Bill is all about rust; Dan is all about body horror. You absolutely MUST get together and do some sort of project together. Maybe a portal to hell smack dab in the center of Respite that is spilling your bloodily beautiful minions and landscape out into his city. I have to comment on the composition of this barn... I think it may be the best thing you've made so far. Absolutely fantastic. 👹

I've got to say, of all the many, many rusted-out science-fiction wild-west gore-nests I have seen, this is easily my second favourite. Seriously though, awesome design! Great stuff!

I imagine the horrors may have mimicked several living things in that barn. Or parts of them at least
I like the idea it wasn't even a meteor, but rather a canister housing some kind of bioweapon. One jettisoned into space, or even fired at the planet, to get rid of it.
I like your idea of it being a meat-eor that crashed into the barn and mutated.

I love the use of ink dyed twine as tendons, and the dyed wool yarn as fascia between tendons! How in the world did you not give in to the temptation to make them slimy?!

Fantastic! I love how the overall project looks, as it has that comic book or horror movie feel to it. All the different wall metal pieces, tendrils and other bits 'n' bobs make it look really alive. 10/10.

I always have faith in what you're doing Dan, since I do a lot of scratch building as well I've developed the ability to look past the garish colours of cheap materials like craft foam and just imagine the final product. Also I learned a tip from Jeremy of Black Magic Craft, you should paint areas like stonework/brickwork in very bright colours that maybe seem too bright initially. Then when you add dry brushing and dark washes on top, this will significantly tone down the brightness of your base colours. Best of luck to your horror war band! Hopefully you'll be able to wipe out those pesky rusters!

The little crosses (or circles or "S"s) are end plates of tie rods that are ran through the building to prevent the walls bowing outwards (basically clamping opposite walls together)... you often see them at about 1st floor level.
So I was kinda right?
I only ask that you do two things, keep making things that feed your joy and... I mean... as long as it makes you happy, keep the body horror coming please. God bless you you're funny.

I don't think I'll ever get over the way it all comes together with the paint. The shape is there and you can see it, but it truly comes alive tentacles and all when you paint. It amazes me the detail you can add with orange and a sponge.

Aaaa! Please Dan! I grew up in yorkshire and i'm getting schooldays-flashbacks. Nice to know I'm not the only P*ssy Pants Dan, although I always thought it was strange of them to call me that because my name isn't Dan! Well who knows what goes on inside the minds of northern bullies anyway. Spectacular barn, however - I've only ever scored brick shapes into flat craft foam to be applied to a model like 70s flock wallpaper; anyone who makes their own bricks and sticks them on one by one gets my vote!
