So couple of lore points + details for Matt, Woolie or anyone else interested:
- War's Gauntlet is actually a mechanical limb. Death cut War's arm off as punishment for him abandoning his duties as a horsemen to tear shit up on earth. He did stab death through the chest, but the dude near indestrucible.
- Chaoseaster is actually somewhat sentient and linked to War. Death used this link to bring war back to life in the novel, the Abomination Vault (which I highly recommend anyone who's a fan of this series read, it's awesome).
- All the races/beings of the Darksiders universe were made by THE CREATOR, who's basically god. However, he then proceeded to disappear, and the only group that actually worship him is Heaven. Heaven and Hell are actually some of the younger races in the universe, but they're the most dangerous ones, and their mess gets everywhere.
- Lucifer is in charge of Hell, but is on the out, as Vulgrim implies that Samael was set to take over from him.

@@Brandonious15987 I think the Land of Death fit into the category of the realms that didn't give a f**k about the war. These realm seem to exist in its own rule and system, there for they cannot fall or be calimed by any side.

So War tore up Earth before this game? Cuz he is already wearing the gauntlet in the beginning of this video.
Fun fact: That giant stone gauntlet War has is actually his arm because his normal one was cut off by Death.

@@vivamexico254 Yeah, I think War was really pissy about Death's leadership, so Death just sliced off his arm to prove a point. A little extreme, but at least he got that sick fucking arm though.
Nope war started the apocalypse prematurely, death cut his arm as punishment.

It was stated in the Intro that man was supposed to grow and evolve(in a sense whether through technology or biologically was unknown) to be on the same level as heaven and hell and then the Finally seal could be broken and every body have their big apocalypse and go from there.

And then Heaven had to ruin the fun by starting the apocalypse early so they can thrash Hell when they wouldn't be ready for the war. Unfortunately for Heaven, Hell is always ready for war. Stupid fucking angels.

I think the reason why Humans were going to be on the same level as the demon and angles was because their souls had a extreme potential for growth, if I remember correctly
@@grimmlyhollows1191 Well, they were described as cunning. So instead of brute strength and magic humans probably would have gone Imperium of Man and used legions of cannon fodder backed by building sized walkers, massive battle tanks, combat drones and powered armored infantry.

im really not a fan of playing as the chick with the whip,doesnt really appeal to me,though the next game is gonna feature strife...personally i think they should just release the coop game already featuring most of the horsemen.Making an entire game around the gunslinger seems like a huge waste.
If my memory of the lore serves the Horsemen are not demons they are the last of the Nephilim part demon part angel. They are neutral enforcers to the superpowers of Heaven and Hell they are summoned when one side breaks the rules and/or when the Council has ordained the Apocalypse and act as neutral overseers at that time. The Horsemen keep the war confined to Earth so it doesn't spill over into other realms.

Darksiders iis way above average. The game is amazing. Really good Zelda clone.

@@GBDupree Only cause they haven't reached any dungeons yet. The central focus of the game is completing four dungeons, laid out nearly exactly as Zelda dungeons are, with dungeon items that you use in both combat and puzzle solving, and bosses that require using their respective dungeon items to kill. Some time is spent getting to those dungeons, in which the game borrows from many genres (though mainly DMC as you said), but the core of the game is definitely Zelda.
I'm more of a Darksiders 2 guy myself.

You guys should do a Darksiders playthrough, never seen you guys do a playthrough on this game series.
If this were a full series, we'll have entire episodes of Matt being stuck in rooms with clear exits while spending the full episode whining about the fans who criticized his gameplay on Twitter and RUclips.

If you took DMC to its logical conclusion, this would be it. Now to just unlock Vergil, so you can really style on the Apocalypse.
man I still remember when they were replaced by early morning generic yugioh/pokemon rip off chaotic, bakugon, 3rd season of generic bayblade sequel, that show that was like bakugon but had cylinders instead of balls and on and on and on Christ.
Don't forget the one that was like Pokemon, but was food. My favorite monster was the one made of fried rice.
@@MrNickPresley That was Fighting Foodons. But the animes that I despised above all was Zatch Bell (the puppets being used like Pokemon or something) and Monkolee Knights (I'm sure I got the name spelled wrong). They were abysmal.

Darksiders is surprisingly solid. It offers nothing new but it's a solid Zelda style game with good artwork going on. Too bad 2 tried to do too much.

In Darksiders 2 you basically have stand powers. You open chests by summoning ghost arms and later in the game you get a counter move that summons a ghost version of you to attack the enemy if you dodge perfectly.
Can we just agree that Joe Mad's style is amazing? If anyone hasn't played Battlechasers: Nightwar yet and you love Joe Mad, you need to go play that game

@@InugamiTheHound Be prepared to be disappointed with Darksiders 2, where 95% of the cutscenes involve the camera switching back and forth between characters talking in their looped idle animations instead of proper cutscenes like the first game.

So on the billboard for the fake movie Eaten 2. It has some of the developer's names on it. One of them is Grey Ginther. The artist who designed the Chaos Eater and the Jailer in the game. He now works at Retro Studios and worked on Tropical Freeze.

The rpg aspects and rng loot really got on my bad side with the second game
The loot definitely brought the game down but I found the combat in 2 way better than 1 so I enjoyed 2 more than 1.
Idk i liked both games and I kind of understand why they played differently. Personally I liked Death's kit of stuff better than War's.

Yoooo, Darksiders. This franchise is actually super sick. It's not mindblowing or anything, but it's really fun regardless - I love the games a lot! Every frame of action looks like a heavy metal cover!

I really loved this game and their spin on the lore and myths that Diablo also used. I love how every faction holds their beliefs to the extreme. Angels are insanely against demons to a fault, Demons are evil to a fault, the Council is neutral to a fault.
I would love to see them play through the whole game.
I want Marlow Briggs coming in as a guest character, all like "These demons are nasty. I want nuttin' to do with 'em!"
