This piece was my favorite in the spring of 1968. I graduated from high school that year, and have loved this till now, when I'm an ancient old lady!!!
First heard this on radio Jan. 1968, at Fort Hood, waiting to go home from Army. Brings back memories - great song.

First heard this song 🎧 through one of my dads cassettes. He would record songs from the radio. I heard if for the first time somewhere around 1990-1992. He recorded it somewhere in the 80’s. Beautiful song.

@@harryliebsson4626 Поль Мориа к советским заставкам никакого отношения не имеет. Заставку создаёт художник, а музыкальный редактор подбирает лишь определённые мелодии для музыкального сопровождения. Кстати, самое большое количество заставок с мелодиями оркестра Поля Мориа было на телевидении Японии и Бразилии. А так же практически все рекламные ролики шли под аккомпантмент этого великого оркестра. Но в этих странах был заключен долгосрочный контракт ,поэтому( аернее: и поэтому тоже) проходила дополнительная реклама оркестра, музыки Великого Маэстро. В ссср вряд ли это было так,потому что Мориа ,приехав на гастроли в Москву в январе 1978 года , был очень удивлён тому факту, что он и его оркестр ,а так же исролняемая им музыка весьма популярны и известны в стране. Когда его в более поздних интервью спросили, платили ли ему авторские за использование его музыки в заставках и печати нелицензионных сборников его произведений,он рассмеялся...

Debo confesar que cuando era pequeño , mi mamà cuando oìa esta melodia siempre lloraba, y yo le preguntaba porque? bueno no me decia......Ahora que ella falleciò hace algunos años...esta canciòn al oirla yo, pues no puedo evitar ponerme tan nostalgico y llorar en silencio.....Bueno al fìn pude entender el porque del llanto de mi mamà en silencio...

The music of my late teenage years...I see old friends and the Vietnam soldiers and remember how hard it was to feel happy when so many of my age were over there. This orchestra was so good....my husband was a classical violinist and played these numbers many times....my grandson and I put a cup of his ashes on Johnny Mercer's grave here.

C'est magnifique! El Bimbo was the Master Tune of Radio Monte Carlo back in 1974. As students, we often listened to it on our transistor radios during night hours.
