Discovered the Bolex B8L camera and purchased on ebay. Discovered it is a high quality, beautiful build film camera no bigger in size than a modern DSLR. Didn't know these things existed and fascinated by the antiquated technology. I will be trying some 8mm movie film through this camera which can be purchased through specialty film suppliers.

Thx 4 posting this period film .. Mid-century "hi-tech", huh?! Wonderful .. & superb Goodman/Shaw clarinet jazz soundtrack😊 .. sold my B8 with its visi-focus Switar lenses but kept a nice 1962 H8RX. 99% sure it was Pop's who lent it to Uncle & neglected to retrieve it (not wanting to "make waves" as he'd put it). Returned 2 me after being lent early-mid 60s, tho' I don't remember this camera. Had it😂 CLA'd & a weird Som Berthiot prime replaced with the full Switar RX set. Found a Som Berthiot Pan Cinor 40RX zoom which'll probably see more use than primes. Recently viewed "Beyond the Bolex" biopic made by Jacques Bolsey's grt grand daughter.

I didn't know the days of wine and roses was extant in 1950. Always thought that it was composed in early 60's. Is that Paul desmond on sax?

What model Bolex is that? Looks like a late fifties to early sixties model B8L or later.

The Bolex was a beautiful piece of workmanship. Many thanks. BTW, I never saw her use an exposure meter to judge correct exposure.

I’m little more interested in their 16mm gear, But their 8mm gear don’t look bad to collect either! I just hope their super-8 gear isn’t prone to motors dying like many other battery op cameras.

Oh, yes, it can and could, although after WW2 lenses had a special anti-reflection coating.
