Is the wall that smoke detector's behind some sort of protected historical landmark? I've definitely put one on a skeet thrower and blasted it out of the sky with a Remington 870 Express for beeping significantly fewer times than yours before, and I would Kool-aid Man right through the wall to get at it.
I would have knocked out a wall by now to get to that smoke detector, there's no way my brain could handle listening to it while praying for its death. I also used to be a big fan of K'nex as a kid so take that into account.
