The bust of Queen Victoria reminded me of the book and movie "The Mudlark" -- so, like the young mudlark in the movie, you have met up with the queen herself!!!
The bronze bust of Victoria is my favorite...just so random, rare and I'm so glad it is yours! Well deserved, Simon! Thank you for all the wonderful video's and sharing your amazing experiences....I enjoyed my mudlarking experience this past September...14 wonderful days in London and several visits to the foreshore...meeting Nicola, Tobias and Marie and Jason at Waterman's Hall was just so so special. A dream come true. Blessings in 2023 and excited for more of your discoveries....WHO KNOWS WHAT'S IN STORE!
The lamp is amazingly restored. Only Si could do this as he's so experienced and takes such loving care with this amazing history. I love this whole video. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I can't believe how many I missed. May 2023 bring even more spectacular finds. I love you, Si. Keep your keen eyes zeroing in.
My face hurts from smiling so much! What an amazing year you had! ❤ Predictions for 2023 - you’re going to find a gold coin really soon. In the summer, you will find an onion bottle (not sure where, but I have a feeling you’ll be a long way from home) and after the harvest… a hoard awaits you!
Boar War cap badge and bicycle lamp my personal favourites Si. I’m physically unable to detect or lark so thanks for providing me with a Sunday fix this year. All the best for 2023.
Thanks for the video, the cap badge you found from the Rifle Brigade, In 1958, it transferred from the Light Infantry Brigade to the Green Jackets Brigade becoming 3RGJ in 1966 along with 2RGJ The King’s Royal Rifle Corps ( the regiment I served in back in the 70`s) and 1RGJ The Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, It continued in British Army service until 2007, when it was amalgamated with three other units to form The Rifles.
Your finds are always just as thrilling for me as they are for you. I am a born scavenger, so I’d love to go mudlarking with you and your crew someday!
Good thing you discovered the cannonball on a hovercraft trip, not when you were out on Rob's tiny boat. I'm looking forward to all the great finds of 2023. Thanks for all the great content, Si. Happy New Year.
Thank you Si for bringing us with you through out the last year and more in 2023! Wishing you lots more finds, nothing but funny accidents and fun in the muck!!🎉🎉🎉
Nice collection of finds in 2022! Congratulations! Just got back to your videos recently, have been hospitalized for three months. I fell and injured my right leg, and while in the hospital, caught Covid 19. No internet in the places in attendance. Glad to be back following again, Si. Best of luck in 2023, and see you on the next. Cheers mate! 🇬🇧🙂👍🇺🇸
Thank you for this absolutely lovely video, Simon! It is extremely well-produced and edited and the finds are wonderful, too! Happy New Year, mate, and here's to a year of good health, happiness, and many mudventures in 2023.
Excellent video as always. The cap badge is probably Rifle Brigade from WW1, the reference on the badge to South Africa is because the Regiment gained battle honours during the 2nd Boar War.
Thank you for all of your fabulous videos that you put out last year! I loved them all, whether it was the mudlarking, the metal detecting, the group dump site excavations or the Hovercraft History Hunters. I have to say, I loved the bust of Queen Victoria! Imagine seeing her in real life! She looked like a formidable woman, quite unlike Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth the second who looked sweet and grandmother my to me. I just love watching you, Simon and I've enjoyed getting to take part in your adventures and getting to know all of your mudlarking, metal detecting, bottle digging, hover crafting friends. Here's to a fantastic 2023 with many, many excellent finds!
love your videos! you can tell it's Constantine because he was the first Christian emperor; there are angels on the back of his coins. also his son, Constantious.
I loved that run down of your Top Ten finds in 2022. I wonder what treasures Old Father Thames will serve up to you in 2023? Happy New Year and Happy Larking.
Happy, happy new year Si! Thanks for reliving the joy of those finds with us! 🥰 I watched all those episodes and it was great seeing how much I had enjoyed them..hahaha!! All the best for 2023 and of course, more epic finds! 🍻😉👌🏼 Edit: Awesome editing, by the way.. loved it!
Simon - been watching for a while now and just love it. Your humour and generosity of spirit is wonderful. Happy new year to you and hope for another splendid year of finds😊
Ahhh the gentle art of mudlarking! Loved to see the contenders for your top ten finds. I was tossing between the bust of Queen Victoria, the anchor and the tobacco tin for the number one spot. All fabulous finds. All those long hours spent in the rain, wind, gloopy mud and occasional sunshiny day and even night expeditions certainly are worth every minute. Well done team Si!
S I- you did such a lovely job cleaning and polishing this bike light! How beautiful! I love your channel and this video is the very best! Can’t wait to see what 2023 brings out of the muck!
Happy new year Simone, and thank you for sharing your mud adventures all year. Well done and I hope you have even better luck this year…. From Stockbridge Michigan USA

Simon you deserve your own TV programme.,no doubt whatsoever!!
The bust of Queen Victoria reminded me of the book and movie "The Mudlark" -- so, like the young mudlark in the movie, you have met up with the queen herself!!!
For find #1 -- looking at your "boat" made me think of the great quote from the movie Jaws: “You're gonna need a bigger boat” 🙂
You put so much thought and effort into the development of this video! Well done, sir. A pleasure to watch.
Thanks so much Doug 👍🏻🐾🧡
It’s amazing how the Roman coins are so well preserved.
