here in germany they reduced the price by over 10% and offered 0% Financing for 5 years. The new version that might come in the next 6-12 months will probably cost around 55-60K EUR and have 7% interest on financing, probably costing over 10K EUR in all comparing to the offer now.
Serious value now
Old model resale value will drop 10 k
im going to wait 😍 the new one will be much better
I thought there would be more like you across my social posts but it's not as clear cut as some prefer the value of a discounted current model
I picked up the Model Y Performance with $10,000 off. Saving me $28,000 over the price my cousin paid only one year ago.
I will wait the model Y Juniper performance version.
Good choice
Do the old features such as rattling & misaligned gaps come with the refresh?
Meow 🤣🤣
That's an "extra cost" option...
Nice deals. Good to hear from an owner
I'm considering a second hand.
Sounds like a few are thinking the same
Hello mate any Tesla has been a good Tesla
Not everyone would agree
@@NevoEVReviewIreland true
The slight chance interest rates come down here, I’ll wait.
It's definitely a waiting game
Now, in my country MYSR is 42.000 eur
The new modell shall 100% be 48.000 eur.
So, I'll buy one in the next months
Nice! Thanks for the comment
When do you think LR RWD is coming?
Anyone knows when Ireland is getting LR RWD like rest of the Europe already has?
No idea
Going with this Y because of the stalks.
A few have said the same
Are the prices you mentioned inclusive of grants
Yes, sorry I should have clarified
Any chance we get a 6 seat model?
Not looking like it yet here but would be a game changer
Wait even another year or two, even Juniper will become old. Probably as soon as 2025 new revised battery systems are coming.
My current car has a volume rocker on the steering wheel. The amount of cognitive load to adjust the volume (thinking of wheel position and which direction the thing needs to move) while moving the wheel is a lot. How they thought this was ok for something as fundamental as indicator stalks is beyond me.
Sales numbers will tell a tale
@@NevoEVReviewIreland Tesla could put a spike on the steering wheel and someone would still buy it.
Spike steering wheel?! Count me in! ; ) @@robadobdob
Filmed in Mercer Vale? I live there
Have you driven the original M3? Highland is a much better car and no reason to think they will not do th same shanger to junioer makes it worth the wait. It should be out mid 2024, not that faw into the future
I have a number of times, I've just not driven the Highland yet
The front of this is incredibly ugly so I'd wait. Also, hopefully they slightly lower the roof line to make it less bulbous in profile.
I haven't seen any indication the of the Juniper being in production anywhere yet.
Coming soon with leaked images out of China
I would wait personally as the kids would appreciate that rear screen for watching Netflix and so on. 👍
Seriously? No phone or iPad. I was hoping they just put physical controls for the heated seats. Sure now you can control the "fan", but still no third climate zone.
Thanks both for the comments.
Unfortunately so many people are snowflakes and victums theses day🙃
Ha! I'm looking forward to driving it
I believe 800V and 48v architecture is wishful thinking for Juniper. Too big changes for a facelift. New cars from the scratch could have them if financially viable. Longer range LFP battery would be a killer feature
must wait, wait, wait ...for the new update one 'Juniper' end of 2024😇
Tick tok
2:53 reason of why i will waiting juniper
Agree
Why no comments about MY LR RWD?
🤷🏻♂️
I test drove the latest model S Plaid and the indicator buttons with a total PITA.
There is supposed to be a company introducing an after market product, I agree, total fail
Let see how many new Tesla Model 3 they sell without the stalks
How would you even know what's in it?
All speculation
I am not in a hurry -so i wait - IN DK the Tesla sales person told me that he have more end more persons who stop or cancel the Y order, when they better like the new design on highland, but they woulld have a Y. I think this stop costing Tesla big missing sales numbers, see all the new E cars showing up now. See the new VW style models filed up with a lot of packedes, new Peugoet E 33008, new Reneault
Lots of options coming which is great
It’s exactly gonna be like the highland. The only good thing will be the new shock absorber. Anything else is useless for me.
It's definitely on the firmer side
"Ever since the Tesla Cybertruck was spotted charging, people suspected that Tesla's 4680 cells were as bad as they were on the Model Y. The first documented Cybertruck charging curve confirms this, showing that the Tesla Cybertruck spends a lot of time charging."
Intertesting!

Thank you for such a thoughtful response. I really appreciate you taking the time
Higher ground clearance please. With only 17cm it's certainly NOT an SUV
Not sure that's going to happen
@@NevoEVReviewIreland If only Tesla presented a normal SUV with off road capabilities..
Just placed my order for rwd Model Y 42k 0 interest HP no brainier
Worth nothing the grey cloth in the highland is only on the standard range, the long range has black suede. TBH, the grey is going to get dirty. The roof liner still being grey is a joke for the same reason. Centre rear seat heater removed also.
Noted! Thanks for the comment
In the US you buy the year you get tax credit
A big deciding factor it seems
If you’re ne of those humans who can use their hands, buy now. If not, wait for all tactile functions to be removed.
😂
I would not buy any first year model, even Toyota. If Juniper comes out this year, the earliest to buy would be end of 2025. So if you want Model Y, lease one now and after 3 years, switch to Juniper
Some people would be of the same mindset. Early adoption for new models has its pros and cons
buy, JUNIPER will NOT come until end of this year
There's the answer
Cheap interiors, hard seats, no beige color, no demo software intro version, downward revision of range, and odd climate control.
Thanks for the comment
WAIT
Seems those who are commenting are saying the same thing
No stalks no thank you. Ridiculous and not practical. The steering wheel isn't always in the upright position when needing to indicate hence the need for independant stalks. Its dangerous this new way.
Have a look at the Model 3 without stalks. ruclips.net/video/_1UE7FoQ4bQ/видео.htmlsi=nzkBgcsjX0rQOtwk
@@NevoEVReviewIreland i have. Ridiculous!
I love electric cars but this is just giving electric cars a bad name. Its basically an applience on wheels. At least the model S had style and a proper dash this thing has neither. Maybe the revamp will be better but I would still not buy it and them seats in that white just look like they would be a nightmare to keep clean.
It’s a computer on wheels. The white seats as extremely easy to keep clean, even with kids. Would buy another one with a white interior in a heartbeat.
Thanks for the comments both. I hear that a lot from Tesla owners re how easy the white seats are to keep
Such a frumpy looking car. Its not in anyway a good looking car and no dash or indicator stalks so no thanks.
Thanks for the comment. Some agree and some disagree. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
The current Y is ugly. The new one is an improvement
I agree, I prefer the new styling
