This is one of my favorite Nas joints for several reasons. I'm a Girl Dad. I have a daughter and it makes you think. Before my daughter was born, I was wild as hell with different women. Once my daughter was born I was slowing down but, as she was growing up, she was speeding up. So, I had to put her up on game so, she wouldn't get played. Then it felt like I was training her to avoid boys that resembled myself at a young point. Then, she flipped it on me and told me she was not into boys and that she was a lesbian. Part of me was actually relieved because I didn't have to worry about pregnancy and all those types of issues but, on the other end I still had to worry about her heart being broken but he first crush, her avoiding falling for game by a slick girl that wanted to get at her before she was old enough to make smart choices. Add to the fact, new worries come into play like hate towards her because of her orientation. Boys and girls wanting to fight her because she was open, call her names,and bullying. Now, she is a well developed 31 year old woman. She is married and she is a mother herself. Her wife is a good woman and treats her well and at the end, that's all I can ask for as a father. Plus, it's simply a great track by Nas.

Socially and culturally relevant and sadly to many it's relatable and generationally a vicious cycle. Although I'm not a huge hip-hop/rap fan, its voice can't be ignored because it speaks for and to disadvantaged and discounted populations.
