Don't judge me. I only started in September with 2 books. I have since accumulated over 100 books, digital books included. I made a spreadsheet. I'm obsessed.
Thank you for your transparency 🤍✨ I did the same with yarn this year. Also some coloring books and art supplies thrown into the mix. This year I’m starting a no buy year lol
I just got the mungyo oil pastels. I told myself that I would not get them because they look so messy, but I gave in when one of my favorite colorist used them in a tutorial I wanted to follow. I’m so glad I did!
@@katiebell8872 No judgement here! Since October, I have bought more watercolors, alcohol markers, acrylic markers, oil pastels, fixative, fine liners, polychromos colored pencils (technically a gift, the 120 set). Not counting about 12 coloring books. 🤷♀️ I blame Kyra. 😆 Watching get videos just makes me want to color! 😻
I got my Polys last year and they are my absolute favorite pencils to use. I started with buying 4 open stock greens to play with shading and I was hooked, I saved up and bought the full set when I found it on sale.
I started colouring with Polychromos and love them. I recently tried Prisma to see what the hype was about and I do enjoy them as well. I have to say I love my Polychromos over Prisma however. I find you need to be patient and layer with Polychromos to get the same saturation and vibrancy as Prismas. So if you have a heavy hand, you might get frustrated with Polychromos but if you take your time they are so worth it!
I enjoyed this video. I am interested in your upcoming technique tutorials because I like your style of colouring. Congratulations on future wedding plans & move. I hope they both go well.
I love this channel, i learn so many new techniques and ive been coloring for over 10 years, I always love finding new channels to watch! enjoyed this end of year tag and will do this on my chanel too :).
I also love finding new channels to watch! I’m always searching color alongs or technique videos in hopes of finding new channels to watch. I really love watching Karen from my colorful country life, she’s one of my favorites as well as this channel of course. I see this channel having a lot of success. I think I’ve watched every video. Maybe everyone could comment some of their favorite channels/colorists… I’m so curious what everyone else is watching! 👀😄 I’m kind of obsessed with anything to do with coloring, especially colored pencil work along with markers and other embellishments. It makes me wanna buy everything I see though. Like children are with toys 🤣🤦🏼♀️
I love your videos, your art is always so bright and beautiful. Can’t believe you haven’t been at it for years😅 I was wondering if you have any tips or advice for increasing your colouring output. I find I take quite a long time to finish a piece which can make me lose enthusiasm, confidence and inspiration. I don’t keep well so it is more difficult to get through things but I don’t want to rush my art but would like to possibly increase how much I do. Any advice welcome. All the best from amy in Scotland 🏴 😊
Basing my pages has been a game changer in how quickly I finish my pages! Check out some of my color alongs on the channel. I show how I base my pages in a majority of them 🥰🌈💖
I bought the 12 set of Polychromos pencils and at first I didn't like them because they are very different from Prismacolors but after working with them I think I really like them. They don't blend well with Prismacolors (wax vs oil) but I find them to be wonderful to work with now that I'm more familiar with their properties. I just want you to know how much I enjoy your content. Your videos always bring a smile and always inspire. I hope you have a wonderful holiday and a happy and prosperous new year. Much love from Texas ❤️ P.S. You better upload just a wee video of your wedding 🤣 you know we want to see your dress. I think you'll be a beautiful bride 🙂
Yup. Always test! I have ripped out a page and I just started in October 2024. I used too much water and it warped the page and the watercolor pencils didn't blend as I wanted.
Hi lovely all of your pages are just amazing hun.. thank you for sharing the questions and loved your answers.. I hope 2025 is going to be a better year ahead thank you for sharing ❤❤❤😊😊😊xxxx
@@apicturedpurpose I will say they are oil not wax. I'm quite heavy handed even though I'm trying not to be. The pigment takes a bit time to appear with Polychromos vs Prismacolor. They take patience and a light hand with lots of layers to work properly!! Can someone come gently slap my hand when I'm pushing too hard please? 😆 Halp! I like how my polychromos hold a sharp tip longer than prismacolor though.
You have done an amazing job in 2024!! 🎉🎉 You are an incredible addition to the coloring community!! 🥰 Your videos are inspiring and uplifting!! 💞 I look forward to seeing your videos pop up on my RUclips notifications!! 😍 I have a year-end question for you as a pencil colorist: What pencils are still untouched or the tallest in your collection, and which ones are the stubbiest or in need of or have been replaced?? This speaks to your favorite and least favorite colors! 😉
I like this question!! When I was done with the video I went into my own pencil stash to answer this about MY pencil crush and the ones I've pretended not to know 🤭. Some were a surprise and some were not 😉
That's a great question! I think you are right, my most used pencils are definitely a clue to my favorite colors! I’d say my greens and blues get used the most and then those that are more muted are definitely the least used. I just love bright, vibrant colors 🌈💖
Polychromos are brilliant! They are very very different and far superior to prismacolors. I like how they are a hard, oil based pencils so you can build up light layers.
I have really enjoyed watching your channel this year and look forward to seeing your new videos in 2025. I like the idea of a monochromatic but haven’t been game to try it myself. Also interested in your thoughts on Polychromos. I also started off with Brutfuners (squares), progressed to Prismacolors and am now starting to explore Polychromos. I just bought 4 open stock and liked them enough to order a larger set. Aesthetically they are beautiful pencils. I envisage using them alongside my Prismas as they are both good for different things. Looking forward to your haul video. Thank you again for the great content you have provided on your channel this year.
Thanks so much for you kind words and supporting the channel! I love the idea of using Polychromos alongside other pencils too. It’s such a good way to get the best of both worlds! 😍
Hope you had a fun and nice christmas :) And I'm kinda jealous that you got 10 new coloring books >.< can't wait to see what you got~ the coloring books I anticipate in 2025 are dream voyage, mythographic dragonspell and dark fairytales (kerby rosanes) although I will not preorder them as I'm always wait for a flip-through before I buy new coloring books. considering which coloring supplies I want to have/get are acrylic markers either from artxx or artistro and a specific little watercolor set and slowly completing my polychromos collection. I also regret not to have tested my artxx pencils thoroughly enough so now I still have a WIP page, there I used them maybe I should tackle my WIPs before I start any new pages in any of my coloring books xD
I totally agree about waiting for flip-throughs. Most of the time I do that, generally because we get the books later here in Australia haha! I definitely recommend the arrtx simptap acrylic markers. They’re my favorite at the moment 💖
Gah! I really want to get better with galaxy backgrounds too. I’m not sure what I’m getting hung up on but it’s definitely a block for me. Sägen, I can’t wait to get my fingers on that book! I have a prepping/survival/homesteading channel right now but I’m thinking about starting an art/craft channel this year, but I’m so nervous about it LOL
I've been colouring since November this year and I'm coming up to 30 books but some are from 7 years ago when I bought a load but didn't know about the pens and shadings etc. I look back and cringe 😂😂xx😊
That’s so exciting that you’ve discovered colouring again and that you already have so many great books to work in! I totally understanding the cringe feeling but it’s great to see how far you’ve come as well 🤩💖
I’m so sorry this is happening for you! Unfortunately I’m not sure how to amend this issue as I’ve never encounter it but hopefully someone will see this comment and have a solution for you! 💖
Hi. I am new to your channel but really enjoying your content. I have always enjoyed colouring but feel like I have zero skill and just do basic colouring. When you were starting out what did you do to improve your skills? Its all a bit daunting 🥴
Try tutorials by Claire from Colour with Claire. I don't have skills for art, but her videos literally opened my eyes. I've learned 3-4 basic rules and then, suddenly, there was light at the end of the tunnel, :)
