  • Get your bodyweight moving towards your target on your serve. Many players fall to their left (usually because of their toss) which can lead to inaccuracy, and even worse, poor consistency.

Another advantage of being a serve and volleyer, when done correctly, is that your body weight is moving forward exactly as you are teaching… Good stuff!

Good results don't necessarily mean a good process....so true. Wise words to keep in mind.

that's a great cue for ending the movement. but what about a cue on how to start the move to aim the serve to a certain spot?

Ummmm, wow! I feel how valuable this correction could be with my serve and direction. Would you suggest a similar approach for a right handed server hitting to the deuce side? I'm worried about trying this and opening up my hips too early.

Great drill. I'm taking this to court tomorrow with my son. He has the opposite tendency as your player here though. He falls forward toward the side fence and I think it hinders his ability to fully pronate at contact. I assume this will help that as well.

Same concept...it's a very slight difference, compared to completely falling off the ball like he was earlier

Would this be the same on the deuce side. Would your momentum and body weight go to the left?
