- Jingbam Tynrai U Khasi meaning Indigenous ( Authentic) Food of Khasi is a film produced by team CHIME .
The film through the eyes of the children explore the Indigenous food of Khasi community available and distributed locally vis a vis the food culture induced by globalisation.

Now that is a lovely clip about khasi food which i have not seen in ages. I used to enjoy eating them all when i was a wee young lad in Upper shillong way back in the late 70s and 80s. It would awesome to see more about the indigenous foods of Meghalaya. Kris all the way from Brasil. Peace!!

I was born and brought up in Umsning, Ri-Bhoi, Meghalaya. I have grown up eating those Khasi delicacies,I miss them, since the 1990s as I have been abroad. Nga kwah bam ia ki ne baroh .

จันทอง มาดี even me being a Khasi.. Iv always been curious about our origin/ancestry... Cause we all northeastern Indians from a very long time back may have migrated from East Asia or South East...

According to the history of khasi we came from heaven through u lum sohpet bneng or navel of heaven. First of all we have 19 hut or 19 trep or 19 skum and then after the devil poison the 7 trep or 7 skum to cut down the that tree that became the bridge to heaven in the U lum sohpet bneng or navel of heaven and after the 7 trep or 7 skum stay in the earth whereas the 9 trep or 9 skum stay in heaven with God
Please do an elaborate research on this. May be khmer thousands of years ago migrated from khasi and jaintia hills to their present land leaving few remnants in these hills which they call now the Khasi and synteng or jaintia.
