The figure you got is so cute. I want it, too! Figures used to be all standing up, but these days sitting figures are becoming more popular judging from this upload!
Hello again. I'm trying to hold myself back from jumping through the screen to snag a figure or 8... In reference to the "World ends With You" fig, the rough translation of Kotobukiya into English is "add $150 to the price"! But the prices in the first shop did seem high. But I will admit to falling for the Nazuna. The combo of the pose and her smirk spoke to me! And hey, 300 yen is 300 yen if it's what you want! And finally, I honestly want to thank you for braving the heat for the video! Loved your trip, and can't wait for the next!
I've got that Nazuna you were looking at. She does come with that setpiece to pose on and quality wise she's much closer to a popup parade than a typical prize figure. Really happy with her and she doesn't look out of place displayed next to my scales honestly.
That Neku figure! He looked gorgeous!!! I have Neku and Joshua but.....that Neku is niiiiiiiice! I do like the older figures that you showed....I cannot get any older figures in the UK sadly! Oh the Yuri on Ice Yurio Q Posket! I have him!!!!
Neat finds! I might look for a Haruko figure from FLCL on my next trip; I'd got a Lord Canti already to it'd make sense to have a matching Haruko. Also definitely going to be on the lookout for any and all Godzilla stuff lol
a new collector from the philippines here !! it’s so hard to find figures that i want since most of them are quite overpriced here 🥲🥲 will definitely go figure hunting in JP one day, thank u for this video 🫶‼️ (new sub hihi)
Really cool video! It's fascinating to see such a huge variety. It seems all we get here are Funko pop or similar and I hate that style so much. What's the one figure you'd love to have but haven't been able to pick up yet? Thanks for sharing!
Just looking at the plethora of Oshino Shinobu figures available in these stores makes me envious considering that they are really hard to come by here in the EU.
Do you have any recommendations on where is the best shop to find the cheapest deals on figures in japan? Is it really true that it's cheaper in the outer parts on tokyo?
I would spend far too much time and money in a place like this :O :O You have such good restraint haha I spotted a Naomi Watanabe QPosket amongst the Re;Zero and honestly love that there's a figure of a plus size icon like her! I'm so torn about Pop Up Parade figures atm, the quality seems to be going down and they stopped the cute colourful hexagon bases now and just have black discs like prize figures :|
Yea, I have a Korone Inugami Pop Up Parade that I love, like they do a good job with characters that don't have easy accessible figures, but I've noticed all that too!
I love that they include video game characters among those figures. I assume because those specific figures have that anime art style? That being said, have you ever come across any Mega Man X (or, Rockman X as it’s called in Japan) figures?
That would explain why they don't appear often. I actually have one of my favorite character; Zero. Though I don't have him on display anymore because posable figures are annoying to keep clean without them falling over.
Hi! I'm planning to go to Japan next year. I would like to find some figures of Persona, Digimon that are made from Megahouse, Kotobukiya and I think Tamashii Nations. Do you think it will be hard to find those?
I feel like a gross little deviant when I reflect upon the little figurines I bought MYSELF last time I was in Japan. I wince, comparing them to the wholesome and sweet childlike items you so enthusiastically showcased in this video. I went into the basement of a grot shop in Akihabara and bought a 'used' pair of girls underpants which were stuffed into a plastic pod (Greta Thunberg rightfully said 'how dare you! as I twisted the chunky dial on the machine to release the pervy little plastic Kinder Surprise). She would have doubled down on the admonishments when she caught a glimpse of the front of the vending machine: a gonzo photograph of a demure schoolgirl flashing her gusset (which was an actual printed photograph sticky-taped onto the front of the gacha-machine, garlanded by much manic looking kanji and a great many exclamation marks scribbled in thick red and black marker pens. I had no idea there was that much further information to impart, but there you go). To get to this machine downstairs you have to walk past a phalanx of silicone dongs the size of bollards and a wall of DVDs involving barbed wire AND electrocution. Re-entering the ground floor feels cleansing as it's mostly populated by cheerful, casual groups of couples, office workers of all genders and young men in restrained but obvious high spirits-- it felt more like I was in Tower Records for late night shopping. Minty fresh John Boy Walton, yo! One girl was holding a bakery box of cheesecake tied with a delightfully old fashioned string handle with one hand whilst rifling through the row of fluffy red handcuffs with the other. Was a s£x shop visit a spontaneous pitstop on the way home, or had she been looking forward to it all day as she sat at her office cubicle typing away, part of her double bill extravaganza of 'bakery and grot'? Wow! My next gachapon adventure was in Nakano Broadway. It's on the third floor tucked in the back of an unappealing little cul-de-sac, darkened unused retail space on both sides of this small, poorly lit dead-end invites nobody to explore further. Except me, of course. Tucked into the corner are two gachapon machines with the MOST BEAUTIFULLY DETAILED little bondage dioramas you've ever seen. They're like hobbyists models which involved the necessity of glue for full assembly. A Kinder Surprise which involves teeny tiny dildos needing to be glued onto a thigh mount worn by a teeny tiny busty lady in the apparent throes of ecstasy (entertaining her evening incubus visit? What exactly is the source of her great solitary pleasure?! The little accoutrement appears to be rather nugatory, forgive me). Further along was the snug little Tamatoys store, selling pheromone sprays with delightfully inspired names like 'The Good Smell of Girls Indoor Slippers', 'The Smell of the Armpits of the Female Athletes from the Track and Field Team', 'The Smell of Schoolgirl's Farts'. I also bought a horrifyingly realistic sculpture of a turd which came with a completely serious and alarmingly detailed guide to the wonderful world of human faecal waste material. It was more than a gatefold sleeve-- it was a veritable concertina of a booklet which illustrated (and richly described) a common variety of turds and what their appearance indicates about one's digestive health. They do things differently in Japan. Even sculpting a piece of poo is serious business. I'm fairly certain you'll delete this comment and I don't blame you. 🙈🙉🙊😇👍

Wow didn't even think of looking for figures at Book Off. I assumed it would be all books.
Great prices. The figure you chose is very cute.
Some Book Offs only have books, that's how the one in Akihabara Tokyo was! Sometimes the bigger ones have figures since there's enough space!
Ugh I'm so excited for my trip to Japan in September! I'm glad you showed all the prices, so I know what to expect.
Have fun!

@@GingerGaiden Definitely! I have a One Piece set I've been trying to complete!

Ah OK! I'll keep this is mind!
Yooo I need to buy those Higurashi figures! I hope there will still be stocks when I come in May

I totally gotta pick up Ryza in her original outfit! Thanks for Watching Matt!

this kind of vlog is my favorite, hope you'll make another video in another store, cheap figure is the best option for my wallet 😂
Will make more like this!
Just wonder the figures are first hand ? Not second hand?
IF I WAS THERE I WOULD BE LOOKING FOR HOURSS

I have seen a few! A bit more rare I think!

nice catch, if money was no problem then the walls would be full of all the awesome figurs!
Luckily they can get pretty cheap here or I'd be homeless
Did you find any idolish7 figures?!
I think there were a couple!!!

I think it'll be pretty easy! There's Kotobukiya and Tamashi Nations stores in Akihabara plus tons of second hand shop filled with them
New subscriber here. Those sitting figures are interesting.
Thanks for the sub!
@@GingerGaiden you're welcome. I do unboxing vids too but too shy to show myself. 😅

Honest question, why is Emilia worst girl? I don’t find her to be interesting, but is there something else?
