    You can tell Fisher doesn't actually watch tape of the players because he didn't address any of the reasons (other than injuries) Flowe stopped playing. Go watch him play against Arizona last season. The few times he was on the field is when Arizona busted out huge runs. Watch his positioning. Watch his lack of discipline. He was a massive liability.

    • @BrunoJaws
      @BrunoJaws Год назад +7

      They said the same thing about Terrel Davis Hall of fame running back who was 7th on the depth chart at UGA. He gets drafted in the 7th round by default and meets Mike Shannahan zone blocking scheme the rest is history. Some of these college coaches get jobs because of who they know instead of being qualified. He is playing the wrong system and not being coached right. Even Sewell looks out of position because they are asking him to play coverage first instead of letting him use his instincts. It happens all the time. Its why so many late round draft picks find success in the NFL. Real coaches dont have systems they play to there personel. If Demeco Ryans was coaching Flowe i guarantee you barring injuries he would look elite. He turned Fred Warner a 3 star DB from BYU in to the best LB in football in 3 years.

      Fred Warner played LB in HS and college. I know this because I went to USC and he was recruited by us. He was a third round pick as a LB out of BYU, not a DB.. That was all before he ever met Ryans. Quit making up shit and feeding people misinformation. You're a complete clown. And what the fck does drafted in the 7th round by default mean? Flowe was consistently caught out of position. He bit on the run and was very often caught off guard on a wheel route. He had 1 really great game against Fresno State a couple of years ago. Injuries really hindered his development. In 2022 he played in the most games of his career at Oregon. For the kid’s sake, I hope his transfer to Arizona works out for him. He might test the “once a Duck, always a Duck” adage.

    Not sure he can be labeled a "bust" quite yet because he does have three years of eligibility left, but to date he hasn't been an impact player in college. To be fair he got a season ending injury in game 1 of his freshman year & then the bad luck continued when he got another season ending injury in game 1 of his second year. Bad lock, or imo, Cristobal & Coach Feld(Cristobal's S&C coach) put too much mass on him & too quickly.
    The kid went from 215-200ish to 245ish in just a few months. He was ripped, but I don't think his frame should have been carrying that kind of mass. They should have gotten him up to around 230ish. I also think the extra mass made him a little more stiff & less fluid. I think having that much weight made him more susceptible to injury.
    The new staff had him shed weight, but at that point the damage was done. He lost a step to the two season ending injuries(one to knee, one to ankle) & he wasted those two years of development & pratices. But I think his biggest issue is between the ears.
    Apparently work ethic was not an issue & was a grinder, but you can tell he had no clue what he was doing on the field in an actual defensive scheme. He was no longer bigger, stronger & more athletic than everyone so he couldn't just fly around & make plays on instinct like he did in HS.
    He was a huge liability in coverage. If you watch film from this past season you will see opposing offenses specifically went after him in the passing game & he was almost always exploited. He would botch his assignments often. Whether it was in coverage, or playing the wrong gap, or when he was supposed to stay in zone he'd take it upon himself to try & make the big play & rush the QB leaving a ton of open space, etc, etc...
    Like I said, it looked like he had no clue what he was doing. I think he can still be a solid player if he can stay in the same defense for the rest of his collegiate career & he actually learns the playbook. But it's questionable if he can do so. I could see him just playing his backyard/high school style ball & never quite get it. He has a ways to go, but I'd maybe wait to label him a "bust" until after his collegiate career.

    Haven't watched any of him at all so this is just a shot in the dark, but took notice once he committed to Arizona. I think he rose to prominence throughout the high school ranks because of his aggressiveness and highlight worthy plays. But hope he doesn't stick to that formula needlessly, not every play has to be a highlight, but you can play with the aggressiveness but not at the expense of the team.

      The recruiting ranking systems are so subjective. It depends when and where guys develop. The earlier they do the higher they are rated but only if the come from certain regions of the country. The recruiting agencies often neglect certain regions because their recruiting "geniuses" are always in the South and that's why they favor those kids. 3 Star kids from other parts of the country can turn into All Americans and 1st round picks with the right coaching and development.

There is a reason he was squatting 600 lbs at 17 year olds at 6.2 height. When he got to Oregon he was 233 lbs and last year he was around 215 from him getting off the juice due to injuries. The other huge issue is Oregon only plays 2 lbs in their system. So he and Sewell were asked to cover the whole field instead of quarters or 1/3 the field.

    I really liked Justin at Oregon. His injuries have really taken a toll on him. The game has shifted from the mauling tank MLBs. Especially ones with mobility issues. The game kind of passed him by. Hopefully he gets his body right and can regain his potential.

    His problem was he went to a top football school and not one who would really use and develop him. He would have been better off going to a no name football school. These top football schools is where 4-5 star players sit and rot on the bench as a backup player.

    The truth is he's way too small and he hasn't physically matured much since high school. Saw him play at Oregon and he's maybe 6ft tall 220lb. You can be a straight up bully on the high school field at that size but in college you won't have the length to shed blocks. He looked like a DB standing on the sideline.

      @@mylespoun9709 that could be i think a lot of that is do yo how they used him. Its just hard to imagine that you cant find a better way to utilize an athlete like that. I wasnt all that impressed at how they used the linebackers in general last year, and coverage was horrible all around. I guess they just needed different type of athlete for what they are doing.

    Flowe decided on Oregon. Clemson went with Trenton Simpson.

    All good - someone'll pick him up on the NFL.

    Highschool coaches make the mistake all the time of letting freshman play varsity especially linebackers and running backs. They take too much punishment early on which leads to injuries in college. Ive seen coaches put 4 star running backs on play counts once they get there scholarship offers. One more fact is some guys are built for certain schemes. Justin is built to attack the line of scrimmage which is were he should be doing most of.

    • @alexchavez3383
      @alexchavez3383 Год назад

      OCs know what they're doing and sometimes scheme an LB out of whatever one thing you want him to focus on.
      And the flip side of your freshman on varsity concern, the video acknowledges the safety issue of, basically, a young man crushing 14 year old kids at the freshman level.
      Plenty of studs do what you worry about and DON'T have injury issues beyond the norm.
