the idea of having a spy quokka is hilarious because they're super friendly and aren't bothered by human observance.
Ya but they are still not as comfortable as they would be if they were on the own just like a stray dog , ya u might not be bothered but your sure as hell not gonna lie down next to it

it didn't, a person righted it, they forgot to mention that these animals live exclusively on one island and have never encountered predators so are very friendly to humans ( they mingle amongst the tourists ) the whole "spy quokka" is a fake set up and gimmick, American documentaries tend to be made for children, the British make the grown up's documentaries

Imagine you, a pregnant quokka, enjoying a nice lunch, feeding the baby and whatnot, and this stranger comes ambling up and peers intently at your belly/baby. It's more likely than you think

SirHorned19 it basically was. Quokka joeys are underdeveloped when born and that’s why they stay in the pouch.
What sweet little feisty pumpkins they r. Made my day 4 SURE. Can't get over their adorable little faces.😅
It must be so confusing to the poor little bigger, having what looks like another Quokka, but doesn't have the scent of one (smell being pretty important to their understanding of the world around them).
Impressive robotics, though. Good enough to hit the Uncanny Valley & that's harder to do with animals than with humans (we're hardwired in the brain to know what a human should look like. Animals have all sorts of weird shapes & sizes).
I spent my childhood going to Rottnest (home to almost all the Quokkas on Earth) & got to see how fascinating these little critters are. They're very curious, incredibly sociable & friendly to humans (& it's not just 'cause some idiot tourists feed them. Don't do this, the wrong foods can make them pretty sick.)
If you sit quietly near them & they're in the right mood, they'll come right up to you & even let you touch them - though don't overdue it, they do have a nasty bite with those rodent-like incisors.

OK, I'm seriously jealous of Australia. They have more weird, wonderful, cute, scary, adorable animals than anywhere. Madagascar is 2nd. It's amazing !!

These animals only really live on a small island called Rottnest. They are pretty tame and you can feed them by hand
