Yessir, my son is a union heavy equipment operator working for the same company since he was 17. That's been 21 years now. He's used to new machinery though and not the old worn out stuff I have. I LOVE to have him on a machine when we are loading logs...so smooth.
Skid steers are a lot of fun! And sure beats digging pastures fence posts by hand! In the last 2 weeks I have basically ran all the implements for the skid steer on the farm, forks , auger, chainsaw bucket, and bail pincher for large round bails, oh yeah lets not forget about the grapple!😂 Wash off them stumps and you can have one heck of a bonfire!😂😂😂
Hot dang, you got some cool attachments for sure Pat !! I don't think I'll have anything but a pair of buckets and a set of forks. I've kinda got back burner plans for a wood splitter to work down the really big pieces into smaller easier to handle pieces. That's a long shot though.
Thanks Tony, for the cool comment about my son. He's been with the same contractor since he was 17 and that was 21 years ago. But he is used to the fancy new machinery, not my old worn out stuff. Thanks for watching...more to come soon.
Almost....part two will be the rest of the work to move the debris. But I was pretty much the teamster and the camera man for this part of the job. My son's the guy doing all the 'real' work.
Hahahaha....he's used to running fanciful new machines and not my old worn out stuff. It's hard to tell in the video, but the top soil is all skimmed off and the clay is a bit on the slick side from an overnight rain. A tracked machine would be a bit better here.
Howdy Wendell That skid steer really does the trick… I just got done clearing about an acre.. I have a ravine with a brook running down it.. It’s about 150 feet wide and wider in spots and it’s about 40 feet deep or more.. I pretty much cuts my property in half.. I have been dumping all the stumps and brush over one spot.. Great way to dispose of the debris from the clearing.. I have been dumping there for 40 years.. I bet I have taken 200 plus bucket loads down there.. hahahah Many hours driving back and forth.. Gets kinda boring after a while.. hahah After a few hours my butt hurts. Hahahaha I am so glad I have one cabed tractor.. I did three big piles the last few days and each one had those nasty yellow jackets in them.. I dig in and get a bucket load and I get about 1000 little yellow pissed off devils swarming my cab … I just smile and drive away.. Then do it over and over again… That was so satisfying.. hahaha Thanks for sharing my friend. Cheers
Good Morning Gus....it sure sounds like you had a fun project too !! I've never had the chance to use a cabbed tractor at all. But with the yellow jackets I bet you were happy as could be with yours !! I really like the skid steer for quick maneuverability in tight spaces. So much quicker than even an HST loader tractor. Hopefully your butt quit hurting with a little rest.....Hahahaha. Thanks for the entertaining story my friend.
That was a tremendous amount of clearing! Was wondering where all the concrete came from, an old driveway maybe? Have fallen behind in watching your videos, need do some catching up!
There were a few areas poured by the previous owners. Most of what's in the pile is stone they had lining the driveway and BBQ area and other stuff. The concrete just happened to be pushed into the pile and the camera made it look like a lot.
Hi Wendel You sure have no shortage of fun . I myself put in some work witha loader and compactor roller doing driveway work repair in this tropical weather.Hows the tomatoes this year.
No shortage of stuff to play with here at all Bob. LOL. Tomatoes are ok but it seems as though there is either not enough or way too many. Sorry I missed your comment buddy.
It would appear from the various camera angles that you have shown in other videos as well as this one, that you exercise the principals set forth in Roger Welsch's book, "Old Tractors And The Men Who Love Them". Always park your tractors in a way that the Missus can only see three of them from any one vantage point. Your adherence to that sage advice seems to have worked well for you.
Hahahaha...thank you for the smile this morning. I actually HAVE a copy of that book !! I guess it might be a little obvious that I adhere to his principal... (on occasion). LOL I was sad to hear he'd passed away a while back. He was a very humorous writer and got really good on the Allis tractors.
I don't know what it is about you, but your comments seem to the the spam folder more than others. LOL. I guess its ok as long as I find them eventually. Have a great day my friend.
@@tractorman4461 your guess is as good as mine. This whole digital world we now live in is something I've never totally been a part of.Sometimes I feel like a prehistoric dinosaur trying to make it in this modern day world. But no matter what I'll always prefer the days of old when men were men and women were ladies and there was no guess work about it.Have a gr8 day Wendell.👍👍😂
Property is always a lot of work. The skidsteer operator definitely has done this before. Great job.

Looks like a fun way to clean up 🤠👍
Heck yeah, tons and tons of seat time !!
Always helps to have the right equipment for the job 😎👍
...and the right guy at the controls too !! I can handle the trucks and trailers good enough but I can't hold a candle to my son on the skidsteer.

That's a fella that knows what he's doing.. getting it done...wahoo!!!!! Go wendell!
That's my son in the skid steer. He's a heavy equipment operator and has been at the same contractor since he was 17. Part 2 coming soon my friend.
Oh i realized it wasnt you lol just happy to suport all yall.. thanks..be on lookout for part 2 !!! @tractorman4461
@@zergo0621 Hahaha...I knew you guys could tell that wasn't me in the skid loader. LOL. Part 2 is on the way.
Great operator. Thank you for another great video.

Good video. When you buy property work begins!
Without a doubt. We ended up pouring over 40 yards of concrete on the project.
The way he drives that skidsteer got to be a sparkly
