Also, rear wheel backspacing is important for 77-79 Lincoln Mark V's due to their 4 wheel disc brakes. Rear wheel clearance is limited due to the rear calipers.
Wheels with more than 4" backspacing may hit the calipers and not fit correctly. Развлечения
9 years later and I'm now the current owner of this exact Lincoln. It's still in amazing condition only needing some small paint work on the hood. Just because someone is willing to have fun with there classic doesn't mean its going to be destroyed. They took care of her up until the point when I bought her abouta month ago and It definitely shows throughout the vehicle. I'm looking forward to continuing her legacy.
good shit bro
Very cool. I'm curious to know about the mods on that engine. I own one with the 460 but it doesn't run like that... lol.. Cheerz
Does it have a 460 or a 400?
@@cesargt5848 460
Wow i just rememered this old video. And came to warch again. Was wondering what about this car now. I fell inlove with this one when i first saw this. Amazing! So nice to know the car is still in good hands.
"ruin"? A lot of these cars just sit in yards or garages, unused and unloved. He freshened the thing up, mildly modified the engine, threw different wheels and new paint on it, and had fun. What's wrong with that? I hate car nazis.
there went a couple gallons lol
Justin Perry I was in my twenties I had one of these with the 460 and I can only afford to drive it on the weekends.
6 to 7 mpg
I always grew up a big muscle car man but I have a 79 mk v and I wouldn't trade it for nothing. Underrated car, smooth ride, cheap to buy, mine has a supercharged shhh motor in it that purist hate lol. Been with me thru so much, great car
love this car, you totally saved something that would have been left to rot in a junk yard. looks great sounds great, nice car
Those wide wheels n tires really improve the general aesthetics
I totally agree. So cool looking. I want one now with a nice set of cragars on it.
The original owner would have a stroke.
I will/would never do that to my Lincoln
The original owner had a stroke long before these burnouts
yes sir - lmao
I'm setting my 78 for street/drag
@@i_read_bad_reviews Lol!!!!
I love 70s American cars. This is superb
it was the blessed period for american cars ! no one in the world had so big cars and the gas was so cheap ! ;) from france i like so much these big american cars !
Awesome never knew a Lincoln could burn out like this.
I got a 77 tbird with the 400M. I cant wait to give it some balls. This car is sweet, it really shows that these cars can look sharp with a little tlc.
Awesome cruiser man. Great colors too. Getting rare to find em in good shape now.
I LOVE THE SOUND OF THAT ENGINE!!!!! GOOD OLD SCHOOL V8!!!!!!
Shame doing that with a classic, this car deserve better
every classic with a V8 deserve a burnout ;).... even a lincoln
@@eliasnuno4039 Ya, but you could at least put a posi in it tho.
@@chado3000 ... wouldn't burn out with posi
better than leave it rusting in a yard
I love this Hot Rod Lincoln Mk V. Really cool what you did to it!
....It reminds me of that Cult movie....The CAR...All about a demon Car that came from the Pits of hell and Wreak Havoc on a Small town...
Great job! Manufacturers were downsizing cars then. People are steering away from classic American cars these days.. You found a car that defied the trends then and are defying trends now. God bless you and God bless America!
Awe c-mon Deb, burnouts are cool. Never gets old.
We have a '79 Lincoln Mark V "Collector Series" in "Midnight Blue." Doesn't haul ass like yours, so it was nice to see this vid. I "shared" it to Facebook so that my wife can see it when she gets home from work. Right on, Bro. You did a good job & it's a great looking car !!
I especially hate those types of comments on video's where people obviously built their own car. I mean if they break their car, no big deal they'll fix it!
Now that's what I call a designer series Cartier made the interior you make the horsepower.
That car is 1 legged, clean.
hes smart he knows it has a v8 so he uses it properly
even though it's a peg leg..... still gotta love the sound. 460? sounds GREAT. wow.
no no no, show respect for this car¡¡
What sort of mods did you do to this beautiful ride ? I had a '76 MKIV with a 460 that put out about 29 HP, a pooch from the git-go. 2 MPG and a top speed of 115. Perfectly tuned with all FoMoCo parts. I was really disappointed with the performance with my car Cold A/C, and all of the power stuff worked perfectly. It was just a power pig. Mine would not do a burn out if it were on jack stands.
awsome car, my favorit Lincoln! Love the Mark V!
That's how I drive my Lincoln!Lay some rubber and still run 90mph in 2nd gear!Cool ride
This is exactly how I had my 75 and 74, minus all that incredible power that thing is putting out. Did all Marks come with out Posi?
Plenty of balls, looks and sounds great. How much more would have a locker set ya back? One wheel wonder!
Nice. Whats the size on your rear rims and tyres, and what about the offset?
do you believe that a rebuilt and bored out 351w would work for a car this heavy?
I just want to tell you how much I enjoy this question.
This is what a true Hot Rod Lincoln looks like...
Whats the offset on those rims? Just bought a Mark V, love your style and would love to pick your brain a bit on how you did this one.
Love your car! I was wondering what headers you used? If you could let me know that would be great.
WHAT SIZE WHEEL AND TIRE COBO YOU GOT ON THAT ?
The hood isn't the original correct? Can't tell if it's just the perspective
What headers? I cant find any for my 77 with the 460
sweet ride!
Love this! I have a 75 marquis and want to do the engine over
You forgot about the clutch plates, Ford 9 inch supposed to do two stripes.
What size rims and tires are those. I want for mine
These cars have an open diff?
Anyone have any info on the hood??
All these people with a negative comments. A Ford 9-inch with the combination of a C6 transmission is virtually indestructible if he's going to break it by doing a few burnouts something's wrong
I have a 79 Linlincoln with. A holley 4 barrel carburetor but where did u find that hood
Did you do work to the Mark's motor? Those years were real low compression smog motors in stock tune.
What brand name 15 X 10 mags did you find that have the 5 0n 4 1/2" bolt pattern ?
RockotheCat13, The wheels are crager 441's.
Very nice build Lincoln. I read the article on Ford 460 forum. I was also trying to figure out how to put new headers on my 400 cid version. The block is different than 460 and haven't found any suitable headers for it. If someone knows brand and model I will really appreciate the info.
do you know what a set of tires cost?
Cool ride!
I need some headers like that, where did you get them? What brand?
This could have been a scene from a 1970s action movie.... Isaac Hayes driving or something :)
SON YER GONNA DRIVE ME TO DRINKING IF YOU DON'T STOP DRIVING THAT HOT - ROD - LINCOLN !!!
One tire fire. Considering the big engine, heavy car, and a single drive wheel it has to be easy to burn a tire.
Hahaha a single wheel open dif burnout!! put in a posi rear end and watch both tires burn. Great car, love your video. musta been fun haha
Love it!
I love the car, I owned a '79 Cartier series. Can u please redo the video, this time, someone that does not have the shakes ! This person that was shooting the video, does not have a steady hand and spoiled everything, thank you !
The one wheel peel!
Everytime that big8V roarring , video frames shakes
Nice ride.
That car is fucking beautiful
That Lincoln is a beautiful Dragon of fury. Hey thank you for inspiring me with my 76 in progress! Smokem if you got them baby, could you pls tell me where you got that hood?
Is it just me or did it do a burnout with only 1 of the wheels??
badass
@tomperanteau ....exactly.
Só a roda direita traseira é que tem tração.
Hp?
please get a posi
It has a posi from factory but his is worn out. Gotta put new clutch plates in...
Show some respect to that road.
Too bad the differential didn't lock out in these, huh?
I Had A Mark v 77 460 c I Ran Like New!!! Hurricane 🌀 Katrina To My Beautiful Car 😡 That Bitch !!! Keep It Up ! Great Car! Awsome Engine 😂
Fucking sick! Makes me miss my old Lincoln :(
Cool
Try doing that burnout with Traction Loc differential and see how far you can burn 2 tires...
nice i kind of like theme big old things
my 69 came with posi 460 c6....engine now in a 31 coupe with a 4 spd that i'm building...see frankenstude too videos here on utube
It pains me to see someone doing this to such a gorgeous and truly american legendary luxury coupe. And the Givenchy's are one of the more rarer editions. Mr. Givenchy is spinning in his grave right now...ugh.
You Need a True Trac
That thing is RAD.......
Súper cargador?
fantastic cars like this should be parked up and only see the light of day to be polished! god forbid anyone should enjoy the noise the smell or spirit of such an awesome car. what was the driver thinking ?
Wishing my 78 Tbird had a 460 lol I only have a 302 but at least its built so I can move out of its own way lol still not a 460 tho, Nice Ride :)
WHY????????
i want this car.
The big wheels look cool. But treating this classic like that is disappointing
Oh my fucking gawd
Starsky and Hutch have nothing on this Guy....🤣
only one tire makes the spin, because the car hasn`t lock slip differential
all that work done to that car, and no LSD hahaha
A shame to do that with a classic it's just a Thunderbird no big deal nice car though it has a big block doesn't have to rev that much to get things happening if it's not happening by 3200 rpm's park it and find out what's wrong with it
its all the bondo thats smoking
He is gonna have to buy one tire soon
In this guys defense,if it's his car and he pays for it, then he can do whatever he wants with it. Nice car,I still don't get why they didn't have posi with the c-6 tow package or trans at all on these monsters. Or did they? My 75 mark iv my 77 continental and 78 mark v with all 460s and c-6 had no posi trac. Oh well. can anyone fill me in on this?
Leave it in 1st and give it the frickin business!
One side pulling
What in the fuck do u have under the hood??? No matter, its one mean ass ride!!!
Watch out the bros don't Steal it.🦍
One wheel peel
