You can camp and refuel at the same time. Inexpensive traveling could lead to visiting more places. For a short stay, I plan to camp in a spot that provides electricity. Plugging in overnight would give me an additional 160 miles of charge. The daily 40 mile solar charge should give me a total of 200 miles to visit a new place.
@@historystrategy The demand for EV charging will go up substantially over time and so will the cost of charging. A super efficient van with a 2kW solar array would be my cup of tea. Should get about the same 40-mi/day. Aptera is way too small for full-timing.
It depends on your situation and time in life. I am an empty nester. My children are adults. My wife has her own vehicle. I am interested in a vehicle that performs well and can efficiently be used for temporary camping. If I were a young musician interested in full-timing, a super efficient van with a 2kW solar array would make sense. Good luck on your music career. I sincerely mean that. I believe this is Gamma, not Delta (the production equivalent prototype. I hope to see Delta before the end of 2023. Production is expected by Q1 2024.
Aptera extended the length of it's vehicle by 5" from 172"to 177". It now has a 7 foot "bed" with 32 cubic feet of space. If your 2 disassembled mobility scooters take up less than 32 cubic feet of space, it should fit. So far I have seen surfboards and bicycles placed in the "trunk of the Aptera.

It is a shorter than the seat cushion to the ground distance of my Toyota Matrix. I do not have specific numbers, but I have sat in both and felt a noticeable difference between the two vehicles. The Toyota Matrix felt more like a small SUV and the Aptera felt more like a sports car. Sitting in the Aptera was comftorable. Accessing the Aptera with two hands free is probably better than accessing it filming with one hand.
It depends on what you are going to use it for. Some very expensive sports cars have a low center of gravity. According to another viewer, a 6'4 ' Porsche driver fit in the Aptera. If you are not as tall as 6'4", you should fit. If you are looking for performance, you should watch the Moose Test video put out by Aptera Motors. It passed the moose test. Do you have another reason that you are discouraged?@@plague6079
@@historystrategy I'm not concerned with fitting in the seat, it's entering and exiting.Getting in won't be as hard as getting out. When I first saw Aptera, I wasn't sure if I liked it or not, until I heard"...most efficient EV design." I looked into it. Wow. Now I'm convinced Aptera is the direction future EV designs will be going - high efficiency and solar-assist with smaller/lighter battery packs. That combination makes Aptera affordable and fast.
@@shrimptopian3392 You can select it when pre-ordering the launch edition. Also, considering openpilot / comma ai software and hardware already works in many other vehicles and just needs some adaption and wiring for the aptera, it would be somehow surprising if they could not do that until launch edition, esp. since Chris worked at comma ai and with the openpilot community for long.
After the Launch Edition, Aptera will start deliveries to the Southern California area and spread outward. They eventually plan to sell Aptera vehicles worldwide, including Australia.
I agree with you that Aptera will be very popular, especially in California. The 250 mile version will be produced after the Launch Edition. A family version is on the drawing board, but there is no definite timeline.
Gorgeous vehicle. We can't wait to be driving ours when they reach production.
Looking forward to taking possession of the two Launch Editions I’ve preordered. ☀️⚡️
2 Apteras are better than 1 lol.
Amazing engineering Aptera, the vehicle is beautiful in the wild. We can't wait to see your success to market and be behind the yolk of our very own.
You missed to comment on the Large 6' 4" guy that seemed to also fit in the drivers seat just fine.

Your filming is as shaky as the Aptera company itself 😂
Like did he turn off stabilization or something lol
Shaky and just terrible camera angles. Mostly just closeups of the trunk

Bankruptcy within 12 months, that's my prediction
I hope they get this car produced but it was supposed to be here in 2022, then 2023, and now maybe 2024 ? This pattern isn't very promising to me. Sad
Original delivery date was 2020
